The single-motor multiple DOFs under-actuated finger is the focus of robotresearch. The grasping force of traditional under-actuated hands based on linkages is hard to control. The traditional hands also have many differences from human hands in appearance. Aiming to solve these problems, this paper has presented a novel under-actuated hand based on linkages, which also comprises of slider mechanisms and springs. Its finger has a changeable force output controlled by a motor with humanoid appearance. It also can adapt to the shape of objects. This article analyzed the force properties of the finger. According to this, a 2-DOF finger and a 3-DOF finger were designed. Finally, they are included in the hand named TH-3L, which comprises of five fingers and six motors with 15 DOFs.

Chitosan membranes loaded with bovine serum albumin (BSA;BSA/chitosan membranes) were prepared by either oven-drying or lyophilization. The encapsulation of BSA was mostly > 80%. Controlled release of BSA from the membranes into phosphate-buffered saline (PBS;pH 7.4) was determined with Coomassie brilliant blue at different time periods. The highest cumulative amount of released BSA was 17.30% after 20 days. The optimized chitosan concentration was found to range from 10 to 20 g/l. The most favorable drying temperature for the membrane preparation was 55A degrees C. And membranes made by lyophilization were more porous and uniform than those made by oven-drying.

Formation of charged (neutral) vacancies of bulk (surface) cubic-zrO(2) is calculated from density functional theory, and compared with available experiments. Relationships among vacancy formation energy, electron and element chemical potentials are established within a wide range of oxygen chemical potentials. The +2 (-2) oxygen (zirconium) vacancy is predicted stable near the valence (conduction) band edge of the bulk, and the neutral oxygen vacancy has the lowest formation energy on (1 0 0) O-terminated surface without exhibiting a defect state within the band gap. Therefore, manipulation of oxygen vacancy concentration becomes possible by optimizing growth surface and oxygen chemical potentials. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Using aspheric component in optical system can correct optical aberration, acquire high imaging quality, improve the optical characteristic, simplify system structure, and reduce system volume. Nowadays, high-precision surface grinding machine is an important approach to processing optical aspheric elements. However, because of the characteristics of optical aspheric elements, the processing method makes a higher demand to whole performance of surface grinding machine, and hardly to achieve ideal machining effect. Taking high generality and efficiency into account, this paper presents a compensation method for machining errors of high-precision surface grinding machine, which bases on optical aspheric elements, to achieve high-precision machining for all kinds of optical aspheric elements. After compensation, the machining accuracy of grinding machine could reach 2um/200x200mm. The research bases on NC surface grinding machine which is self developed. First of all, this paper introduces machining principle for optical aspheric elements on the grinding machine. And then error sources which producing errors are analyzed. By contacting and non-contacting measurement sensors, measurement software which is self designed realizes on-position measure for grinded workpiece, then fits surface precision and machining errors. Through compensation software for machining error which is self designed, compensation algorithm is designed and translated compensation data into G-code for the high-precision grinding machine to achieve compensation machining. Finally, by comparison between machining error compensation before and after processing, the experiments for this purpose are done to validate the compensation machining accuracy.

Radiative transfer models have been widely used to simulate the radar backscattering from forested areas. A three-dimensional radar backscatter model of forest canopy developed in previous studies takes full account of spatial position of trees in a forest stand, and the interactions among crown, trunk and ground surface. The model predicted well for the co-polarized backscatter measurements, but underestimated the backscattering for cross-polarization, primarily because only the first-order scattering within tree crowns was considered in the model. The backscattering at cross-polarization depends strongly on multiple scatter- ing within tree crowns. To produce good estimations for cross-polarized component, the matrix-doubling method is employed here to compute multiple-scattering within the crown. The modified model is compared with the original model, and the field forest measurements and AIRSAR data are used for validation of the modified model. The cross-polarization backscattering is improved in different degrees for different crown structures and at different bands.

