Generating Virtual Network Embedding Problems With Guaranteed Solutions

The efficiency of network virtualization depends on the appropriate assignment of resources. The underlying problem, called virtual network embedding, has been much discussed in the literature, and many algorithms have been proposed, attempting to optimize the resource assignment in various respects. Evaluation of those algorithms requires a large number of randomly generated embedding scenarios. This paper presents a novel scenario generation approach and demonstrates how to produce scenarios with a guaranteed exact solution, thereby, facilitating better evaluation of embedding algorithms.

Optimal Configuration of Virtual Links for Avionics Network Systems

As the bandwidth and scalability constraints become important design concerns in airborne networks, a new technology, called Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet (AFDX), has been introduced and standardized as a part 7 in ARNIC 664. However, since previous research interests for AFDX are mainly bounded for analyzing the response time where flows information is given, configuration problem for both Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) and Bandwidth Allocation Gap (BAG) over virtual links in AFDX networks has not been addressed yet even though it has great impact on required bandwidth. Thus, in this paper, we present two configuration approaches to set MTU and BAG values on virtual links efficiently while meeting the requirement of AFDX. The first is to search available feasible configuration (MTU, BAG) pairs to satisfy application requirements as well as AFDX switch constraints, and the second is to get an optimal pair to minimize required bandwidth through well-known branch-and-bound algorithm. We analyze the complexity of the proposed algorithm and then evaluate the proposed algorithm by simulation. Finally, we prove that the proposed schemes are superior to general approach in the aspects of speed and required bandwidth in AFDX networks.

Neural network based dynamic modeling of flexible-link manipulators with application to the SSRMS

This paper presents an approach for dynamic modeling of flexible-link manipulators using artificial neural networks. A state-space representation is considered for a neural identifier. A recurrent network configuration is obtained by a combination of feedforward network architectures with dynamical elements in the form of stable filters. To guarantee the boundedness of the states, a joint PD control is introduced in the system. The method can be considered both as an online identifier that can be used as a basis for designing neural network controllers as well as an offline learning scheme to compute deflections due to Link flexibility for evaluating forward dynamics. Unlike many other methods, the proposed approach does not assume knowledge of the nonlinearities of the system nor that the nonlinear system is linear in parameters. The performance of the proposed neural identifier is evaluated by identifying the dynamics of different flexible-link manipulators. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the algorithm, simulation results for a single-link manipulator, a two-link planar manipulator, and the Space Station Remote Manipulator System (SSRMS) are presented. The deep learning architecture consists of multiple layers of non-linear computing units, and the output of each lower layer is used as the input of the higher layer, which can learn effective feature representations from a large amount of input data. In this paper, the author analyze the application of deep learning and artificial intelligence in the psychological mechanism of language activity. Language activity is a complex cognitive process that drives the comprehensive response, coordination, and operation of body-related functions. In this activity, there are three information processing links: language input, intermediate processing and language output. Intermediate processing is the core part. Information processing drives systemic language responses, including those of the oral muscles and nervous system. According to the experimental results, we analyze the psychological factors in the processing of language activity information, study the language processing and information processing modes of deep learning and artificial intelligence in the brain, and the psychological mechanism of English-Chinese alternate language activities. the result predicted by SVM regression is 5.35 m/s, and the prediction error is 4.5%. In addition to the speed prediction, we used the same sample data to predict the direction of the next second. The simulation results this system can predict the language activity.

