This work proposes a novel methodology to modify the way in which the computations of the abc-dq-abc transformation are performed to avoid the use of trigonometric calculations with the objective of reducing the computational burden and time when implemented in digital signal processing hardware. The entries of the direct and inverse transformation matrices are manipulated to match the output components of an adaptive notch filter. Results using two digital signal processor boards show that the proposal allows to accurately compute the corresponding dq quantities, while significantly reducing the computation time when compared to a synchronous reference frame transformation with a phase-locked loop;the number of required signals is reduced in some cases. A test example of a proportional-integral controller is used to show the applicability of the proposal;however, it can also be used in a variety of systems where the abc-dq-abc transformation is needed. Accurate frequency estimation is crucial in various technological domains, including telecommunications, power systems, and biomedical engineering. Traditional methods often struggle in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and impulsive noise environments. This paper proposes an improved Oscillator-Based adaptive notch filter (OSC-ANF) algorithm that integrates the exponential error scaling of the Maximum Correntropy Criterion (MCC) into the Noise Robust OSC-ANF (NR-OSC-ANF) framework. This integration leverages the robustness of NR-OSC-ANF in low SNR settings and enhances resistance to impulsive noise. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms traditional OSC-ANF and MCC-OSC-ANF algorithms in both low SNR and impulsive noise conditions.

Coriolis mass flowmeter has been widely used in the energy field, and the key of mass flowrate measurement is to calculate the frequency and phase difference of the signal accurately. Aiming at the poor measurement precision problem in Coriolis mass flowmeter, a novel Coriolis mass flowmeter signal processing method is presented based on adaptive notch filter and Hilbert transform. Firstly, the long time continuous frequency tracking and accuracy problem of adaptive notch filter is effectively solved, by introducing the idea of negative feedback control. Then, the frequency estimation results are used to judgment whether the whole data will be extended or not, which makes the length of data sequence close to or equal to an integer multiple of the period. And then, Hilbert transform is conducted to the extended signals. Finally, the phase difference can be obtained by utilizing the sinusoidal functions. Simulation results show that the proposed method has high frequency and phase difference estimation accuracy, and it can be used for real time flowrate measurement of flowmeter. Experimental tests validate that the precision of this method is less than 3h, which is more than 2 times of that of the traditional method. O 2022 Published by Elsevier Ltd. A Current Harmonic Suppression Method for PMSM Based on Harmonic Prediction adaptive notch filter

The adaptive filters (ANF) have been commonly used in current harmonic suppression. However, the digital delay will narrow the stability region and its harmonic suppression performance will be deteriorated at high-speed region. To overcome this problem, this paper proposed two modified ANF. Combining with the deadbeat current (DBC) controller, the effect of digital delay on ANF is analyzed. A simple one step harmonic prediction method (OSPANF) is proposed to replace the traditional steepest gradient method (SGM). Based on the OSPANF, the current can be controlled stably in the high-speed area and the harmonic suppression effect is better than the traditional notch filter. Through bode diagram analysis, OSPANF will have a harmonic amplification peak near the set notch frequency, which may bring additional disturbances. Thus, a two steps prediction adaptive notch filter (TSPANF) is implemented. Through the Experimental results, it can be proved that the proposed TSPANF method has better harmonic suppression effect in the high-speed area than OSPANF and the stability region of the proposed two methods is larger than the traditional method.

Research on SSO Suppression Strategy of Grid-Forming D-PMSG Based on adaptive notch filter

Subsynchronous oscillations (SSOs) within the power grid can compromise the control efficacy of the grid-side converter for direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous generators (D-PMSGs) operating in grid-forming mode. Consequently, the system's stability is at risk. To mitigate this problem, an adaptive notch filter (ANF)-based strategy for SSO reduction has been introduced. Initially, the effects of grid-based SSOs on the grid-side control of D-PMSGs, utilizing virtual synchronous machines, were investigated, including the analysis of how SSO characteristics influence the efficacy of notch filters. Subsequently, an algorithm for SSO parameter identification was developed, enhancing the fast Fourier transform (FFT) to accommodate the dynamic frequency changes of SSOs. This led to the creation of an ANF center frequency updating approach, which was informed by the parameter identification results. The most effective location for ANF intervention within the control system was also identified. The proposed control strategy's capability to suppress SSOs was validated through the development of simulation models and the establishment of experimental setups.

