To deal with the poor performance of TLC flash devices, some works used hybrid memory combinations to service small random write on faster memory as write buffer. Since the partition size is fixed, the performance improvement is limited. Thus we proposed a Utilization-Driven Mode-Switching design to further improve device performance and overall lifetime. The proposed method was evaluated by simulations, and the experimental results show that we further more improve the performance 10 times comparing to fixed-sized partition method.
