Metal-organic framework derived polymetallic Fe/Ni/Co-C dodecahedron coupled with ZnIn2S4 nanosheet towards boosted photocatalytic H2 evolution

Developing effective, stable and noble-metal-free cocatalysts was still a research hotspot in photocatalysis field. Herein, polymetallic Fe/Ni/Co-C dodecahedron as a co-catalyst is successfully designed and constructed for efficient photocatalytic H2 production. The composite photocatalyst (Fe/Ni/Co-C/ZIS) was then obtained by two-dimensional (2D) ZnIn2S4 nanosheets photocatalyst well dispersed on surfaces of Fe/Ni/Co-C. Benefiting from the multi-metal synergy effects of Fe/Ni/Co-C dodecahedron and more photocatalytic active sites of 2D ZIS, the photocatalytic hydrogen production of Fe/Ni/Co-C/ZIS is significantly enhanced, achieving the highest photocatalytic H2 production rate of 593.8 mu mol g- 1h- 1, which is 15 times that of pure ZIS. Band structure and Gibbs free energy were calculated by density functional theory (DFT). This work offers a feasible idea for the formation of polymetallic carbides cocatalyst derived from metal-organic framework in situ calcination method to realize efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.

Ontogeny cannot be separated from mechanical forces. Cells are continuously subjected to different types of mechanical stimuli that convert into intracellular signals throughmechanotransduction. As a member of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily, adhesion Gprotein-coupled receptors (aGPCRs) have attracted extensive attention due to their uniqueextracellular domain and adhesion properties. In the past few decades, increasing evidencehas indicated that sensing mechanical stimuli may be one of the main physiological activitiesof aGPCRs. Here, we review the general structure and activation mechanisms of these receptors and highlight the lesion manifestations relevant to each mechanosensitive aGPCR.

Impact of RISC positions on stator winding insulation in synchronous generators

The insulation failure of synchronous generator winding is usually the early cause of short circuit fault, especially under the combined action of electromagnetic force, thermal stress and mechanical stress. This paper comprehensively investigates the mechanical-thermal response characteristics of end-winding insulation under different rotor interturn short circuit (RISC) positions in synchronous generators. Based on the magnetic-thermal-solid coupling model, not only are magnetic flux density and electromagnetic forces obtained in the stator end-winding region, but also the dynamic characteristics of deformation, stress, and strain in the winding insulation are separately calculated. Furthermore, weak locations of stress and strain concentration in the winding are identified. The entire work is grounded in qualitative theoretical analysis, finite element analysis, and experimental verification. The result shows that RISC results in non-uniform stress and temperature distributions of insulation materials, which will significantly increase the mechanical-thermal response of the winding insulation material, and aggravate the deformation, stress and strain of the insulation material. The stress at the joint and nose end of winding insulation is significantly higher. These specific locations are the dangerous point of winding insulation failure.

Ecological assessment and source identification based on chemical forms and content of heavy metals in the sediment of Baiyangdian Lake

This study reveals the superimposing ecological risk of chemical form and total amount of heavy metals(HMs)and their source in the sediments of Baiyangdian Lake,also provides important scientific basis for environmental protection and sustainable development of the Xiong’an New *** total amount and distribution of typical HMs(As,Cd,Cr,Cu,Pb,and Zn)in the sediments of Baiyangdian Lake and its peripheral rivers were ***,five chemical forms(F1−F5)of HMs in the sediments of Baiyangdian Lake were identified by an improved Tessier five-step *** Assessment Coding Method(RAC)and mean sediment quality guideline quotient(SQG-Q)were used to assess ecological *** addition,the improved enrichment coefficient and statistical methods were used to identify the sources of *** contents of HMs in the lake sediment is about 1 to 3 times the background values,with higher concentration in the central area and lower concentration in the northern and southern *** pH and organic matter concentrations were 6.99 to 7.28 and 3.98%to 5.69%,*** chemical form of HM in the lake sediments is mainly in residue ***-exchangeable form and carbonate bound form of Cd account for the highest proportion(19%to 42%and 17%to 25%,respectively);Pb and As have a higher proportion of iron and manganese oxidation form(21%to 51%and 15%to 31%,respectively);Cu and Zn have a higher proportion of organic bound form(11%to 39%and 8%to 25%,respectively).RAC indicates a high potential risk for Cd,Pb,and As,and the SQG-Q indicated a high ecological risk for As,Cr and *** form and behavior of HMs,such as bioavailability and toxicity,are largely influenced by the physicochemical properties of the *** matter and pH mainly affect the ion exchange form of HMs,while the total amount of HMs mainly affects the binding form and residual form of HMs with organic *** in the content and morphology of Cu,Zn,and Cd in Baiyangdian sediments are mainly i

