In quantitative geological modeling with an artificial neural network approach, time information can be considered as input variable to better describe dynamic evolution patterns of reservoir parameters. Such approach requires independent programming to implements 4d reservoir modeling systems and thus introduces a new research area with great development potential. This paper is dedicated to implement a 4d reservoir modeling system by neural network. It explains the development process with detailed activities vary from determine the execution process and organization structure at one extreme to determine the sequence diagram at the other extreme. Between two extremes besides analyzing essential object class functions, UML modeling language has been used to define the use case model, static structure model and dynamic behavior model. It has practical meaning for further development of eastern oil field in China.

The emerging four-dimensional (4d) modeling techniques have proven benefits to effective construction planning. Still, limitations exist in the lack of an effective approach to support initial construction planning and incorporate workspace modeling in the 4d model development process. This paper presents a graphical planning method (GPM) with workspace representation to overcome the aforementioned limitations. The newly created GPM synergizes the 4d modeling process and the conventional critical path method (CPM) scheduling process with built-in workspace modeling and representation capabilities. The 4d model development process and resulting 4d models are workspace-aware;i.e., construction activities are associated with workspace requirements, and such requirements are explicitly addressed during the modeling process. GPM directly supports the initial planning rather than being just a post-plan review tool. It also forms the base for 4d analytics. By incorporating workspace requirements into the 4d modeling process, GPM is expected to enhance the effectiveness of proactive construction planning.

This paper presents a method for dense 4d temporal alignment of partial reconstructions of non-rigid surfaces observed from single or multiple moving cameras of complex scenes. 4d Match Trees are introduced for robust global alignment of non-rigid shape based on the similarity between images across sequences and views. Wide-timeframe sparse correspondence between arbitrary pairs of images is established using a segmentation-based feature detector (SFd) which is demonstrated to give improved matching of non-rigid shape. Sparse SFd correspondence allows the similarity between any pair of image frames to be estimated for moving cameras and multiple views. This enables the 4d Match Tree to be constructed which minimises the observed change in non-rigid shape for global alignment across all images. dense 4d temporal correspondence across all frames is then estimated by traversing the 4d Match tree using optical flow initialised from the sparse feature matches. The approach is evaluated on single and multiple view images sequences for alignment of partial surface reconstructions of dynamic objects in complex indoor and outdoor scenes to obtain a temporally consistent 4d representation. Comparison to previous 2d and 3d scene flow demonstrates that 4d Match Trees achieve reduced errors due to drift and improved robustness to large non-rigid deformations.

Simple quality assurance method of dynamic tumor tracking with the gimbaled linac system using a light field

We proposed a simple visual method for evaluating the dynamic tumor tracking (dTT) accuracy of a gimbal mechanism using a light field. A single photon beam was set with a field size of 30 x 30 mm(2) at a gantry angle of 90 degrees. The center of a cube phantom was set up at the isocenter of a motion table, and 4d modeling was performed based on the tumor and infrared (IR) marker motion. After 4d modeling, the cube phantom was replaced with a sheet of paper, which was placed perpendicularly, and a light field was projected on the sheet of paper. The light field was recorded using a web camera in a treatment room that was as dark as possible. Calculated images from each image obtained using the camera were summed to compose a total summation image. Sinusoidal motion sequences were produced by moving the phantom with a fixed amplitude of 20 mm and different breathing periods of 2, 4, 6, and 8 s. The light field was projected on the sheet of paper under three conditions: with the moving phantom and dTT based on the motion of the phantom, with the moving phantom and non-dTT, and with a stationary phantom for comparison. The values of tracking errors using the light field were 1.12 +/- 0.72, 0.31 +/- 0.19, 0.27 +/- 0.12, and 0.15 +/- 0.09 mm for breathing periods of 2, 4, 6, and 8s, respectively. The tracking accuracy showed dependence on the breathing period. We proposed a simple quality assurance (QA) process for the tracking accuracy of a gimbal mechanism system using a light field and web camera. Our method can assess the tracking accuracy using a light field without irradiation and clearly visualize distributions like film dosimetry.

We present a new method for taking an urban scene reconstructed from a large Internet photo collection and reasoning about its change in appearance through time. Our method estimates when individual 3d points in the scene existed, then uses spatial and temporal affinity between points to segment the scene into spatio-temporally consistent clusters. The result of this segmentation is a set of spatio-temporal objects that often correspond to meaningful units, such as billboards, signs, street art, and other dynamic scene elements, along with estimates of when each existed. Our method is robust and scalable to scenes with hundreds of thousands of images and billions of noisy, individual point observations. We demonstrate our system on several large-scale scenes, and demonstrate an application to time stamping photos. Our work can serve to chronicle a scene over time, documenting its history and discovering dynamic elements in a way that can be easily explored and visualized.

