Attribute reduction is one of the core contents in rough set knowledge discovery, how to find the minimal attribute reduction, proposes an attribute reduction method using adaptive Genetic Algorithm(GA) and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO). On the basis of the condition attributes for decision attribute support degree, the method reset the fitness function, can dynamically adjust the parameters of the function, thus to ensure the obtained results for minimal reduction, combined with the genetic algorithm of adaptive crossover and mutation operation, to ensure that the particles in the feasible solution can be fully retain and use, the method to strengthen the local search ability at the same time, but also keep the global search ability. Experiments results show that the method has obvious advantages in solving the minimum attribute reduction. © 2021 ACM.

Due to the limitations of current anti-HBV therapies, the HBV core (HBc or HBcAg) protein assembly modulators (CpAMs) are believed to be potential anti-HBV agents. Therefore, discovering safe and efficient CpAMs is of great value. In this study, we established a HiBiT-based high-throughput screening system targeting HBc and screened novel CpAMs from an in-house marine chemicals library. A novel lead compound 8a, a derivative of the marine natural product naamidine J, has been successfully screened for potential anti-HBV activity. Bioactivity-driven synthesis was then conducted, and the structure‒activity relationship was analyzed, resulting in the discovery of the most effective compound 11a (IC50 = 0.24 μmol/L). Furthermore, 11a was found to significantly inhibit HBV replication in multiple cell models and exhibit a synergistic effect with tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) and IFNa2 in vitro for anti-HBV activity. Treatment with 11a in a hydrodynamic-injection mouse model demonstrated significant anti-HBV activity without apparent hepatotoxicity. These findings suggest that the naamidine J derivative 11a could be used as the HBV core protein assembly modulator to develop safe and effective anti-HBV therapies.

Facile fabrication of cross-linked n-Al/PVDF films with the tunability of reactivity and laser sensitivity

Metastable intermolecular complexes (MICs), which have exceptional energy density and reactivity, have drawn considerable attention in the field of energetic materials. In this work, a facile cryogel method is explored for fabricating n-Al/PVDF energetic films with the controllable tuning of reactivity and laser sensitivity. The microstructure of the films was transformed from dense packing to 3D cross-linking by adjusting the process parameters. With the formation of the porous structure, the energetic film exhibits a higher energy release rate (the flame propagation speed increases from 8.2 cm center dot s-1 to 13.5 cm center dot s-1) and a lower laser ignition delay (from 33.6 ms to 10.1 ms). The mechanisms underlying the altered reactivity are discussed in depth to provide insights into understanding changes in energy properties. This work provides an effective and facile strategy for realizing the tunability of the reactivity and sensitivity of n-Al/PVDF composites, which will aid to broaden their use in micro-transducers.(c) 2022 Elsevier B.V. Well-Tailored Dynamic Liquid Crystal Networks with Anionically Polymerized Styrene-Butadiene Rubbers toward Modulating Shape Memory and Self-Healing Capacity

Well-tailored construction of liquid crystal networks (LCNs) with simultaneous molecular mobility and mechanical enhancement is desirable. Since the properties of polymeric materials are largely a result of the molecular compositions of polymer chains, in the present work, we demonstrate the tuning compositional synthesis of anionically polymerized random styrene-butadiene rubbers (r-SBRs) with well-controlled 75 wt % butadiene (Bd) contents that offer molecular mobility. Microstructural 1,2-olefins of 51.5-64.0 mol % were designed to attach 50 mol % SiH-terminated mesogenic moieties (M) along Bd units using hydrosilylation. As mechanical strength usually conflicts with high molecular mobility, an integrated design derived from the orderly LC stacking and simultaneous crosslinking in various ratios of the dynamic 2(6-isocyanatohexylaminocarbonylamino)-6methyl-4[1H]-pyrimidinone (UPy-NCO) and permanent hexamethylene diisocyanate (HMDI) along 1,4-olefins of Bd units offers necessary mechanical strength and molecular mobility, resulting in a series of dynamic LCNs (r-SBR-g-[***]). LC textures, phase transitions, self-healing/welding, and shape memory capacities were comprehensively studied. All LCNs showed LC textures in POM around T-i (42- 53 degrees C), which definitely contributed to both mechanical performance and molecular mobility due to the 50 mol % orderly LC stacking. Ureidopyrimidinone (UPy) that forms a dynamic H-bond is beneficial for the temporary shape fixity ratio (R-f), recyclability, and self-healing/welding ability while decreasing the shape recovery ratio (R-rec) because UPy can increase breaking elongations but sacrifice the mechanical strength. However, HMDI that forms a covalent crosslink showed the contrary effect, as HMDI can effectively enhance the mechanical strength but reduce the chain mobility. It is evidenced that r-SBR45k-g-[M-0%, 2%] can hardly undergo shape recovery (R-rec = 0) despite R-f = 92.6%, while with regard to r-SBR45k-g

