2d vector map Fragile Watermarking with Region Location

Locating the original region of tampered features is a challenging task for existing 2d vector map fragile watermarking methods. This article presents a 2d vector map fragile watermarking framework that locates not only the current but also the original region of tampered feature groups. In particular, we propose dividing the features of the host vector map into groups, and embedding a watermark consisting of location-bits and check-bits into each group at the sender side. At the receiver side, by comparing the extracted and calculated check-bits, one can identify tampered groups and locate their current regions. Then the location-bits extracted from the mapping groups are used to indicate the original regions of the tampered groups. To demonstrate and analyze the applicability of this framework, we instantiate it by proposing a simulated annealing (SA)-based group division method, a group mapping method, a minimum encasing rectangle (MER) based location-bits generation method and a check-bits generation method, and use an existing reversible data hiding method for watermark embedding. The experimental results show that the proposed framework can locate all the regions influenced by tampering, and the SA-based group division method can get a better region location ability.

Topological relation preservation is an important issue for 2d vector map reversible data hiding methods. Using the idea of controllable perturbation region (CPR), we propose a method that preserves topological relations between map objects. In particular, we propose calculating the CPR for each vertex and each line segment, selecting eligible vertices according to the CPRs of the vertex-line segment pairs, and embedding data into the eligible vertices in a reversible manner. Since the embedding operation on an eligible vertex does not change its relation with any line segment, topological relations between map objects can be preserved. Moreover, the calculation of CPRs not only ensures correct data recovery, but also provides good invisibility. We provide experimental results to demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

Technological advancement, paired with the emergence of increasingly open and sophisticated communication systems, has contributed to the growing complexity of copyright protection and ownership identification for digital content. The technique of digital watermarking has been receiving attention in the literature as a way to address these complexities. digital watermarking involves covertly embedding a marker in a piece of digital data (e.g., a vector map, database, or audio, image, or video data) such that the marker cannot be edited, does not interfere with the quality or size of the data, and can be extracted accurately even under the deterioration of the watermarked data (e.g., as a consequence of malicious activity). The purpose of this paper is to describe a watermarking system architecture that can be applied to a 2d vector map. The proposed scheme involves embedding the watermark into the frequency domain, namely, the linear cellular automata transform (LCAT) algorithm. To evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme, the algorithm was applied to vector maps from the Riyadh development Authority. The results indicate that the watermarking system architecture described here is efficient in terms of its computational complexity, reversibility, fidelity, and robustness against well-known attacks.

In this paper, we use a grouping method and feature marking to ensure a good localization accuracy. Then, on the basis of vertex insertion and an embedding strategy that can resist rotation, translation and scaling (RST) attacks, we design a group correlation method. And the RST invariant authentication information are generated with the log-polar transformation (LPT) and encryption technology. We construct two datasets and the invisibility, validity and localization ability are demonstrated through experiments. It can resist the batch features deletion attack accurately and mark out the deleted group.

This paper proposes a fragile watermarking scheme of anti-deleting features for 2d vector map. The features in vector map are first divided into disjoint groups to ensure the accuracy of tamper localization. In order to locate the batch features deletion attack, we design a feature group correlation technique based on vertex insertion. And a watermark is generated by folding the hash results of the differences of the log-radiuses, which is robust to resist rotation, uniform scaling and translation (RST) operations. And we embed the watermark with a RST invariant watermarking method. Two datasets are constructed for experimentation and the results compared with previous methods indicate that the proposed scheme has good invisibility and high tampering localization accuracy on the feature addition and deletion attack.

Several 2d vector map reversible data hiding schemes presented in the literature are not capable of preserving the directional relations between map objects. This weakness may lead to the exposure of the camouflaged secret data to unauthorized parties and attract malicious attacks. In this paper, we propose a method that preserves the directional relations between points in 2d vector maps while sustaining the original content recovery property of reversible data hiding schemes. In particular, we propose sorting the coordinates of each axis, separating the sorted coordinate lists into segments, adding two boundary coordinates to each segment, and embedding data into eligible intervals. While the selection of eligible intervals ensures directional relations preservation between points, the segment division and the addition of boundary coordinates provide good invisibility and high capacity. Block-based Reversible Fragile Watermarking for 2d vector map Authentication

In this paper, the authors propose a block-based reversible watermarking method for 2d vector map authentication. In the scheme, they divide the features of a vector map into different categories of blocks, calculate an authentication watermark for each block, and embed the watermarks of different blocks using a reversible watermarking method based on virtual coordinates and a fragile watermarking algorithm based on concentric circles. While the block division ensures superior accuracy of tamper localization, the two watermarking methods provide recovery of the original content. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme has good invisibility, reversibility and computational complexity, and can accurately locate malicious attacks such as vertex modification/addition/deletion and feature modification/addition/deletion.

Copyright protection and content authentication are security problems affecting applications of geographical information system (GIS) based on two-dimensional vector maps and constitute major obstacles limiting the use of such maps. By permitting original data recovery after watermark extraction, reversible watermark can eliminate such obstacles. Parallel computation models called cellular automata provide an effective approach, yielding intricate outcomes from a basic structure. The various existing types of cellular automata differ in how complex they are and how they behave, since the number of parameters that need to be configured is substantial. Unlike other multimedia forms, 2d vector maps are more difficult to watermark with cellular automata due to their distinct features. To overcome this difficulty, a new approach underpinned by a linear cellular automata (LCA) transform is suggested in this study, comprising development of a new system of coordinates consisting of relative coordinates to yield cover data, embedding an encrypted watermark key in the LSB for every relative coordinate, and LCA transform application to conceal the location of the embedded encrypted watermark key in every relative coordinate. The results confirm the approach can prevent prevalent security risks and provide complex, hidden and reversible computation, thus protecting 2d vector map integrity.

Reversible watermark is suitable for the hosts with high precision requirement. However, the existed reversible watermark methods are mainly for raster images, and the reversible watermark schemes for vector graphics still have the defects such as low capacity and significant distortion. To counterstrike these situations, a reversible watermark scheme for two-dimensional vector map based on reversible contrast mapping is proposed. First, the coordinates of the vertices are chosen according to the data precision requirements;then, the data of two-dimensional vector maps are preprocessed to reduce distortion. After that, the encrypted watermark is embedded into the relative coordinates by using the reversible contrast mapping transform. Experimental results and analysis show that the proposed scheme can achieve higher payload, better reversibility, and invisibility than those of the existed schemes based on difference expansion, discrete cosine transform, and so on.