A 4d parametric motion graph representation is presented for interactive animation from actor performance capture in a multiple camera studio. The representation is based on a 4d model database of temporally aligned mesh sequence reconstructions for multiple motions. High-level movement controls such as speed and direction are achieved by blending multiple mesh sequences of related motions. A real-time mesh sequence blending approach is introduced, which combines the realistic deformation of previous nonlinear solutions with efficient online computation. Transitions between different parametric motion spaces are evaluated in real time based on surface shape and motion similarity. Four-dimensional parametric motion graphs allow real-time interactive character animation while preserving the natural dynamics of the captured performance.

Considering the large scale of work, the need to manage a large number of teams, tight deadlines, highly repetitive operations, and limited profit margin of low-income housing projects, the need to design and simulate production systems in advance has increased. discrete event simulation has been used as a management tool for the analysis of alternative scenarios in construction projects, mostly in academic studies. However, the use of simulation has not been fully explored in the design of the production system in real projects, mainly due to the difficulty of interpreting data, as well as the lack of experience of decision makers in using this tool. Therefore, the use of visual and spatial tools that support the interpretation of simulation data has been suggested in the literature. The aim of this research work is to propose a method for production system design using BIM-4d modeling and discrete event simulation in an integrated way for supporting decision making in low-income housing projects. The methodological approach adopted in this investigation was design science research, which consists of the creation of an artifact for solving classes of problems, and the evaluation of its utility. This method was developed along three empirical studies in which it was conceived and applied. The main contributions of this research work are concerned with a proposal for the integration of discrete event simulation and BIM-4d modeling in the production system design of low-income housing projects, and a discussion on the use of graphical tools to support decision-making. ...

It has been less than a decade that Building Information modeling (BIM) has been used in construction industries. during this short period of time the application of this new modeling approach has increased significantly, but still the main users of such models are architects (for design purposes) and general contractors (for coordination purposes). Most of the BIM applications are developed to meet design and coordination requirements; yet sub-contractors face hassles when using this new technology to model their products, equipment and services in detail. The literature reveals that one of the reasons is they do not have access to the tools and objects they need to model their work within the BIM environment. Temporary structures, such as shoring systems and formworks, are good examples. Although these structures play a significant role in the logistics of the jobsite, there are neither a special tools nor predefined objects in BIM applications to help model these elements. In this case study a real building project has been used to model these temporary structures by two different methods: 1. Using ordinary tools in BIM application (Revit), and, 2. Using predefined parametric families of objects developed and customized for this project. during the modeling process, time has been recorded as well as other observations describing obstacles, advantages, and disadvantages of both methods. The results show that the usage of predefined parametric families speeds up the process of modeling and also helps to create a model which is more understandable and informative than 2d drawings that are currently being used by most of the sub contractors.

Production planning in large-scale industries such as construction and shipbuilding is a key component in the manufacturing process and has a significant effect on the overall cost and schedule of the final product. This is due to the fact that the successful fabrication of these products requires a significant amount of material and resources, all of which must be coordinated and appropriately scheduled. Project scheduling methods have been used to model and schedule activities in these industries with great success. Until recently, spatial resources, such as floor space and interior space, have not been taken into consideration in the planning phase of a project. Traditionally, spatial conflicts have been resolved locally as they occur, often resulting in costly schedule *** thesis develops a framework to model space in a project scheduling problem comprised of installation activities within the interior of a large-scale product. The objective is to find a schedule with near-minimum makespan. The installation project activities are constrained by precedence relationships and limited resource availabilities. Space is modeled as a special resource. The space modeling approach approximates the space required by the activities and uses those space requirements to calculate spatial conflicts. Space conflicts are incorporated via a congestion function, which increases the duration of the installation activities with overlapping spatial requirements, reflecting productivity losses due to interference. The congestion function is based on the conflict volume and the length of time the conflict occurs. A prototype software application is developed from the framework to demonstrate the feasibility of the method. A hypothetical problem and a case study problem are solved using the application. The results show that considering spatial constraints increased the project makespan from 7% to 16% for the hypothetical problems and 35% for the case study *** develope
