The distributed adaptive signal fusion (DASF) framework has been proposed as a generic method to solve spatial filtering and signal fusion problems in a distributed fashion over a wireless sensor network, reducing the communication and energy costs compared to a centralized approach. The DASF framework assumes that there is a common goal across the nodes, i.e., all nodes collaborate to optimize the same network-wide objective function. However, some applications require node-specific objectives, which are linked via a common latent target signal subspace. In this work, we propose the distributed adaptive node-specific signal fusion (DANSF) algorithm which builds upon the DASF framework, and extends it to allow for such node-specific spatial filtering problems. © 2023 European Signal Processing Conference, EUSIPCO. Digital delay filter can realize signal delay of different receiving channelswhich is often used in the field of communication and many scenarios where delay affects signal analysis. At present, the existing delay algorithm is difficult to be directly applied to the scene because it can only delay integer sampling points, or because the algorithm is complex and the convergence speed is slow. For this, this paper improves the existing adaptive algorithm on the basis of Farrow structure and adaptive algorithm. The improved algorithm reduces the calculation amount of each iteration through the approximation method. The change of step length in the iteration process is analyzed mathematically, and the step length change function is constructed. The experimental results show that the improved algorithm reduces the number of iterative convergence by at least 4 times compared with the original algorithm, and has excellent performance in time delay estimation of unknown signals. © 2023 SPIE.

To improve the capacity by a factor of the minimum number of transmit and receive antennas, additional transmit and receive antennas can be utilized to create multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels. Wideband transmission may utilize MIMO-OFDM, an orthogonal form of frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) for MIMO channels, to reduce inter-symbol interference and increase system capacity. In order to increase network performance when non-line-of-sight communications, which are prevalent in densely populated areas, occur, this research offers a suitable adaptive algorithm to be employed in wireless networks based on MIMO OFDM system. On the system's performance, the impacts of multiple pathways signal attenuation, Doppler shift, and various mobility speeds were studied. Utilizing BER, SNR, and noise components, mathematical models analysis of adaptive modulation in MIMO systems is handled. According to simulation data, the adaptive method would increase throughput. Implementation of adaptive algorithms has an improving effect on noise immunity when processing signals in a receiving system under the circumstances of multi-path signal propagation, it can also be concluded. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper provides a new insight into the smooth and precise adaptive railway transport braking system development. The system contains a controller with a control program based on an adaptive control algorithm and a current train braking control system ensures an automatic smooth and precise braking of a train and another controller ensures an automatic stopping of the train before the red light. Some of the adaptive search algorithms are studied and the task is to test and select the most suitable and the most effective of them. The computer model and simulation results are described in this paper.

Three different maximum power point tracking controllers are implemented for a solar photovoltaic system. The MPPTs are based on conventional perturb and observe particle swarm optimization and adaptive LMS algorithm. The adaptive MPPT algorithm is developed based on LMS adaptive algorithm. The studied controllers with the system are implemented on MATLAB. The performance is measured in terms of the settling time, peak overshoot, and oscillation. It is observed the system operation is smooth and steady with adaptive controllers. © Grenze Scientific Society, 2023.

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technology, particularly driven by machine learning, has substantially impacted different industries and daily life. Regrettably, as the machine learning parameters are obtained from the mathematical expressions of datasets, Attackers can use these parameters to deduce sensitive information that the data owner with no intention to disclose reveal. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel approach that utilizes differential privacy technology to safeguard model parameters. It introduces an adaptive algorithm that provides differential privacy protection to machine learning. More specifically, this paper utilizes truncated concentrated differential privacy (tCDP) to perturb gradients in the local model training process of participants. Additionally, the algorithm incorporates adaptive step sizes and dynamic privacy budget adjustment techniques to enable the flexible distribution of privacy budgets. Based on the experimental and privacy analyses, the algorithm presented in this paper outperforms DP-AGD, thereby ensuring model effectiveness while preventing privacy leakage in the local models of the participating parties. © 2023 IEEE.

We develop and analyze a general technique for learning with an unknown distribution drift. Given a sequence of independent observations from the last T steps of a drifting distribution, our algorithm agnostically learns a family of functions with respect to the current distribution at time T. Unlike previous work, our technique does not require prior knowledge about the magnitude of the drift. Instead, the algorithm adapts to the sample data. Without explicitly estimating the drift, the algorithm learns a family of functions with almost the same error as a learning algorithm that knows the magnitude of the drift in advance. Furthermore, since our algorithm adapts to the data, it can guarantee a better learning error than an algorithm that relies on loose bounds on the drift. We demonstrate the application of our technique in two fundamental learning scenarios: binary classification and linear regression. © 2023 Neural information processing systems foundation. We consider the group testing problem over probabilistic community-oriented infection models, which have attracted significant attention in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. To the best of our knowledge, existing theoretical results on the complexity of group testing in such settings are derived under the assumption that tests are noiseless. We present novel upper and lower bounds for the noisy case, focusing on adaptive group testing schemes tailored to the community structure of the population. For the achievability result, we devise an algorithm which incorporates knowledge of the community structure into a noisy binary search procedure from [1]. Our algorithm exhibits favorable performance in the context of the recently-introduced stochastic block infection model [2]. Furthermore, our lower bound applies to any adaptive algorithm, any probabilistic infection model, and any (noisy or noiseless) testing model satisfying certain natural criteria, and thus can be of independent interest. © 2023 IEEE.

The innovative, active balancing system AB 9000 is a device that very effectively reduces fan vibrations due to unbalances caused by incrustations. This significantly increases the availability of the respective machines and prevents expensive production losses. Because of its annular form, the system can easily be integrated into existing fans. Thanks to the implementation of adaptive algorithms in a fast electronic unit, a complete balancing operation - even in very large systems - only takes a few minutes. The system has already been installed with success on different fans. © 2022 Verlag Stahleisen GmbH. All rights reserved.