Improving Ride Comfort of a Soil Compactor based on the NSS Embedded into the Seat's Semiactive Suspension

Three dynamic models (1-D, 2-D, and 3-D) of a soil compactor are established to research the vehicle's ride comfort via numerical simulation and experiment. Based on the efficiency of the semi-active control (SAC) of the Fuzzy-PID controller and the negative stiffness structure (NSS), a new suspension of the driver's seat equipped with the SAC and NSS is proposed to further improve the soil compactor's ride comfort under the various working conditions of the vehicle on the elastoplastic soil ground. The reduction of the root-mean-square seat acceleration (alpha(ws)) in the time domain and the power-spectral-density seat acceleration (PSD) in the frequency domain is chosen as the objective function. The study indicates that the seat's acceleration response in the time domain with the 1D, 2-D, and 3-D models of the soil compactor is similar. However, the alpha(ws) and maximum PSD acceleration of the driver's seat with the 1-D model are higher than that of the 3-D model by 35.9% and 58.5%, while the acceleration response and PSD acceleration of the driver's seat with the simulation of the 3-D model are similar to the experiment. Therefore, the different dynamic models of the vehicle remarkably affect the investigation result. With the driver's seat suspension equipped with the SAC and NSS, the alpha(ws) and maximum PSD acceleration of the driver's seat are strongly decreased by 80.1% and 87.6% compared to the seat's passive suspension without the SAC and NSS. Additionally, these values are also lower than that of oth the SAC and NSS under various simulation conditions. Consequently, the driver's seat suspension equipped with the SAC and NSS could be used to further improve the ride comfort of the soil compactor.

Phthalocyanine nickel enhanced composite solid-state electrolytes with homogenous and fast Li-ion conduction for high-voltage Li-metal batteries

Herein, a novel composite solid-state polymer electrolytes (CSEs) was regulated by introducing CoNi-MOF (Metal-organic framework) @NiPc (Nickel phthalocyanine) nanofiller (CMN) into PEO (polyethylene oxide) matrix. In this novel system, the NiPc uniformly wrapped around the surface of MOF through hydrogen bond bridging, avoiding the agglomeration of the MOF particles. The chemisorption between Ni2+ in NiPc and the O atoms in the bis(triffuoromethanesulfonyl)imide anion (TFSI-) restricted the mobility of the anions within the CSEs, which improved the release of Li+ ions from the NiPcLi. In addition, the it-it conjugated groups present in NiPc facilitated a spontaneous formation of additional lithium ion transport channels within the PEO (polyethylene oxide) matrix. The novel CSEs displayed a Li+ transference number of 0.79 and ionic conductivity (2.65 x 10-4 S cm-1). The nitro groups at the peripheral position of NiPc acted as intermediaries that firmly combined the PEO and MOF via the formation of mutual hydrogen bonds, avoiding the shedding of active materials from the base polymer and ensuring long-term stability. Moreover, the decrease in the HOMO (highest occupied molecular orbital) energy level of the obtained CSEs indicated an improvement in its ability to resist oxidation. Consequently, an Li//Li(Ni0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2) (NCM811) high-voltage battery containing the obtained CSEs displayed good performance. DA-CapsNet: A multi-branch capsule network based on adversarial domain adaption for cross-subject EEG emotion recognition

Due to inter-individual variances, cross-subject electroencephalogram (EEG)-based emotion recognition is a challenging task. In this paper, we construct a multi-branch Capsule network (named DA-CapsNet) based on domain adaptation to improve the performance of cross-subject EEG emotion recognition. To fully capture the various intensity characteristics of a single emotion, firstly, DA-CapsNet decomposes the source and the target domain EEG signals into four frequency bands and homomorphically groups the data in each band, and then extracts the differential entropy (DE) features for each group separately. Taking into account the spatial arrangement of the electrodes, the DE features are mapped into a two-dimensional matrix to form a homomorphic difference cube sequence (HDCS). Second, to enhance the feature information of the same emotion and accelerate the run efficiency of the network, a parallel structured multi-branch primary Capsual network (CapsNet) is constructed in this paper. The multi-branch primary CapsNet can effectively extract the aforementioned sequence discriminative features and fuse them as the input features of the capsule emotion classifier. Finally, to lessen inter-domain distribution discrepancies, we brought adversarial domain adaptation to improve the performance of cross-subject emotion recognition. Numerous tests are run on the three public datasets of EEG, and the results show that the proposed algorithm in this paper works well.

