adaptive learning systems personalize instruction to students' individual learning needs and abilities. Such systems have shown positive impacts on learning. Many schools in the United States have adopted adaptive learning systems, and the rate of adoption in China is accelerating, reaching almost 2 million unique users for one product alone in the past 3 years. Given such rapid adoption in China, it is useful to examine the efficacy of adaptive learning within that country's educational system. This study aimed to compare the learning impacts of individualized adaptive learning courseware to two common instructional approaches in China: large-group and small-group classroom instruction. This paper describes the results of two efficacy studies of one of China's first adaptive learning systems, Squirrel AI learning. One study compares classroom-based individualized adaptive learning instruction to large-group instruction, and another to small-group instruction. Chinese eighth-grade students from two provinces randomly assigned to use Squirrel AI learning showed greater gains on a mathematics test than those randomly assigned to whole-class or small-group instruction led by expert teachers. Findings provide a basis for further research into the selection, use, and impact of adaptive learning systems in Chinese education.

In the current era, many sectors have changed, including the education sector. With the support of the development of technology and information, it has resulted in changes in business processes in the world of education. Switch from traditional learning models to electronic learning models. Providing learning with the same learning method mechanism for all individuals will reduce the individual's right to receive learning. So that the electronic learning model has shifted to a personal and open learning system, namely learning with the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). Based on these conditions, appropriate models and techniques are needed to achieve student-oriented learning. The purpose of this study is to identify and classify general criteria for adaptive learning system models in the MOOC system. The method used in this research is through literature studies on papers published in the last five years (2016-2020). The results showed a general model that is often used as a basis for developing adaptive learning, so that it can be used for further research and development.

With the promotion of online education, the adaptive learning system has attracted attention due to its good curriculum recommendation function. The student model is an important interface between the adaptive learning system and the user, reflecting the individual characteristics, knowledge status, and cognitive ability of the student. The accuracy of the information in the student model directly affects the quality of the system recommendation service. The traditional student model only judges students based on the basic information and simple test scores. This paper introduces the self-adaptive item bank and adaptive item selection strategy based on the cognitive diagnosis theory that dynamically detects the students' knowledge and analyzes the state according to the answering habits and knowledge mastering status of different students. This paper analyzes and contrasts a variety of traditional cognitive diagnosis theories and proposes a mixed cognitive diagnosis question bank and a selection strategy model to provide strong support for the construction of student models.

Today, the integration of web services and agent technology into Internet applications has attracted the attention of many researchers, so that these applications allow a web service to call an agent service and vice versa. Web services are emerging and promising technologies for the development, deployment and integration of the Internet applications and the use of agents makes them dynamic and automatic, they can provide updates when there is new information available and improve the qualities of web services by exploiting the capacities and the characteristics of agents. In this context, we propose a prototype of a multi-agent adaptive learning system based on Incremental Hybrid Case Based Reasoning in order to support the learner in his learning process by offering him a learning path adapted to his profile and predict his future learning. This support will be achieved through the execution of a hybrid cycle of Case Based Reasoning which brings together a set of agents collaborating and interacting with each other to provide specific services.

With the deepening of globalization and the increasing amount of information in international communication, requirements for accuracy in interpretation of figures are more demanding. Training methods in interpretation of figures, however, are not efficient enough for interpreters to cope with the challenges. They still make mistakes in interpretation of large integers, fractions and percentages. The types of errors include omission, syntactic error and lexical error. In this paper, machine learning based text categorization technology is used to accurately categorize a large number of texts and provide high-quality training materials for interpreters. Results show that training the interpreters with categorized texts has greatly improved the accuracy, familiarity and sensitivity in interpretation of figures. In the era of artificial intelligence, problems in interpretation also need to be solved by artificial intelligence. In the future, a large number of artificial intelligence technologies similar to machine-learning-based text categorization technology will be inevitably adopted in the field of interpretation.

adaptive learning systems offer personalized learning experience to students' characteristics and abilities. Studies have shown these systems can be effective learning tools. Many schools in the United States have adopted adaptive learning systems. Yet development of such systems is still in the early stage in China, and little empirical evidence exists on their efficacy. This paper describes an adaptive learning system, YiXue, and presents two studies that were conducted in China to establish the promise of YiXue adaptive learning platform and two comparison learning platforms used in an after-school English language arts course. The results were promising: student learning efficiency was significantly higher with YiXue than with the comparison platforms. Survey responses suggested that students in the treatment group felt more positive about their learning experience.

The advent of Web 2.0 has contributed to the development of adaptive learning by expanding its possibilities for interaction such as personalization;It has also enabled it to involve a considerable variety of artificial intelligence technologies. An adaptive learning system allows the presentation of learning materials to be tailored to needs, the characteristics and learning styles of learners and the dynamic change in the learning environment, by offering them personalized paths in real time and predicting dynamic learning situations. To ensure this intelligent customization and improve the quality of adaptation, we propose an architecture of a Multi-Agent adaptive learning system based on Incremental Hybrid Case-Based Reasoning (IHCBR) to make the right decision in real time in the face of a current learning situation, using both the execution of a classical cycle (linear process) and a dynamic cycle (dynamic process) of Case-Based Reasoning. This decision will be made by assigning each step of the Incremental Hybrid Case-Based Reasoning at least one agent who ensures a precise task and collaborates with other agents to follow dynamically the learner during the learning process by offering them a personalized real-time learning path.
