Composite carbon-based nano-zero-valent iron materials not only have excellent characteristics of nano materials, but also solve the difficulty of recycling nano materials after use, and overcome the shortcomings of the nano materials. The introduction of copper increases the redox reaction activity of the micro-electrolytic material and expands the applicable pH range of the reaction environment. In the range of pH = 3-9, the removal efficiency of dichloromethanesulfonic acid (Cl-2-MSA) was maintained at 95.5-99.7% after 30 min. Continuous dynamic simulation experiments verified that the composite carbon-based nano zero-valent iron material has a stable removal effect on the target pollutants.

Novel optical labels for biosensing in near-infrared (NIR) region (especially between 800 and 900 nm) are arousing much attention for higher penetrating capability, less scattering and lowered autofluorescent background. Herein, a water-soluble electrochemiluminophore with effective electrochemiluminescence (ECL) around 815 nm is developed via doping dual-stabilizers-capped CdTe nanocrystals (NCs) with Co2+ species in a growth-doping way. The Co2+-doped CdTe NCs not only can preserve the highly-passivated surface states of dual-stabilizers-capped CdTe NCs, but also exhibit efficient red-shifted photoluminescence (PL) and ECL into the promising optical NIR window of 800-900 nm. A spectrum-based ultrasensitive NIR ECL immunosensor is consequently fabricated with the Co2+-doped CdTe NCs as tags for the first time, which can selectively and sensitively determine human carcinoembryonic antigen with a wide linearity range from 1 fg/mL to 10 pg/mL and a low limit of detection at 0.2 fg/mL (S/N = 3). This work opens a way to screen novel NIR electrochemiluminophore as well as to modulate the ECL performance of NCs via surface doping and engineering.

Hemerocalliscultivar Small orange lamp is a hybrid variety. Its whole chloroplast genome was 156,053 bp in size, consisting of 135 genes in total, including 89 mRNA genes, 38 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. The chloroplast genome contained a large single copy region (LSC 84,805 bp), a small single copy region (SSC 18,510 bp) and a pair of inverted repeats (IRa and IRb 26,369 bp). The overall GC content was 37.34%. Phylogenetic analysis showed thatHemerocallis lilioasphodelusandH. cultivar Small orange lamp are most closely related. This will provide valuable reference for further research on the genetic information of plants in theHemerocallis.

Binding of different ligands to glucocorticoid receptor (GR) may induce different conformational changes and even trigger completely opposite biological functions. To understand the allosteric communication within the GR ligand binding domain, the folding pathway of helix 12 (H12) induced by the binding of the agonist dexamethasone (DEX), antagonist RU486, and modulator AZD9567 are explored by molecular dynamics simulations and Markov state model analysis. The ligands can regulate the volume of the activation function-2 through the residues Phe737 and Gln738. Without ligand or with agonist binding, H12 swings from inward to outward to visit different folding positions. However, the binding of RU486 or AZD9567 perturbs the structural state, and the passive antagonist state appears more stable. Structure-based virtual screening and in vitro bioassays are used to discover novel GR ligands that bias the conformation equilibria toward the passive antagonist state. HP-19 exhibits the best anti-inflammatory activity (IC50 = 0.041 +/- 0.011 mu m) in nuclear factor-kappa B signaling pathway, which is comparable to that of DEX. HP-19 also does not induce adverse effect-related transactivation functions of GR. The novel ligands discovered here may serve as promising starting points for the development of GR modulators.

The detection of pesticides has become a very important and critical research area because of the rapid development of agriculture and strict environmental protection regulations. In this paper, a fast and sensitive non-enzymatic electrochemical sensor for methyl parathion (MP) on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with hydroxylatopillar[5]arene@gold nanoparticles and electrochemical reduced graphene oxide (HCP5@AuNPs-ERGO) hybrid nanomaterials was proposed. The properties of the modified electrode were characterized by cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The experimental parameters such as preconcentration time, preconcentration potential and pH value were optimized. It was found that the improved electrode showed a high detection sensitivity to MP, with a detection range of 0.005 mu M to 30 mu M and a detection limit (LOD) of 0.001 mu M, and other interfering substances had no effect on the detection of MP. In addition, the modified electrode is also used for the detection of MP in actual water samples, showing an efficient sensing capability. The results show that the electrochemical sensor provides a new idea for the trace analysis of MP in agricultural and environmental samples.