Human cytomegalovirus (CMV)-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) immune response must be reconstituted for long-term protection against CMV relapse and disease in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) recipients. We phenotypically quantitated absolute numbers of CMV-pp65 peptide-specific CTLs (CTLcmv) in 50 related donor unmanipulated allografts infused into HLA-matched or-mismatched recipients and examined the incidence of CMV reactivation. high CTLcmv with terminally differentiated effector CD45RO(-)CD62L(-) cell (T-EMRA) phenotype in the allografts were associated with reduced risk of CMV reactivation, in the presence of sufficient CD45RO(+)CD62L(-) cell (T-EM) infusion (>= 0.208 x 10(6)/kg). Early after transplantation, there was significant expansion of CTLcmv with the central memory CD45RO(+)CD62L(+) cell (T-CM) phenotype when CMV was reactivated. The frequencies of CTLcmv T-Naive (CD45RO(-)CD62L(+)), T-CM, and T-EM at day 90 posttransplantation and of CTLcmv T-EMRA at day 60 posttransplantation were greater in recipients with higher infusions of CTLCMV T-EMRA, suggesting protective immunity transferred by infusion of CTLcmv within allografts. Moreover, the majority of the CTLcmv identified in the recipients early after HSCT was of donor origin. Our findings support that measuring levels of CTLCMV and its subsets in the donor grafts and manipulating these cells early after transplantation may help control CMV reactivation, which is closely correlated with immune reconstitution and differentiation of CTLcmv subsets. The dynamic global core plasma model(DGCPM) is used in this paper to calculate the He+ density distribution of the Earth's plasmasphere and to investigate the configurations and 30.4 nm radiation properties of the *** comparisons between the simulation results and IMAGE mission observations show:That the equatorial structure of the plasmapause is mainly located near 5.5 RE and the typical scale of plasmasphere shrinking or expansion within 10 min is approximately 0.1 RE;that the plasmaspheric shoulders are formed and rotate noon-ward from the dawn sector under the conditions of strong southward turning of the interplanetary magnetic field(IMF);that the plasmaspheric plumes will rotate dawn-ward from the night sector and become narrow for the southward turning of the *** simulated images from the lunar orbit show that the plasmasphere locating within the geocentric distance of 5.5 RE corresponds to field of view(FOV) of 10.7°×10.7° for the moon-based EUV imager,and that the 30.4 nm radiation intensity of the plasmasphere is 0.1-11.4 *** plasmaspheric shoulders and plumes locating toward the moon-side are for the first time simulated with typical scale level of 0.1 RE from the side view of the *** simulated results provide an important theoretical basis for the lunar-based EUV camera design.

ST13, a co-factor of heat shock protein, has shown potential antitumor efficacy for colorectal cancer in our previous study. However, the molecular mechanisms governing ST13-induced apoptosis are poorly understood. Here, we demonstrate that Ad-ST13 (ST13 mediated by adenovirus) activates apoptosis signal-regulated kinase (ASK I) and c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) but not p38 (mitogen-activated protein kinase) in human colorectal HCT116 cells. Ad-ST13 also increases extracellular-regulated kinase (ERK) phosphorylation levels, but the change is due to adenovirus replication. Overexpression of ST13 also increases the transcription activity of AP-1. Blocking ASK1-JNK pathway affects Ad-ST13-mediated colorectal cell apoptosis, decreases the release of cytochrome c in cytoplasm and caspase activation. Because ASK! is known to contain a tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR)-acceptor site and ST13 has TPR domain, we found the interaction between ST13 and ASK1. First, we will give an introduction of the related video surveillance system in recent years, in particular, we will describe algorithms and systems developed in our group for the automatic interpretation of human and vehicle motion in surveillance videos, where automatic interpretation involves object motion detection, object classification and recognition, object tracking and the analysis of object behaviors in order to detect abnormal behaviors. Half-Heusler thermoelectric materials Hf(/Zr)NiSn were prepared by levitation melting followed by melt-spinning to refine the boundary structures, and then they were consolidated by spark plasma sintering. X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy showed that single phased half-Heusler compounds without compositional segregation had been obtained. It was found that the thermoelectric properties, especially the thermal conductivity, depended strongly on the boundary structures. The melt-spinning samples with refined boundary structures had a lower thermal conductivity but a power factor comparable to that of the sample prepared by levitation melting, thus providing good thermoelectric properties.