Three-dimensional imaging reconstruction algorithm of gated-viewing laser imaging with compressive sensing

Three-dimensional (3D) laser imaging combining compressive sensing (CS) has an advantage in lower power consumption and less imaging sensors;however, it brings enormous stress to subsequent calculation devices. In this paper we proposed a fast 3D imaging reconstruction algorithm to deal with time-slice images sampled by single-pixel detectors. The algorithm implements 3D imaging reconstruction before CS recovery, thus it saves plenty of runtime of CS recovery. Several experiments are conducted to verify the performance of the algorithm. simulation results demonstrated that the proposed algorithm has better performance in terms of efficiency compared to an existing algorithm. This paper has made a thorough analysis of the artificial school of fish (AFSA) algorithm and has made improvement in view of the algorithm's insufficiency, by creating an improvement algorithm. It is applied in the grid scheduling of resources strategy, seeks one kind by the time to suit in the grid computation environment high performance scheduling of resources strategy. Use of the AFSA algorithm to solve the scheduling of resources question, is advantageous in improving the performance, and simultaneously is also helpful in the further studies to enhance the grid system resources to improve the performance, to seek the new key to the situation for the scheduling of resources question, and to enhance the scheduling of resources to increase the efficiency. This paper has made the improvement algorithm in the Gridsim grid simulation software, and a simulation experiment has been carried out in contrast with other algorithms, indicated that the proposed improvement algorithm has better search ability and convergence rate.

Robust rank-EASI algorithm for blind source separation

Robustness against deviations from nominal source pdf assumptions is very desirable in blind source separation (BSS) algorithms. In the paper, a new approach for robust BSS is proposed. The EASI (equivariant adaptive separation by independence) algorithm (Cardoso and Laheld, 1996) is modified to use ranks of observed signals. The modified EASI algorithm can be applied to both real-valued and complex-valued data. Design guidelines are discussed for the nonlinear rank weighting functions in the modified EASI algorithm. simulation results for two examples are given, showing very good performance.

Synthesis of circular antenna array using crossed particle swarm optimization algorithm

The particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm presents a new way for finding an optimal solution of complex optimization problems. In this paper a modified particle swarm optimization algorithm is applied to the optimization of the antenna array. We modify the PSO algorithm in some aspects. Firstly, the dynamic parameter is introduced to update the position equation, and the particles are limited in the search region. A new strategy for updating the speed is then adopted, in which the speed is weakened linearly. Based on these strategies, we proposed a new PSO algorithm named the crossed PSO algorithm. simulation results show that the optimal pattern of the antenna array is able to approach the desired pattern. The results also demonstrate that the modified algorithm is superior to the original algorithm and the nonlinear least-square method.

The structural and magnetic properties of Cu-coated Cc clusters are investigated with empirical genetic algorithm simulation and a spin-polarized spd tight-binding model Hamiltonian. In some specific stoichiometric compositions, icosahedral Co-n (n = 1, 2, 4, 7, 13, 19, 55) clusters perfectly coated with A Cu monolayer or dual layer are obtained. The outer Cu layers lead to significant modification of the magnetic moment of the Co core, depending on the structure and thickness of the Cu layers. The interaction between Cu and Co atoms induces a nonzero magnetic moment for Cu atoms.

Signal Level Simulator for Netted Text Radar Waveforms Evaluation

When evaluating the performances of radar waveforms, it is crucial to understand how the signal is affected by multiple interactions with the environment and the system hardware. Analysis of complex radar systems, such as multistatic and netted designs (see Figure 1) is often intractable without the application of a dedicated radar simulation system. Recent research into radar simulation has focused primarily on synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems [1] and is not entirely applicable to traditional radar systems concerned with the location and tracking of remote targets. A complete simulator has been designed for the accurate simulation of raw returns in complex, multistatic, and netted radars, and is applicable to pulsed and continuous wave (CW) systems, and both active and passive radar systems. The Flexible Simulator for Multistatic Radars (FERS) can be used to simulate radar systems with arbitrary waveforms and arbitrary numbers of receivers, transmitters, and seatterers, Herein, algorithms for the simulation of raw radar return signals are presented, based on interpolation and modification of the transmitted signal and modeling of the radar hardware and environment. The algorithms are expected to be especially valuable for the simulation of emerging radar technologies, such as Passive Coherent Location (PCL) [2], netted radar and phased array radar. Preliminary results, presented herein, suggest that these algorithms can simulate physical systems with excellent accuracy.