Microenvironment-tailored micelles restrain carcinoma-astrocyte crosstalk for brain metastasis

Breast-to-brain metastatic cells can interact with the surrounding cells, including astrocytes and microglia, to generate a pro-tumorigenic niche. Breast-to-brain metastasis can be treated using a dual strategy of eliminating metastatic tumor cells and normalizing their localized microenvironment. The effective accumulation of drugs at the action site of metastasis is crucial to realizing the above strategy, especially when dealing with the bloodbrain barrier (BBB)-penetrating and tumor-targeting tactics. Here, we establish an in-situ microenvironmenttailored micelle (T-M/siRNA) to co-deliver therapeutic siRNA and paclitaxel (PTX) into the breast-to-brain metastasis. Anchored with a D-type cyclic peptide, T-M/siRNA can penetrate the BBB and subsequently target the brain metastases. Upon internalization by metastatic tumor cells, T-M/siRNA can release PTX in the highlevel glutathione (GSH), resulting in killing cancer cells. Meanwhile, the micellar structure is dissociated, resulting in lowering the charge density to release the loaded siRNA that can targeted downregulate the expression of protocadherin 7 (PCDH7). Treatment of model mice revealed that T-M/siRNA can inhibit the abnormal activation of astrocytes and immunosuppressive activation of microglia, resulting in significantly enhanced synergistic anti-tumor efficacy. This study indicates that the micelle system can serve as a hopeful strategy to treat breast-to-brain metastasis.

Highly efficient inter-conversion of different types of energy is the core of science and technology. Among them, electrochemiluminescence (ECL), an emission of light excited by electrochemical reactions, has drawn attention as a powerful tool across diverse fields in addressing global energy, environment, and health challenges. Nonetheless, the ECL efficiency (phi(ECL)) of most luminophores in aqueous solutions is low, significantly hampering their broad applications. Along this line, developing ECL luminophores with high phi(ECL) and understanding the associated intrinsic factors is highly envisioned. Herein, taking carbon nitride (CN) with rigid 2D backbones as an emerging model luminophore, it is reported that the orbital delocalization is a unified and quantifiable factor for its phi(ECL). Behind the complicated transformation of molecular structures of cyano-terminal groups and triazine/heptazine basal frameworks, the orbital delocalization of CN is found to be generally improved at an elevated condensation temperature. Such intrinsic evolution in electronic structure favored the electron injection in excitation and follow-up photon emission in ECL for CN. As a result, the cathodic phi(ECL) of CN is remarkably improved to a new milestone of 24-fold greater than the previous record.

A pH and Temperature Dual-Responsive Microgel-Embedded, Adhesive, and Tough Hydrogel for Drug Delivery and Wound Healing

Stimuli-responsive hydrogels have attracted much attention over the past decade for potential bioengineering applications such as wound dressing and drug delivery. In this work, a pH and temperature dual-responsive microgel-embedded hydrogel has been fabricated by incorporating poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylic acid) (PNIPAAm-co-AAc) based microgel particles into polyacrylamide (PAAm)/chitosan (CS) semi-interpenetrating polymer network (semi-IPN), denoted as microgel@PAM/ CS. The resultant hydrogel possesses excellent mechanical properties including stretchability, compressibility, and elasticity. In addition, the microgel@PAM/CS hydrogels can tightly adhere to the surfaces of a variety of tissues such as porcine skin, kidney, intestine, liver, and heart. Moreover, it shows controlled dual-drug release profile of both bovine serum albumin (BSA) (as a model protein) and sulfamethoxazole (SMZ), an antibiotic. Excellent antimicrobial properties are obtained for SMZ-loaded microgel@ PAM/CS hydrogels. Compared with traditional drug administration methods such as by mouth, injection, and inhalation, the microgel@PAM/CS hydrogels possess advantages such as higher drug loading efficiency (by more than 80%) and controllable and sustained (over 48 h) release. The microgel@PAM/ CS hydrogels can significantly enhance the wound healing process. This work provides a facile approach for the fabrication of multifunctional stimuli-responsive microparticle-embedded hydrogels with semi-IPN structures, and the as-prepared microgel@ PAM/CS hydrogels have great potential for applications as smart wound dressing materials in biomedical engineering.

