Nowadays,in many developed countries,people drive private vehicles to the nearest metro stations to start their journey and when return back after completing their journey to the metro stations the trend is the *** a result,parking has become a problem around metro stations and leads toroad congestion,especially during peak hours when a lot of vehicles came on the ***,this kind of modes is not our developing countries’good choice,not onlythe traffic jam and pollution,but also the financy *** order to solve this issue,the idea of shuttle bus service is proposed,based on the public transit priority. As one of the most important modes of the urban public transport,the metro has many advantages compared to the ground transit such as high speed,reliable,and it iscommonly used by passengers in big cities *** the other hand,as another irreplaceable mode in the urban public transport,the community shuttle has flexible features and could overcome some insurmountable shortcomings of metros,such as poor accessibility and failing to supply the convenient door-to-door *** on the complementary relationship of the two transit modes,this research aims at developing an efficient and synchronized timetable for community shuttle bus service linked withmetro stations. In this study,asynchronizedtimetable optimization model has been developed with the objective of minimizing passenger’s travel cost(including schedule delay and transfer costs)when the number of vehicle trips and fleet size are both *** constraints,*** vehicle capacity and fleet size,are considered in the *** first constraint is treated as soft,and it is reflected by adding an overloading penalty in the original objective function;while the latter one is handled by a proposed timetable generating method.