Multi-Parameter adaptive notch filter (MPANF) for Enhanced Interference Mitigation

Interference signals degrade global navigation satellite system (GNSS) per- formance and must be mitigated. Chirp signals can be mitigated with an adaptive notch filter (ANF), but the dynamic behavior limits performance. An ANF determines the instantaneous frequency and removes interference with a notch filter. However, there are several limitations. In this article, we propose a multi-parameter adaptive notch filter (MPANF) approach that sig- nificantly enhances conventional ANFs. First, it uses an loop-bandwidth control algorithm (LBCA) to alter the loop bandwidth of an frequency-locked loop (FLL)-based adaptation algorithm to facilitate superior tracking agility-to-precision trade-off. Second, it dynamically adjusts the notch depth to switch on interference mitigation or pass the signal through. Third, it modifies the notch width to accommodate tracking stability and optimize interference signal suppression to GNSS signal removal. The presented MPANF exhibits superior performance against chirp signals, including faster response to jump discontinuities.

adaptive notch filter for Piezo-Actuated Nanopositioning System via Position and Online Estimate Dual-Mode

Due to the excellent advantages of high speed, high precision, and driving force, piezoelectric actuators nanopositioning systems have been widely used in various micro/nanomachining fields. However, the inherent resonance dynamic of the nanopositioning system generated by the flexure-hinge greatly deteriorates the positioning performance and limits the closed-loop bandwidth. Even worse, the notch filter for eliminating the effect of resonance does not work due to the varying resonant frequency resulting from the external disturbance or mass load. To this end, an adaptive notch filter for piezo-actuated nanopositioning system via position and online estimate dual-mode (POEDM) has been proposed in this paper, which can estimate the varying resonant frequency in real-time and suppress the resonance to improve the closed-loop bandwidth. First, a novel variable forgetting factor recursive least squares (VFF-RLS) algorithm for estimating resonant frequency online is presented, which is robust to the noise and provides the performances of both fast tracking and stability. Then, a POEDM method is proposed to achieve the online identification of the resonant frequency in the presence of noise and disturbance. Finally, a series of validation simulations are carried out, and the results indicate that, the frequency of input signal and the bandwidth have been achieved up to 12.5% and 87.5% of the first resonant frequency, respectively.

In this study, to suppress the vehicle-guideway coupled vibration with variable frequencies, an adaptive notch filter is designed for a maglev train on different elastic supporting beams at a low speed. By the analysis of the vibration signals from sensors of suspension control system, the effective frequency band of the vibration signals is determined firstly. Then the vibration frequency is real-time searched and identified with high resolution as the center frequency of a small effective bandwidth notch filter. Finally, the designed adaptive notch filter with the identified signal frequency, which always runs automatically, is used in a closed-loop control system of permanent-electro magnetic suspension-type maglev train. Theoretical analysis and simulation experiments show that the adaptive notch filter can restrain the resonance phenomenon on different elastic supporting beams effectively.

The existing adaptive notch filter (ANF)-based frequency estimation methods have problems of slow convergence speed, unstable error and limited selection of iterative initial values. In this paper, a frequency estimation method based on the indirect average plain gradient algorithm is proposed. It uses a new error function applied to the second-order adaptive Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) notch filter. The proposed error function is the mean value of the weighted average of the squares of the two signals outputted by Finite Impulse Response (FIR) and IIR sections of the ANF. It has better gradient characteristics, and arbitrary initial value can be selected for the following iterative calculation. The theory and simulation show that the proposed algorithm, compared with other indirect gradient algorithm, improves the convergence speed and estimation accuracy with little addition of the computation, while it is superior in varying-frequency signal tracking performance.

In order to achieve the high precision head-positioning of the voice coil motor (VCM) actuator with narrow track pitch, the adaptive notch filter based limited-search-range of particle swarm optimization (PSO), as well as the fixed-structure propor-tional-integral-derivative H-infinity robust loop shaping controller using the concept of four closed loop disturbance norms is proposed. Generally the conventional method, fixed-frequency notch filter (FFNF), is combined with the nominal plant to reduce the effect of the mechanical vibration resonance;however, the resonance mode of servo system can be shifted with various factors such as the ambient temperature change, and the unbalanced disk. In addition, mathematical solving in the H-infinity robust control problems and the suitable notch filter design are very complex and the final results of the conventional controller with notch filters are normally complicated structure and high order which is difficult to implement. Thus, the adding of intelligent system in the proposed design with the careful range of the search space is utilized to suppress the vibration caused by resonance mode shifting and also reduce the order of the final robust controller. Simulation results of six scenarios test demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design compared with FFNF in the commercial product.
