This letter responds to Jallad's (2024) study on immersive virtual reality (VR) applications in nursing anatomy education. While acknowledging the positive outcomes in student satisfaction and self-directed learning, we discuss important considerations regarding implementation modalities, physical comfort, and knowledge retention. Drawing from recent literature, we highlight the need for careful evaluation of delivery methods and suggest incorporating peer-facilitated learning sessions and long-term follow-up assessments. The letter emphasizes the importance of strategic implementation to maximize educational benefits while minimizing potential drawbacks in VR-based anatomy education.

virtual reality is a rapidly expanding topic, both in terms of technological advances and the domains of its applications - also in promoting pro-environmental behaviours or increasing environmental awareness. This study aims to present the research procedure that could enable a comparison of immersive virtual reality and desktop games concerning promoting waste-sorting behaviour in terms of their effectiveness with the use of cognitive neuroscience techniques. The article provides a contribution to the field of waste management by proposing a methodology for investigating the most effective ways of promoting waste-sorting behaviour. While there are some limitations to this approach, the potential benefits can be significant.

In recent years, with the epoch-making development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, new media visual arts have been profoundly influenced in terms of creative ideas, production processes, and the final presentation of works. The question of whether AI can replace creators in image design has become a hot topic of discussion. Concurrently, as a significant form of new media visual arts, virtual reality (VR) imagery has undergone iterative development in production standards and product applications. In many VR image works and applications, we can observe the impact and changes brought about by the development of AI technology. This paper starts from the development and application of AI and VR imaging technology, analyze the integration of these two technologies, and present its own perspective on the creation of VR imagery in the era of AI.

Historical artifacts, as cultural heritages of different times, assist people in understanding the habits and customs of the past. As time progresses, digital archives can be used as a medium to recreate past exhibitions and historical artifacts. Based on the theme of Heterosymbiosis Experimental Exhibition of Tech-Art in 2023, this study uses the Matterport system to conduct a 3D scan of the two-floor exhibition site. It combines virtual reality to create an innovative and immersive experience that provides a profound experiential learning opportunity on the participants and inspires them with knowledge. Additionally, it allows the contents of the exhibition to be permanently preserved as a digital archive.

The single-blind randomized-controlled experimental study aimed to determine the effects of watching nature images through virtual reality (VR) headset on stress, anxiety, and attachment levels of pregnant women with preterm birth threats (PBTs). The participants were 131 primiparous pregnant women admitted to the perinatology clinic due to PBT between April 5, 2022 and July 20, 2022. The intervention group watched videos containing nature images accompanied by nature sounds in six sessions through VR headset three times daily for 2 days. Each session lasted for 5 min. The data were accumulated with the Information Form, Stress Subscale of Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21, State Anxiety Inventory, Prenatal Attachment Inventory, and Information Form of Satisfaction Level of VR Headset. State anxiety and stress levels of pregnant women in intervention group were statistically significantly lower than those in controls. There was no difference in prenatal attachment levels concerning intragroup comparisons of intervention group.

Purpose The Furniture, Fixture and Equipment (FFE) sector is well placed to leverage virtual reality (VR) technology for competitive and operational advantages;however, the diffusion of VR applications in this sector has followed a steep curve. This study reports on the implementation of two novel VR applications in the FFE sector and also investigates the challenges and benefits associated with their use and adaptability. Design/methodology/approach A sequential exploratory mixed research methodology consisting of three phases was adopted for this study. This included identification of factors that affect/facilitate the implementation of VR (Challenges and Benefits) using experiments during in-house prototyping of VR applications, a rigorous literature review and questionnaire survey to solicit FFE Stakeholder's (n = 117) opinion on the utility and usefulness of the proposed applications and to the understand factors that facilitate and inhibit their implementation in FFE's context, particularly as a design communication and coordination tool. Findings The findings of this study revealed that distributed and single-user VR has become essential to digitalising the FFE sector's design communication with improved design communication being regarded as the most important benefit of its use. Conversely, the most critical challenge that inhibits the implementation of these two VR applications in the FFE sector is the perceived cost. Originality/value This study provides valuable insight to FFE's stakeholders to devise action plans to mitigate myriad complex and interrelated factors that affect the adoption of virtual reality technology in the FFE sector that are otherwise very hard to understand, and the consequential implementation of any mitigation plans cannot be devised.

Objective: Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) is crucial for managing head and neck skin cancer. However, variable lymphatic drainage can complicate SLN detection when using Single-Photon Emission Computed To-mography (SPECT) or lymphoscintigraphy. virtual reality (VR) can contribute to pre-operative planning by simulating a realistic 3D model, which improves orientation. VR can also facilitate real-patient training outside the operating room. This study explored using a VR platform for pre-operative planning in head and neck skin cancer patients undergoing SLNBs and assessed its value for residential *** and methods: In this prospective technology pilot study, attending surgeons and residents who per -formed 21 SLNB operations on patients with head and neck skin cancers (81% males, mean age 69.2 & PLUSMN;11.3) used a VR simulation model based on each patient's pre-operative SPECT scan to examine patient-specific anatomy. After surgery, they completed a questionnaire on the efficiency of the VR simulation as a pre -operative planning tool and training device for ***: The attending surgeons rated the VR model's accuracy at 8.3 & PLUSMN;1.6 out of 10. Three-quarters (76%) of residents reported increased confidence after using VR. The physicians rated the platform's contribution to residents' training at 7.4 & PLUSMN;2.1 to 8.9 & PLUSMN;1.3 out of ***: A VR SLNB simulation can accurately portray marked sentinel lymph nodes. It was rated high as a surgical planning and teaching tool among attending surgeons and residents alike and may play a role in pre -operative planning and resident training. Further studies are needed to explore its applications in practice.

Introduction: Port-a-cath procedures are among the most distressing aspects of pediatric cancer treatment. The current study aimed to examine the usability of virtual reality (VR) interventions for children undergoing chemotherapy port-access procedures. Methods: Families (N = 20) of children with cancer, 4-17 years old (M = 8.70 years, SD = 3.71), were recruited. Patients and parents rated patients' dizziness, nausea, pain, and distress, and participants were shown how to use VR prior to the use of the procedure. After port-a-cath access, patients and parents rated pain and distress during the intervention. Semistructured interviews were conducted to examine the usability of the intervention. Result: A significant difference was identified for change in children's pain score for younger children, F(2, 11) = 4.16, p < .05. A significant decrease in fear scores was observed on child and parent reports. The VR headset was used during the procedure by 87.5% of the participants, while the rest used it before but took it off during the procedure, and 85.7% wished to use it again. No concerns were reported by 84.6% of the nurses and 92.3% reported no interference with their workflow. Discussion: More research is needed to fully understand the benefits of VR interventions during children's chemotherapy port procedures. The findings of this pilot study suggest that the use of commercially available VR intervention may reduce children's fear and pain levels during the port-a-cath procedure, especially for younger children.
