It is well known that it is necessary to store the system input and output of previous trial for generating the input at the current trial in the design of iterative learning controllers. In order to apply the iterative learning controller for a real application and reduce the memory size for implementation, a current error based sampled-data iterative learning controller is presented in this paper for systems with initial resetting error, input disturbance and output measurement noise. The proposed iterative learning controller is simple and effective. One of the main contributions is to prove the convergence of learning error via a rigorous technical analysis. It is shown that the learning error will converge to a residual set if a forgetting factor is introduced. Another contribution is to realize the iterative learning controller by a digital circuit using an FPGA chip with the application to a repetitive position tracking control of DC motors. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed current error based sampled-data iterative learning controller are demonstrated by the experiment results. The relation between the learning performance and the design parameters are also discussed.

The research paper presents the results of a static analysis of selected geodesic domes. Geodesic domes are spherical architectonic structures formed by triangular, presenting great sturdiness while keeping the structure very light. Geodesic domes, especially single-layered, due to their small mass compared to the applied loads must be carefully analysed, not only with respect to statistics, but also subject to modal analysis. The basis for generating geodesic domes rod can be polyhedra shapely such as octahedron or icosahedron. In the first part of the paper presented the historical development of geodesic domes. The last issue showed in the work is the presentation of the results and conclusions of the analysis carried out on geodesic domes with the base of octahedron and icosahedron, depending on the density of geodetic division. Domes were loaded with its own weight and the effect of the wind.

The MapReduce paradigm has become ubiquitous within Big Data Analytics. Within this field, Social Networks exist as an important area of applications as it relies on the large scale analysis of graphs. To enable the scalability of Social Networks, we consider the application of MapReduce design patterns for the determination of graph-based metrics. Specifically, we detail the application of a MapReduce-based solution for the metric of betweenness-centrality. The prevailing concept is separation of the graph topology from the actual graph analysis. Here, we consider the chaining of MapReduce jobs for the estimation of shortest paths in a graph as well as postprocessing statistics. Through our design pattern, we are able to leverage BigData Technologies to determine metrics in the context of ever expanding internet-based data resources.

We look at the problem of network wide broadcast using the multi-rate feature of a wireless ad hoc network. Existing research has primarily focused on achieving minimum latency by construction of minimum weight connected dominating sets (WCDS) based on neighbourhood information. In this paper, we are interested in stateless multi-rate broadcasting algorithms in which nodes determine their broadcasting behaviour based on neighbourhood transmissions. The primary contribution of this paper is that we show how broadcast effectiveness at different data rates are related and how this relationship can be used to optimize algorithm design. We propose three stateless broadcasting algorithms and demonstrate the performance improvements achievable. Our simulation results show that significant benefits can be obtained in terms of minimizing both the number of forwarding nodes as well as the broadcast latency.

The Use of Harmonic analysis in Suboptimal Estimator design

The state estimation problem for bilinear stochastic systems evolving on the spheres S'n, the special orthogonal groups SO(n), and certain other compact Lie groups and homogeneous spaces is considered. The problem is motivated by some applications involving rotational processes in three dimensions. The theory of harmonic analysis on compact Lie groups is used to define assumed density approximations which result in implententable suboptimal estimators for the state of the bilinear system. The results of Monte Carlo simulations are reported;these indicate that simple filters designed by these techniques perform well as compared to other filters. In the past few years, as an alternative for time-triggered control, event-triggered control (ETC) has been investigated for networked control systems (NCS). ETC is a control strategy where the control algorithm is executed only when a special condition is satisfied. In this paper, a solution to find an appropriate bandwidth for event-based control systems over wireless networks is proposed. Moreover, it is shown how the delay bound of network can be affected by control system. These two results are achieved by applying network calculus theorem to a control system. For efficient use of network resources, a new triggering algorithm is proposed. An advantage of proposed algorithm is that the minimum time between two consecutive events is considered as a designable control parameter and it can guarantee a lower bound on input traffic to the network. An illustrative case study of a NCS based on IEEE 802.15.4 protocol is presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed event-triggered algorithm and investigate the effect of bandwidth allocation on NCS.

Congestion control can be regarded a distributed system, which consists of source algorithm like TCP, and link algorithm, such as active queue management (AQM). Shadow price has been derived from optimization theory to be implemented in routers as the AQM algorithm. In this paper, a control theoretic approach to analysis and design of the price is presented to enhance the AQM performance. We analyze the dynamics of random exponential marking (REM) and propose an efficient price-based AQM algorithm. The proposed method uses an effective price with proportional-integral-derivative (PID) property to detect and control congestion proactively. Online learning rules are introduced to adjust the parameters of the effective price for improving adaptability and robustness in nonlinear and time-varying networks. The stability of the system is also analyzed via the Lyapunov stability theory. By extensive simulations, the results verify that our proposed method outperforms many competitive AQM schemes in terms of stability, response and robustness under various network scenarios. The proposed method is able to maintain stable queue size, small jitter, low packet loss and improves the trade-off between queuing delay and link utilization.

This paper deals with the consensus problem of linear systems from an integral perspective considering the dynamics of the agents and graph theoretical descriptions of the network. A consensus algorithm is defined as the interaction of two properties inherent to a network: hierarchical organization and information exchange. From this definition the problem is tackled as the stability of some coordination variables by means of Lyapunov functions and LMI methodology. This approach allows to define precision and speed indicators to evaluate the performance of different algorithms related to the agents' dynamics. The main characteristics of this approach are discussed with the help of the consensus canonical example of double integrator systems and complemented with an analysis and design example.

And power analysis is the chief method In this paper, an improved architecture for RSA system against power analysis was proposed based on its basic theory. A DPA attack for RSA specially, is discussed in details, and the shadow technology was proposed based on it. In order to maximize the capability/cost, Shadow technique and removing intermediate value technique are introduced into RSA system, which only cost more than 30% timing to realizing secure RSA algorithm. Contemporary the effectiveness of advanced RSA cryptography system was illuminate briefly.

With gate counts of ten million, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) are becoming suitable for floating-point computations. Addition is the most complex operation in a floating-point unit and can cause major delay while requiring a significant area. Over the years, the VLSI community has developed many floating-point adder algorithms aimed primarily at reducing the overall latency. An efficient design of the floating-point adder offers major area and performance improvements for FPGAs. Given recent advances in FPGA architecture and area density, latency has become the main focus in attempts to improve performance. This paper studies the implementation of standard; leading-one predictor (LOP); and far and close datapath (2-path) floating-point addition algorithms in FPGAs. Each algorithm has complex sub-operations which contribute significantly to the overall latency of the design. Each of the sub-operations is researched for different implementations and is then synthesized onto a Xilinx Virtex-II Pro FPGA device. Standard and LOP algorithms are also pipelined into five stages and compared with the Xilinx IP. According to the results, the standard algorithm is the best implementation with respect to area, but has a large overall latency of 27.059 ns while occupying 541 slices. The LOP algorithm reduces latency by 6.5% at the cost of a 38% increase in area compared to the standard algorithm. The 2-path implementation shows a 19% reduction in latency with an added expense of 88% in area compared to the standard algorithm. The five-stage standard pipeline implementation shows a 6.4% improvement in clock speed compared to the Xilinx IP with a 23% smaller area requirement. The five-stage pipelined LOP implementation shows a 22% improvement in clock speed compared to the Xilinx IP at a cost of 15% more area.