Tangentially viewing hard X-ray imaging system and its measurement simulation on the HL-2M tokamak

A tangentially viewing Hard X-ray Real-Time Imaging (HXR-RTI) system and its measurement simulation on the HL-2M tokamak are presented. The HXR-RTI system mainly consists of a CsI:Tl scintillator crystal, a pinhole mechanism and a high-speed camera. When the CsI:Tl crystal is struck by the X-ray photons, certain wavelengths of visible or near-visible photons will be scintillated, which could be collected by the lens and imaged by the high-speed camera. This system can measure HXR with energy up to 300 keV, spatial resolution of less than 10 mm, and temporal resolution of several tens of microseconds. To understand the emission profile, we have developed a Geant4 model. The simulation results confirm that the spatial asymmetry will eventually lead to radiation asymmetry distribution. This system is designed for real-time exhibition of hard X-ray radiations from fast electron forward bremsstrahlung and will be used to study the dynamics of fast electrons.

Structural health monitoring and performance analysis of a 12-story recycled aggregate concrete structure

To encourage the application of recycled coarse aggregates (RCA) produced from construction and demolition (C&D) waste in newly-built structures, this study investigates the dynamic behaviors of a 12-story recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) in the operational environment through structural health monitoring (SHM), and compares with an adjacent 12-story natural aggregate concrete (NAC) structure with similar arrangements of components and structural construction. The SHM has undergone 12 months, and has provided a wealth of data detailing the dynamic behaviors with the variation in the operational environment as well as significant structural responses excited by typhoons and earthquakes. Firstly, the first 5 vibration modes of both structures are identified, and the effects of the ambient temperature, hourly mean wind speed and structural response amplitude are analyzed. A lower natural frequency and a larger damping ratio of the fundamental vibration mode of the RAC structure are found than those of the NAC structure. For both the RAC and NAC structures, the fundamental frequency increases with the increasing ambient temperature, the decreasing hourly mean wind speed, and the decreasing structural response amplitude. The opposite trend of the damping ratios is identified. Secondly, the stick-slip model is used to explain the differences between the modal parameters of the RAC and the NAC structures, and to discover the mechanism of the effects of the ambient temperature, the hourly mean wind speed, and the structural response amplitude. Thirdly, the serviceability of the RAC structure is evaluated based on the full-scale measurements during typhoons. Finally, the artificial neural network (ANN) is validated to have the capacity for predicting the modal parameters precisely, and the model error of the ANN has the potential as an indicator for detecting abnormal structural performances.

Enhancing gas production and CO2 sequestration from marine hydrate reservoirs through optimized CO2 hydrate cap

The invasion of formation water during marine hydrate production gravely affects gas productivity. CO2 hydrate caps effectively inhibit water invasion while sequestering CO2, which is considered an excellent prospective application. However, forming field -scale artificial CO2 hydrate caps remains a global challenge. This study proposed an innovative method for forming an artificial CO2 hydrate cap. The fracture length, injection time, production pressure, and production well distance, which are all factors that affect sealing capacity and production enhancement, were optimized. Results indicated that the sealing capacity exhibited a trend of initially increasing and subsequently decreasing with fracture length. The injection time was positively correlated with the sealing capacity and was sufficient to seal both vertically and horizontally once it reached 4 years. In addition to sequestering CO2, the CO2 hydrate cap enhanced gas production by 146.56 % and reduced water production by 37.47 % compared to direct depressurization. CO2 invasion occurred when the well spacing was too close, while being distant was not favorable for pressure propagation and heat utilization by the CO2 hydrate cap. This method simultaneously achieves multiple goals for energy and environmental, providing essential implications for the future commercial application of marine hydrates.
