With the development of industry and the acceleration of urbanisation, water resources have gradually become a major strategic resource for national economic development and long-term social stability. It is of great significance to optimise the allocation of regional water resources to provide water resources for industry, agriculture and people’s life, and the environment in the region, so as to obtain the maximum social, economic, and environmental benefits, and to realise coordinated and sustainable development in the region. In this paper, by establishing a multi-objective optimisation function and solving it with NSGA-II algorithm, we optimise the allocation of water resources in the mining area, including dredging water, to achieve sustainable development in the mining area. © 2024 SPIE.

In view of the charging scheduling problem of new energy vehicles in the airfield area, the traditional disordered charging phenomenon causes the unbalanced utilization of charging piles, which makes some charging piles overloaded and cannot be applied to the safe operation of the distribution network in the airfield area. By analyzing the vehicle charging law of a domestic hub airport, with the goal of minimizing the deviation of the comprehensive utilization rate of charging piles and the minimum vehicle queuing time, a new energy vehicle charging scheduling model was established, and the particle swarm optimization algorithm was used to solve the model, and the actual charging data of the airport was compared and verified. The results showed that the algorithm could reduce the variance of the comprehensive utilization rate of charging piles by 70.4%, reduce the queuing time of vehicle charging by 59.6%, and effectively improved the safety of the airport distribution network and the operating efficiency of new energy vehicles. © 2024 SPIE.

Recently a lot of studies have been focused on the impact of the wavelength converters in a DWDM network for different switch architectures and different traffic load conditions. In addition, most of the previous studies, has assumed that the holding time of the wavelength connection is similar to that of telephone calls. This is not practical in the current optical network applications since most of connections stay permanently. In this paper, we consider new switch architecture with partial wavelength conversion capability. We investigate the benefit of the wavelength conversion in a DWDM network with limited number of wavelength converters assuming that the holding time of the wavelength connection is infinite. Our simulation results indicate that the performance of an optical network with only 25% of wavelength conversion capability is very close to that of an optical network with full wavelength conversion, for the network topology and traffic pattern considered. In another Metro application, we observe that the use of wavelength converters does not have any impact on the network performance.

In this paper, PCE-based inter-domain path computation has been discussed. Interworking of multiple PCEs with the BRPC procedure enables not only end-to-end shortest path computation but also end-to-end diverse path computation over multiple networks. We have analyzed various PCE-based inter-domain path computation strategies using BRPC, in terms of the path computation complexity. To reduce path computation time, a simplified path computation strategy was proposed and evaluated experimentally with our prototyped PCE system. Our experimental results show good correspondence with analytical ones. The proposed strategy drastically reduced path computation time down to oneseventh in comparison with the conventional strategy. © 2008 SPIE.

Two algorithms are developed which address the problem of estimating the magnitude and phase of the optical transfer function associated with a blurred image. The primary focus of the research is on the estimate of the phase of the optical transfer function. Once an estimate of the optical transfer function has been made, the corresponding blurred image is Wiener filtered to estimate the original unblurred image (the object). Results are demonstrated on computer simulated blurs and also on real world blurred imagery.

This paper presents a parallel algorithm for preprocessing as well as real-time navigation of vie iv-dependent virtual environments on shared memory multiprocessors. The algorithm proceeds by hierarchical spatial subdivision of the input dataset by an octree: The parallel algorithm is robust and does not generate any artifacts such as degenerate triangles and mesh:foldovers. The algorithm performance scales linearly with increase in the number of processors as well as increase in the input dataset complexity. The resulting visualization performance is fast enough to enable interleaved acquisition and modification with interactive visualization.

We describe an algorithm to estimate a discrete signal from its noisy observation, using a library of orthonormal bases (consisting of various wavelets, wavelet packets, and local trigonometric bases) and the information-theoretic criterion called minimum description length (MDL). The key to effective random noise suppression is that the signal component in the data may be represented efficiently by one or more of the bases in the library, whereas the noise component cannot be represented efficiently by any basis in the library. The MDL criterion gives the best compromise between the fidelity of the estimation result to the data (noise suppression) and the efficiency of the representation of the estimated signal (signal compression): it selects the 'best' basis and the 'best' number of terms to be retained out of various bases in the library in an objective manner. Because of the use of the MDL criterion, our algorithm is free from any parameter setting or subjective judgments. This method has been applied usefully to various geophysical datasets containing many transient features.

This paper presents the design of high altitude balloon experiment (HABE) attitude determination and control architecture. Inertial pointing forms the foundation of the HABE tracking system where the precise attitude control system is required to ensure target acquisition. The basic concept involves constructing an inertial line of sight (LOS) vector with target and HABE trajectory measurements and controlling the gimbal attitude to create a parallel LOS. algorithms are developed incorporating the gimbal dynamics and inertial sensor information to optimize the pointing control system's flexibility and accuracy. Coordinate transformations between inertial, sensor, and vehicle frames intensify the complexities in realizing the pointing control system design. Kalman filtering is incorporated, providing trajectory prediction and compensating measurements for extraneous noise and latencies. The complete architecture of the pointing control system is analyzed with both frequency domain models and time domain simulation to characterize performance predictions.

The multi-dimensional power consumption information decoupling and separation optimization algorithm based on power supply big data and user profile is a new algorithm applied in the power field. Through the analysis of big data in the power supply system, combined with user portraits, the power consumption habits and demand characteristics of users at different times and in different scenarios are obtained. Through the analysis and extraction of time-varying characteristics, the decoupling and separation of multi-dimensional power consumption information is realized, so as to better understand the impact of different factors on power consumption behavior. The advantage of this algorithm is that it can provide refined electricity consumption data and analysis results, thereby providing more intelligent and personalized services for power operators and users. By decoupling and separating multidimensional electricity consumption information, it is possible to gain a deeper understanding of users' electricity consumption behavior and needs, providing effective reference and support for the planning, operation, and management of power supply systems. © COPYRIGHT SPIE.
