In order to solve the problem of renewable power curtailment, the authors put forward a multi-sequencemonthlyunitcombinationoptimizationmethodusingflexibleresources. In addition, an algorithm is proposed to estimate the capacity of peak load shifting of flexibleresources in day-ahead or intraday scheduling. By optimizing various types of flexible resource scheduling in day-ahead or intraday scheduling, the maximum load of the system is lessened,and the limit on the capacity of thermal power units is reduced to improve the system's ability to accommodate renewable power. In the monthlyunitcombinationoptimization model, the total minimum output of thermal power units is introduced into the objective function, which can further reduce the thermal power start-up capacity in the monthly plan to increase the system's spinning reserve and to expand the renewable power accommodation capacity of the *** practical constraints are taken into account. The mixed integer programming and software GLPK are used to program and solve the model. Finally, an example of a provincial grid in north China is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
