From the Cradle of computer graphics at the University of Utah to Pixar Animation Studios, my 50+ year professional career has been a parabola of many groundbreaking projects, as well as startup companies-some that have become household names, including Br empty set derbund Software, Gracenote/SONY, and others. It has been an exciting and rewarding journey not only because of the bleeding edge technology and innovative products I worked on, but also due to the privilege of working with, managing, and leading people in these companies. I reflect on part of this journey in this article and my book "Managing The Unmanageable".

computer graphics have evolved significantly from their earlier forms. They now provide interactivity, enabling users to manipulate object structures using various input devices. The challenge of displaying images of varying sizes on computer screens has been streamlined using computer graphics, which use various algorithms and techniques. computers are powerful tools for generating and manipulating images on display devices. These processes involve software techniques to create, store, modify, and represent images. Therefore, this study aims to describe how computer graphics provide users with a rich visual experience by focusing on image processing and the different types of transformations used in modeling, such as translation, rotation, dilation, and reflection. Additionally, we designed a questionnaire to investigate the students' understanding of geometric transformations in computer graphics.

In their research, the authors actively exploit different branches of geometry. For geometric constructions, computer algebra approaches and systems are used. Currently, we are interested in computer geometry, more specifically, the implementation of computer graphics. The use of the projective space and homogeneous coordinates has actually become a standard in modern computer graphics. In other words, the problem is reduced to the application of analytic projective geometry. The authors failed to find a computer algebra system that could implement projective geometry in its entirety. Therefore, it was decided to partially implement computer algebra for visualization of algebraic relations. For this purpose, the Asymptote system was employed.

"The Origins of computer graphics in Europe," is being published in two parts: Part 1, published in the March/April issue of IEEE computer graphics and Applications (IEEE CG & A), is subtitled "The Beginnings in Germany";Part 2, published in this May/June 2023 issue, is subtitled "The Early Spreading of computer graphics in Europe." I was a participant, contributor, and witness to the events reported here and I relate my personal story along with the broader history. Part 1 describes the origins and successful evolution of computer graphics in Germany, starting in 1965, and includes details of the people and subject matter of the earliest research groups. It describes the efforts undertaken to establish computer graphics as a proper academic discipline, including the founding of EUROgraphics, and creation of institutes for both basic and applied research in computer graphics. Part 2 continues the story with a focus on activities contributing to the growth of the academic and industrial computer graphics communities across Europe and documents the two IFIP workshops held at Seillac and the development of the GKS graphics Standard. Over the years, computer graphics gained respect and importance as a component of the computer science curricula and became an important tool and enabling technology for applications for industry and for the IT market in Europe.

As an evolving technology, computer image processing technology originated in 1980. With the development of this technology, aiming at the defects of professional image processing in the current image processing software, this paper designs and develops a new type of image processing software platform computer system, and optimizes the processing image in the software platform. In addition, this article also optimizes the imaging software architecture design, imaging software platform and imaging plug-in interface design to manage the components and plug-ins of the imaging software platform. With the continuous development of computer technology, the number of users is also increasing, and the demand for products is also increasing, which promotes the development of speech recognition technology. In addition, the built-in voice recognition system also has the advantages of small size, low power consumption, low cost, good portability and high reliability. Therefore, the built-in voice recognition system is larger and has practical value. With the advent of the information age, various technological forms based on digital networks have quickly and effectively penetrated into every corner of social development and life. Craft advertising is an innovation of traditional advertising. This model makes full use of its own interactivity, accuracy and diversity, can effectively make up for the shortcomings of traditional advertising, and surpass traditional crafts through a new expression and communication model. Therefore, this article discusses the application of computer image software technology in embedded voice and craft advertising design.

Against the backdrop of advancing new engineering disciplines, our study performs a detailed and comprehensive analysis of the challenges associated with integrating technology and art into the core course of the major of digital media technology. Aligned with the teaching requirements of the core courses for national first-class undergraduate majors, we dive into teaching strategies, course content structuring, teaching methodologies, and assessment methods for the computer graphics course. Prioritizing the seamless integration with previous and subsequent courses, such as 3D modeling and website design, this initiative aims to construct a computer graphics course that successfully integrates technology and art. Through in-depth teaching practices, we conclude that the teaching effectiveness and quality of the computer graphics course improved significantly with the integration of technology and art. This effort provides valuable insights and references for teaching reform research and talent cultivation programs in teaching computer graphics courses as a core course in the major of digital media technology at the undergraduate level.

Recent studies have showcased the exceptional performance of LLMs (Large Language Models) on assessment questions across various discipline areas. This can be helpful if used to support the learning process, for example by enabling students to quickly generate and contrast alternative solution approaches. However, concerns about student over-reliance and inappropriate use of LLMs in education are common. Understanding the capabilities of LLMs is essential for instructors to make informed decisions on question choices for learning and assessment tasks. In CS (computer Science), previous evaluations of LLMs have focused on CS1 and CS2 questions, and little is known about how well LLMs perform for assessment questions in upper-level CS courses such as CG (computer graphics), which covers a wide variety of concepts and question types. To address this gap, we compiled a dataset of past assessment questions used in a final-year undergraduate course about introductory CG, and evaluated the performance of GPT-4 on this dataset. We also classified assessment questions and evaluated the performance of GPT-4 for different types of questions. We found that the performance tended to be best for simple mathematical questions, and worst for questions requiring creative thinking, and those with complex descriptions and/or images. We share our benchmark dataset with the community and provide new insights into the capabilities of GPT-4 in the context of CG courses. We highlight opportunities for teaching staff to improve student learning by guiding the use of LLMs for CG questions, and inform decisions around question choices for assessment tasks.
