When infrared focal plane array imaging system detects targets, especially small targets, there is the problem of low gray resolution. In this paper, an adaptive scene-based gray super-resolution technique is proposed, aiming to solve the problem. The paper gives a detailed description on the method of image gray super-resolution by adjusting the signal sample range in infrared focal plane array (IRFPA) imaging system. The method contains the following three parts: extracting the effective gray range from the scene, and obtaining the basis of super-resolution adjustment;providing the adjusting parameters after filter-predicting the basis of adjustment, combining with the adaptive LMS-based filtering algorithm;and completing gray super-resolution by controlling the parameters in super-resolution circuit. Finally, the total solution is experiment validated. The experiment in infrared focal plane array imaging system has proven the feasibility and effectiveness of this method, and the improvement of super-resolution. Then test set shows the MRTD can be increased more than one time.

An amended LMS Newton algorithm is proposed which create the nonlinear functional relation of the step factor mu and the error signal e(n). And the next we discuss the factors in the amended algorithm and the performance in the different IF environment. The algorithm is simple and easy to be implemented, Theoretical analysis and computer simulation show that the properties of the algorithm such as convergence speed, and steady state error ate better than those of SVSLMS algorithm.

The paper discusses the conditions of an odd symmetry in linearly-constrained least squares criterion adaptive array. It is shown, that the vectors, which optimal weight vector of such adaptive array consists of, and the optimal vector itself, have an odd symmetry, i.e. pairs of symmetrical elements of the vectors are complex-conjugated. To ensure this property, the vector of constrains (radiation pattern values in directions of interest) has to be specified as a real-valued ones. The odd symmetry allows to calculate the weights of the adaptive array in real-valued arithmetic at the cost of two or four times less number of arithmetic operations, comparing with similar calculations, based on complex-valued arithmetics. adaptive algorithms, based on real-valued arithmetics, provide a 1.5 ... 2 times shorter transient response and a 2 ... 3 dB deeper notches in the steady-state radiation pattern towards interference sources comparing with complex-valued algorithms.

This project intends to take Argo buoy as the research object, and use big data means to build a set of highly reliable Marine observation network data and processing platform. This project intends to use the idea of 'space surface filling' to reduce the dimension of multidimensional buoy data. A table structure suitable for Argo buoy set was constructed to realize the diversity retrieval of massive Argo buoy set. By comparing with classical database reading and writing, its high efficiency is tested. The distortion of echo data under different water depths is simulated, and an adaptive matching filter method is proposed to further improve the accuracy of water depth measurement. © 2024 IEEE.

In the next-generation wireless communication systems, the broadband signal transmission over wireless channel often incurs the frequency-selective channel fading behavior and also results in the channel sparse structure which is dominant by very few large coefficients. To ensure the stable wireless propagation, various linear adaptive channel estimation algorithms, e.g., recursive least square (RLS) and least mean square (LMS), have been developed. However, the traditional algorithms are unable to exploit the channel sparsity. Supporting by the compressive sensing (CS) theory, channel estimation performance can be further improved by taking advantage of the sparsity. In this paper, RLS based fast adaptive sparse channel estimation algorithm is proposed by introducing two sparse constraint functions, L1-norm and L0-norm. To improve the flexibility of the proposed algorithms, this paper introduces a regularization parameter selection method to adaptively exploit the channel sparsity. Finally, Monte Carlo based computer simulations are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms based robust channel estimation either for sparse or non-sparse channel.

A novel LMSRE-based adaptive PI control scheme for grid-integrated PMSG-based variable-speed wind turbine

This article proposes a novel adaptive control scheme based on proportional-integral (PI) controllers and new adaptive filtering algorithm called the least mean square root of exponential (LMSRE) algorithm. Firstly, the proposed LMSRE algorithm is applied to unknown system identification then it is compared with other benchmarks algorithms such as least mean square (LMS), least mean fourth (LMF), and continuous mixed p-norm (CMPN). Secondly, the LMSRE is applied to self-tune the parameters of the cascaded PI controllers to improve the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and fault ride-through ability (FRTA) of grid-integrated permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) based wind turbines. Then, the robustness of LMSRE-PI and LMS-PI controllers are tested under real measured wind speed data and severe fault conditions. The simulation results revealed that the LMSRE-PI achieved better dynamic and transient responses than the LMS-PI controllers. With the proposed control scheme, the performance of variable speed wind turbines can be further enhanced.

A fast RLS algorithm for second-order Volterra filter is analyzed. And the contradiction between speed and accuracy of convergence is revealed. The modified RLS algorithm is presented by substituting constant forgetting-factor with function of forgetting-factor constructed in this paper. The rules for constructing forgetting-factor function and the method for selecting parameters is discussed. Finally, a numerical example shows that the modified RLS algorithm result in faster convergence speed by solving the contradiction between speed and accuracy.

The angular stability of the double-crystal monochromator (DCM) directly affects the positional stability of the focused spot. This paper describes the active vibration control (AVC) method of the DCM of P2 Experimental Station at SSRF based on the adaptive filtering algorithm and the AVC system improves the performance of by optimizing the filter weight estimation algorithm. The simulation results show that the amplitude of the crystal in the pitch direction is greatly reduced by the AVC method, the RMS value of the angular displacement in the pitch direction of the crystal is 1.23 nrad, which is 91.93% lower than the passive vibration control (the RMS value of the angular displacement in the pitch direction is 15.25 nrad);the RMS value of the angular displacement in the pitch direction of the optimized AVC system is 0.233 nrad, which is 98.47% lower than that of the passive vibration control method. The AVC method can effectively ensure the angular stability of the DCM in the pitch direction, which is of great significance for the key equipment of the new generation of synchrotron radiation light source to achieve nano-radian stability.

In this paper, 2 recursive least square-based fast adaptive sparse channel estimation algorithm is proposed by introducing sparse constraints, L1-norm and L0-norm, respectively. To improve the flexibility of the proposed algorithms, this paper introduces a regularization parameter selection method to adaptively exploit the channel sparsity. Finally, Monte Carlo-based computer simulations are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

OPTIMAL NODES COMBINATION OF A WAVELET PACKET TREE FOR PHONOCARDIOGRAM SIGNAL ANALYSIS

In order to extract pathological features of phonocardiogram signal (PCG) accurately, a study was proposed in this paper to select the most informative nodes combination of a wavelet packet tree as a basis for feature extraction. The basic function of this work computes the optimal sub tree of an initial wavelet packet tree with respect to an entropy type criterion. The resulting tree may be much smaller than the initial one and use this selection of a wavelet packet tree to generate an adaptive filter for PCG signal. The proposed function could be utilized in different signal processing applications by adapting the exclusion criteria based on the signals characteristics. It could be indicated particularly for PCG signals and all signals of a small range of frequencies.
