In order to study the topology of the Earth-Mars relaying network with the Sun-Earth Lagrange points L4 and L5 used as the relaying nodes, 0-1 programming model on onehop link and two-hop links was set up, the maximum throughput as the objective function, and total minimum throughput and accumulated connection time of each day as the constraint condition. A network topology is designed for one Earth-Mars tropical year, which can maximize the network throughput. The research can avoid interruption of the communication link when Earth and Mars is superior conjunction, also provides reference to solving the routing problem in Earth-Mars communication network in deep space.

The construction of sewerage systems, treatment plants and submarine outfalls designed for the development of coastal urban areas usually represents a long-lasting and significant investment with the aim of improving environmental conditions of the coastal sea water. The investors must have answers to the following questions before starting any activities: how environmental conditions of the coastal sea can be improved with a limited budget and what is the optimal timing of investment regarding the final concept of the infrastructure for pollution control? Providing answers to these questions is neither an easy nor simple task. Consequently, it is necessary to apply system engineering procedures and adequate optimization techniques. This paper deals with the policy of planning the pollution control infrastructure in the Kastela Bay region.

DNA computing is a new approach to simulate the structure of biological molecules and compute using biotechnology,it creates a precedent of using biochemical reactions as the basis of calculation tools. This is a novel method for solving a class of intractable computational problem. Implicit enumeration is a method of solving integer programming problems,by which the optimal solution can be obtained without explicitly evaluating all of the possible solutions. Based on previous studies,we give the DNA computing model that corresponds to the implicit enumeration method using the fluorescent labeling strategy in the framework of surface-based DNA computing. This method has the advantages of simple encoding,low supplies,short operation time,advanced technology etc..

Supplier selection is increasingly becoming a strategic issue for companies in supply chains and it is usually made by multiple decision makers according to multiple criteria. However, almost all the supplier selection models are based on single-person decision-making and Jay less emphasis on ordinal data. So a multi-criteria group decision-making method is developed for supplier selection with ordinal preferences of alternatives given by decision makers in respect to each criteria considered. At first, the individual ordinal preferences of the alternatives under each criteria were aggregated to the rankings of them for the group by 0-1 programming considering the weights of decision makers. Then the final rankings of the alternatives were derived from the group rankings of them above by 0-1 programming again after the criteria weights were taken into account. An illustrative case and some discussions show the proposed method is effective and simple in computation. This study extends Bernardo's method for multi-criteria decision-making to multi-criteria group decision-making considering the weights of criteria and decision makers with respect to each criteria.

This paper mathematically described the supplies loading problem of military equipment support dispatching force. Through taking all supplies' average loading as the objective function, taking the same kind of supplies group loading, no overweight and overcapacity, no-repeated loading and packing as constraint conditions, optimization model was put forward. And the effectiveness of the model was validated by the example computation.

Enhancements to two exact algorithms from the literature to solve the vertex P-center problem are proposed. In the first approach modifications of some steps are introduced to reduce the number of ILP iterations needed to find the optimal solution. In the second approach a simple enhancement which uses tighter initial lower and upper bounds, and a more appropriate binary search method are proposed to reduce the number of subproblems to be solved. These ideas are tested on two well known sets of problems from the literature (i.e., OR-Lib and TSP-Lib problems) with encouraging results. © Springer 2005.

This paper mathematically described the group selecting problem of intermediate ordnance equipment support agency. Through taking maximizing support ability of the selected group and minimizing support ability differences of each equipment type as the objective function, taking a minimum support ability of equipment, staffing level of the selected group and support agency as conditions, optimization model was put forward. And the effectiveness of the model is validated by the example computation.

Increased competition in the transport market has led to more focus on enterprise's logistics network. To build and improve the integration of logistics network is regarded as the key way to improve supply chain efficiency. This paper firstly focuses on the hub-and-spoke network structure which is widely used in road freight transport system, and by taking into account the restriction of sole service characteristics and service capacity limit, puts forward a hybrid hub-and-spoke network structure to optimize the road freight transport network;then, the paper sets up the total cost model of the network and carries on scientific quantization to every combination of the cost through exhaustive analysis to the cost;lastly, the paper introduces a (0,1) optimization mathematics model to optimize the transit lines based on the lowest total cost of hybrid hub-and-spoke network structure. A practical application to a third-party logistics provider is also described.

According to the characteristics of food waste reverse logistics system, we studied the recovery point location-routing problem. Using the 0-1 programming and the minimal cost-maximal flow graph theory, we established a mathematical model of the food waste reverse logistics system, and find out the location of the recovery point and the route by LINGO language program.

In this paper, a dynamic yard allocation strategy of export containers is proposed based on a hybrid stack mode. Firstly, a 0-1 programming model is developed for the problem. Accordingly, the model's objective function is subject to the minimization of the total re-shuffle containers which are buried beneath other containers but heavier. To resolve the NP-hard problem regarding the dynamic yard allocation model, a hybrid algorithm, which applies heuristic rules and genetic algorithm, is then employed. Subsequently, a case study is used for system illustration. Consequently, it could be found from computational results that this approach paves a venue for resolving the dynamic yard allocation problem of export containers.