Mid-Net: Rethinking efficient network architectures for small-sample vascular segmentation

Deep learning-based medical image segmentation methods have demonstrated significant clinical applications. However, training these methods on small-sample vascular datasets remains challenging due to the scarcity of labeled data and severe category imbalance. To address this, this paper proposes Mid-Net, which fully exploits the often-overlooked feature representation potential of the middle-layer network through cross-layer guidance to improve model learning efficiency in data-constrained environments. Mid-Net consists of three core components: the encoding path, the guidance path, and the calibration path. In the encoding path, a feature pyramid structure with large kernel convolutions is used to extract semantic information at different scales. The guidance path combines the sensitivity of the shallow-layer network to spatial details with the global perceptual abilities of the deep-layer network to provide more discriminative guidance to the middle-layer network in a featuredecoupled manner. The calibration path further calibrates the spatial location information of the middle-layer network through end-to-end supervised learning. Experiments conducted on the publicly available retinal vascular datasets DRIVE, STARE, and CHASE_DB1, as well as coronary angiography datasets DCA1 and CHUAC, demonstrate that Mid-Net achieves superior segmentation results with lower computational resource requirements compared to state-of-the-art methods.

Green and recyclable photocatalytic hydrogel film with antibacterial and ethylene scavenging properties for fruit preservation.

Fruit is prone to spoilage due to mechanical damage, its own respiration, and microbial infections. Therefore, it is crucial to develop an environmentally friendly, and recyclable film with excellent preservation effects. In this study, we introduce a novel photocatalytic hydrogel film featuring superior self-healing, antibacterial, and ethylene scavenging properties. In this system, the electrospun necklace-like BMT (Bi and Mo co-doped TiO2 nanofibers) photocatalyst was introduced into a hydrogel system composed of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and glycerol, resulting in a series of BMT organic hydrogel films. These films utilize sunlight to convert ethylene, a fruit ripening agent, into CO2 and H2O. Simultaneously, they generate superoxide and hydroxyl free radicals, effectively eliminating bacteria as confirmed by visual experimental analysis. The shelf life of bananas and strawberries covered with BMT film at room temperature can be extended to 96 h and 60 h, respectively, significantly longer than that achieved with commercial polyethylene (PE) film. Moreover, the designed hydrogel film not only has self-healing properties but is also easily recyclable. Given its broad potential applications in fruit preservation, this study provides valuable insights and practical methods for the field.

Impact of 2D and 3D Rotor Eccentricity on End Winding Mechanics Behavior in Synchronous Generators

Investigations on static air-gap eccentricity (SAGE) faults about magnetic field variations, current/ voltage changes, and stator/ rotor vibrations have been widely carried out, while the mechanical properties of the end windings have been rarely studied, especially in 3D eccentricity cases. This article provides a detailed study on the stator end winding mechanics behavior in synchronous generators at typical rotor eccentricity running conditions. Such mechanics behavior includes not only the electromagnetic force (EF) properties, but also the end winding vibrations as well as the stress/strain/deformation responses due to the uneven EF excitation. The typical rotor eccentricity running conditions include: 1) radial static air-gap eccentricity (RSAGE), 2) axial static air-gap eccentricity (ASAGE), and 3) hybrid static air-gap eccentricity (HSAGE). The theoretical analysis, finite element analysis calculation and experimental verification are performed respectively, by taking a 5kVA synchronous generator as the research object in this paper. It is shown that in normal and SAGE cases, the end winding EF/vibration contains the DC component and even harmonics, especially the 2nd harmonic. RSAGE increases the end winding EF/vibration, whereas ASAGE increases the end winding EF/vibration at the extended end of the rotor while decreasing the EF/vibration on the retracted end. Under HSAGE, both RSAGE and ASAGE will affect the variation trend of end winding EF/vibration with the rule of single direction SAGE fault. The nose part and the joint to connect the end part and the linear sections are the most dangerous positions to afford the mechanics responses, and the occurrence of SAGE will make these parts more vulnerable.
