In present study, DMDHEU (dimethylol dihydroxyethyleneurea), which has been used for wrinkle-resistant finishing in textile, was used in FR finishing of CO/PET blends as a crosslinker with novel FR chemical (Fire-off). Flame retardancy performance of CO/PET fabrics treated with Fire-off and Fire-off/DMDHEU were investigated and compared. In addition, wrinkle resistant test was performed for untreated and Fire-off/DMDHEU treated fabrics to investigate the effect of the treatment on wrinkle recovery performance of fabrics. Results showed that Fire-off/DMDHEU system is a more effective nitrogen provider than Fire-off alone to enhance the flame retarding performance of the treated CO/PET fabrics through phosphorus-nitrogen synergism, therefore the presence of DMDHEU in the flame retardant finishing system increases the flame resistance of the treated CO/PET fabric. In addition, DMDHEU does not significantly change the wrinkle recovery of fabrics when used with Fire-off.

The introduction of power electronic devices has aggravated sub-synchronous oscillations (SSO) related issues. In this paper, a frequency-domain modal based method is proposed for analyzing the sub-synchronous torsional oscillations (SSTOs) in multi-machine power systems including permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) wind farms. The system node admittance matrix is established in the dq frame and xy synchronous frame, where the synchronous generator (SG) and the voltage source converter (VSC) are modeled as small-signal admittance. The modal analysis method is presented for the SSTOs characteristics analysis and its correctness is verified in the modified New England 39 bus system. The dimension of node admittance matrix is equal to the number of nodes. Compared with that of state-space model based method, the matrix dimension of frequency-domain model based method does not increase with the increase of inverter-based resources (IBRs). In addition, the small-signal admittance of the IBR can be obtained by "black/gray box". Therefore, the frequency-domain model based method is potentially applicable to large-scale systems SSTO analysis with a large amount of IBRs.

In this paper, a novel haptic interaction framework for deformable objects is introduced and discussed. Unlike existing frameworks, the proposed approach is based on point-based mechanics framework. Contrary to the finite-element method, the method of this paper does not rely on any predefined mesh representation, and it also incorporates real material properties in the modeling framework. As a result, the haptic interaction produces realistic model behaviour and force feedback. In addition, the framework can be constructed using the actual 3D volume data obtained from various imaging modalities. In this paper, preliminarily implementation issues of this new frame work are discussed and experimental data are compared to the FEM.

Multi-directional multisine microwave power transfer (MDMS-MPT) is proposed that simultaneously transmits mul-tisine signals in multiple directions. In MDMS-MPT, considering the nonlinear characteristics of the MPT system components (PA, rectifier), a low PAPR in the transmitter and a high PAPR in the receiver are required. In this paper, a waveform that satisfies both requirements is presented. Our simulation results demonstrate that some of the proposed waveforms have a lower PAPR at the transmitter than transmitting a continuous wave in each direction. Through an experiment, it is verified that a multi-tone signal with high PAPR can be received from each direction.

3-dimensional (3D) stacked-die package is one of the important package styles for MEMS inertial devices. Its unique packaging brings new challenges for its decapsulation method. In this paper, a new decapsulation method for 3D stacked-die packaged MEMS inertial devices is introduced with method's steps, technical flow and application. This decapsulation method is the combination of laser-decap and multi-steps chemical etching. It reveals the stacked-dies layer by layer and makes the possibility to analyze the structures in the MEMS inertial devices, such as accelerometer, gyroscope, ASIC, etc. It provides good technical support for inner-inspection of 3D stacked-die packaged MEMS inertial devices.

This paper investigates the tracking performance of continuous-time, multi-input multi-output, linear time-invariant systems in which the output feedback is subject to an additive white Gaussian noise corruption. The problem under consideration amounts to determining the minimal error in tracking a Brownian motion random process, which emulates a step reference signal in the deterministic setting. We consider both the unity feedback and two-parameter controllers. In the former case we derive an explicit bound, and in the latter an exact expression of the minimal tracking error attainable under the noise effect. Both results demonstrate how the white Gaussian noise may impede the tracking performance, and how the noise effect may intertwine with such intrinsic characteristics of the plant as unstable poles and nonminimum phase zeros.

Precision grasps with multi-fingered hands are important for precise placement and in-hand manipulation tasks. Searching precision grasps on the object represented by point cloud, is challenging due to the complex object shape, high-dimensionality, collision and undesired properties of the sensing and positioning. This paper proposes an optimization model to search for precision grasps with multi-fingered hands. The model takes noisy point cloud of the object as input and optimizes the grasp quality by iteratively searching for the palm pose and finger joints positions. The collision between the hand and the object is approximated and penalized by a series of least-squares. The collision approximation is able to handle the point cloud representation of the objects with complex shapes. The proposed optimization model is able to locate collision-free optimal precision grasps efficiently. The average computation time is 0.50 sec/grasp. The searching is robust to the incompleteness and noise of the point cloud. The effectiveness of the algorithm is demonstrated by experiments.
