Quality of life in a city is a culmination of personal experiences. These experiences are not only based on our psychological state of mind but also the quality of experience the space tends to create. As we move through the city, we respond to its elements and it certainly affect our psychological being. It is interesting how an informed decision is made to create a thoughtful combination of elements (composition) and how they play a significant role in making people feel happy, comfortable or safe; and how such forms can affect the people and the city as a whole. It is thought-provoking how Allan Jacobs in his book, "Great Streets" raises a point about - Why would you prefer driving from a certain street even if it takes a longer route? - "for a better experience" because these experiences make you feel happy, sad, fearful, angry, or disgust (predominant emotions of an individual). Public spaces are dynamic in nature and each of them function in their own way. This research inclines towards understanding the factors responsible in creating these spaces and the relationship with the surrounding context. The most important factor here are the people and then the setting which creates enough animation for people to respond. Other major factors that functions a public space in a specific manner are the history of the place, socio-cultural values and political influences. These factors including the design of the space influence the behavioral pattern of people in these spaces. The research intends to create a universal method to evaluate urban public spaces irrespective of their geographical locations. Scholars like Carr, Carmona, Van Melik, Kohn, Mehta and many others have conducted some remarkable research on this subject. Although, these studies cover broader factors to evaluate spaces and, therefore, need to be detailed to specific categories. By the end of this research, a method/ process is achieved which works in multiple stages once a public space is identifie

The Clinical Case Report (CCR) is a specialized genre for teaching and research purposes, in which health professionals report the clinical experiences of one or more patients. It is, then, a type of story that contributes to the construction of the identities of healthcare professionals, especially within their professional communities. But these stories also construct an identity of the patients. As in every narrative, in the CCR we find characters, events which they are protagonists of and that affect them, and spaces where they develop. However, unlike any literary text, the CCR is presented as a scientific instrument and, in this sense, it tends to adopt a technical style and, therefore, to limit the identity and spatial details to the minimum necessary to understand the illness and applied therapies. In Catalan, we find good examples of CCR in sectors as diverse as neurology or care for patients with Down syndrome. We will see the treatment of space and how it relates to the patient's identity.

The purpose of this paper is to improve some famous theorems for contractive mapping from ρ(α + β) ∈ [0,1/s) to ρ(α + β) ∈ [0, 1) in ordered cone b-metric spaces over Banach algebras with coefficient s ≥ 1(ρ(x) is the spectral radius of the generalized Lipschitz constant x). Moreover, some similar improvements in ordered cone b-metric spaces are also obtained, which from α + β∈ [0,1/s) to α + β∈ [0, 1). Some examples are given to support that our new results are genuine improvements and generalizations.

A new methodology for multi-step-ahead forecasting was proposed herein which combined the wavelet transform(WT), artificial neural network(ANN) and forecasting strategies based on the changing characteristics of available parking spaces(APS). First, several APS time series were decomposed and reconstituted by the wavelet transform. Then, using an artificial neural network, the following five strategies for multi-step-ahead time series forecasting were used to forecast the reconstructed time series: recursive strategy, direct strategy, multi-input multi-output(MIMO) strategy, DIRMO strategy(a combination of the direct and MIMO strategies), and newly proposed recursive multi-input multi-output(RECMO) strategy which is a combination of the recursive and MIMO strategies. Finally, integrating the predicted results with the reconstructed time series produced the final forecasted available parking spaces. Three findings appear to be consistently supported by the experimental results. First, applying the wavelet transform to multi-step ahead available parking spaces forecasting can effectively improve the forecasting accuracy. Second, the forecasting resulted from the DIRMO and RECMO strategies is more accurate than that of the other strategies. Finally, the RECMO strategy requires less model training time than the DIRMO strategy and consumes the least amount of training time among five forecasting strategies.

One of the key current challenges in urban design and planning worldwide is the notion of “scale”, which is important in various levels of decision making for urban spaces such as squares. How “scale” is defined in the field of design and planning will lead to divergent approaches towards urban spaces, such as adaptation, obeying, alteration, and neglect. In order to create successful urban spaces with suitable scales that respond to users’ expectations, it is necessary to minimize the gap between the subjectivity and objectivity, and to this end, this paper studies the chronological process of such changes in Tehran and their impact on the design of one type of space: the urban square. Furthermore, this paper aims to identify if and how the subjectivity and objectivity of squares in Tehran have been changed as a result of chronological phases of transformation, particularly since the foundation of the city in 1524. The findings reveal how aspects of the city’s squares are disappearing, but need to be revived to achieve socio-cultural sustainability. The main methods applied include a review of the related literature, an appropriate analysis, and direct observation.

In this paper, a presented definition of type-2 fuzzy sets and type-2 fuzzy set operation on it was given. The aim of this work was to introduce the concept of general topological spaces were extended in type-2 fuzzy sets with the structural properties such as open sets, closed sets, interior, closure and neighborhoods in topological spaces were extended to general type-2 fuzzy topological spaces and many related theorems are proved.
