The 790-862 MHz frequency band is allocated for IMT-Advanced system on a co-primary basis operation alongside existing Digital Video Broadcasting- Terrestrial (DVB-T), At WRC-07. As a result of frequency spectrum scarcity and emerging various wireless applications, coexistence and sharing between wireless systems become a recently considerable issue. Therefore, coexistence and sharing requirements must be achieved in terms of both cochannel and adjacent channel frequencies. Coexistence situation is analyzed by using sensitive and non-sensitive spectral emission mask (SEM) of DVB-T. Possible intersystem interference mitigation techniques are suggested.

In this paper, a novel design of digital video player is proposed based on AML8616. With the usage of advanced multimedia processor AML8616, digital video player can play multimedia files in many formats, with many output interfaces, and transmit multimedia files through Ethernet interface. This paper presents the design of hardware according to the characteristics of AML8618 and workflow of the system. Based on the hardware characteristics, the software is designed based on the embedded Linux operating system. The novelties of our proposed work are its powerfulness and simplicity of circuit. This design scheme would be a good reference for the design of digital video player, and it would promote the development of future digital video players.

Industry products in production line need to be printed characters on them. In order to prevent the mistakes of printed characters, the computer vision system is commonly used to recognize the characters on products. Conventional segmentation method cannot correctly separate the characters under the condition of touching characters. In this paper a new method is proposed, which rotates the character image to the horizontal position, and uses the opening operation of morphology to cut the touching characters. Good segmentation and recognition results of characters have been got in experiments.

In this article, I argue for the importance of using specific kinds of concept maps, such as ladders, in a technical writing class offered for computer science majors. This article presents a strong argument that use of concept maps should be effectively integrated both during planning stages and as part of traditional document production techniques. Assignments and activities in a technical writing classroom should address the use of concept maps for conceptualizing, schematizing and presenting procedural information like software documentation, explaining laboratory reports etc. Using concept maps efficiently can lead to structural and functional conceptualization, visualization, representation and retention of complex information. A survey-based study reported in this article suggests that advanced students in an EFL technical thesis writing course in this computer science institute has enough expertise to understand the use and application of specialized concept maps for technical document production activities. Results indicate that students, on most part, understand specialized document-specific, task-specific applications and especially specific sentences in the domain of computer science and self-reports also indicate that they are reasonably confident about their ability to apply ladders in logical ways.

This paper is dedicated to computer simulation of the beautiful art of calligraphy, more precisely, the western and European calligraphy, which is engaged with classical flat-nibbed pens. Current graphics software does not offer enough realism for natural creating of handwritten calligraphic artworks, especially for the spontaneous ones called expressional *** this paper, we introduce an interactive experimental application for simulation of calligraphic creation called HapticCalligraphy. We designed and implemented an effective and intuitive application with the highest possible realism and lifelikeness, which enables an artist to realize the whole creative process on computer. The application assists an artist by determination of strokes' writing trajectories and offers a possibility to export a finished artwork into a vector format for further editing in one of commercial graphics software *** of an attractive and innovative graphical user interface combined with force feedback ranks among the main contributions. Artists work in a haptic virtual environment. Holding the force feedback device, one feels like working with a real pen, senses touching the paper and its surface characteristics. Moreover, the application can be run in stereoscopic mode so the artist can perceive the whole scene spatially.
