Reducing fuel cost and enhancing the resource utilization rate in energy economic load dispatch problem

This study contributes for solving the economic load dispatch (ELD) problem to reduce the energy waste caused by thermal generation units and promotes cleaner and sustainable production in the power industry. Electricity is produced by thermal power plants;however, thermal power generation involves low economic benefits and high pollution levels, which hinders cleaner and sustainable production in the power industry. An improved manta ray foraging optimization (IMRFO) algorithm is developed for solving the ELD problem and realizing the cleaner and economic goal of the thermal units. The characteristics of the novel method present that: (1) Sine and cosine adaptations were introduced in the manta ray foraging optimization algorithm to enhance its adaptive ability;(2) a nonlinear convergence factor was presented to enhance the convergence speed;and (3) a differential evolution algorithm was introduced in the original algorithm to enhance robustness. Three typical ELD test systems were selected to prove the feasibility of the IMRFO-based solution method. The results indicated that IMRFO algorithm obtained the most competitive scheduling strategy compared with the existing methods. Improving the economy of power system operation is beneficial to realize cleaner and sustainable power production.

Using the Himawari-8 AHI Multi-Channel to Improve the Calculation Accuracy of Outgoing Longwave Radiation at the Top of the Atmosphere

In this study, Himawari-8 Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI) longwave channel data that is sensitive to clouds and absorption gas were used to improve the accuracy of the algorithm used to calculate outgoing longwave radiation (OLR) at the top of the atmosphere. A radiative transfer model with a variety of atmospheric conditions was run using Garand vertical profile data as input data. The results of the simulation showed that changes in AHI channels 8, 12, 15, and 16, which were used to calculate OLR, were sensitive to changes in cloud characteristics (cloud optical thickness and cloud height) and absorption gases (water vapor, O-3, CO2, aerosol optical thickness) in the atmosphere. When compared to long-term analysis OLR data from 2017, as recorded by the Cloud and Earth's Radiant Energy System (CERES), the OLR calculated in this study had an annual mean bias of 2.28 Wm(-2) and a root mean square error (RMSE) of 11.03 Wm(-2). The new calculation method mitigated the problem of overestimations in OLR in mostly cloudy and overcast regions and underestimated OLR in cloud-free desert regions. It is also an improvement over the result from the existing OLR calculation algorithm, which uses window and water vapor channels.

Multi-strategy Improved Seagull Optimization algorithm

Aiming at the shortcomings of seagull optimization algorithm in the process of searching for optimization, such as slow convergence speed, low precision, easy falling into local optimal, and performance dependent on the selection of parameters, this paper proposes an improved gull optimization algorithm based on multi-strategy fusion based on the analysis of gull population characteristics. Firstly, L-C cascade chaotic mapping is used to initialize the population so that seagulls are more evenly distributed in the initial solution space. Secondly, to improve the algorithm's global exploration ability in the early stage, the nonlinear convergence factor is incorporated to adjust the position of seagulls in the migration stage. At the same time, the group learning strategy was introduced after the population position update to improve the population quality and optimization accuracy further. Finally, in the late stage of the algorithm, the golden sine strategy of the Levy flight guidance mechanism is used to update the population position to improve the population's diversity and enhance the local development ability of the algorithm in the late stage. To verify the optimization performance of the improved algorithm, CEC2017 and CEC2022 test suites are selected for simulation experiments, and box graphs are drawn. The test results show that the proposed algorithm has apparent convergence speed, accuracy, and stability advantages. The engineering case results demonstrate the proposed algorithm's advantages in solving complex problems with unknown search spaces.

Metaheuristic algorithms play a crucial role in engineering optimization, as they can find the optimal parameter configuration in engineering systems. This article proposes a multi-strategy improved seagull optimization algorithm (OPSOA) to solve engineering application problems. Aiming to solve the problems of slow search speed and low convergence accuracy of the standard seagull optimization algorithm (SOA), four strategies, including L & eacute;vy flight and Cauchy mutation, were introduced to improve its performance. Comparison shows that OPSOA and its incomplete algorithms are better than SOA, indicating that each improvement is effective. By testing the benchmark functions of CEC 2017 and CEC 2022, it is shown that OPSOA has a strong ability to find the optimal solution and is superior to other algorithms in terms of convergence accuracy and search speed. The application of this algorithm in practical engineering problems proves that it has significant advantages in solving complex problems.

Research on Crack Detection algorithm of the Concrete Bridge Based on Image Processing

The appearance and development of cracks in the concrete bridge will seriously affect the safe use of bridge buildings. In order to better satisfy the crack detection requirement, this paper comes up with an image preprocessing scheme combining multiple adaptive filtering and contrast enhancement based on the image processing technology of concrete crack, which can improve the removal effect of background noise and obtain the characteristic vein information of tiny cracks. Then we designed a local adaptive algorithm of Otsu threshold segmentation and integrated with modified Sobel operator for removing isolated noise spots, so as to extract the crack edge information and improve the positioning accuracy of the crack boundary. Furthermore, according to the image feature of the bridge crack edge, the target crack is identified as well as classified and the feature data is calculated. The results of case analysis show that the data processing precision of the detection algorithm can reach 0.02mm, which can satisfy the actual engineering detection requirements of concrete bridge crack.

A versatile dynamic noise control framework based on computer simulation and modeling

This article attempts to effectively reduce the impact of active noise pollution on human life, and to make up for the traditional passive noise control technique. In low-frequency noise control, there are some shortcomings. The making of active noise control (ANC) technique, in low-frequency noise reduction, can achieve very good results. This article proposes a versatile dynamic noise control framework based on computer simulation and modeling. The research is mainly focused on the principle and application of versatile dynamic noise control framework. To accomplish this, a research method combining theoretical analysis, software simulation, and hardware realization is adopted. The derivation process of the adaptive algorithm (LMS algorithm, filter-XLMS algorithm, etc.) is introduced in detail, and the influencing factors of algorithm performance, a variable step size normalization algorithm based on relative error is proposed. Perform simulation calculations on various algorithms in MATLAB, analyze parameters such as step factor, filter order, etc., and the degree of influence on the algorithm's convergence speed and steady-state performance. Common command set software is used, the path adaptive identification is realized, and the program design of the versatile dynamic noise control framework is used. After completion of software and hardware debugging on the experimental platform of generalized comfort, the experimental equipment layout is completed. Using the additive random noise method, the adaptive offline modeling of the first path of the versatile dynamic noise control framework is realized. Finally, utilizing the experimental platform of generalized comfort, the adaptive ANC experiment of the single-channel filtered least mean square algorithm is conducted, then the experimental data are analyzed, and at last, the actual application effect of the versatile dynamic noise control framework is verified.

Application of Improved Sparrow Search algorithm in Electric Battery Swapping Station Switching Dispatching

The demand for power exchange has risen dramatically as the number of electric vehicle (EV) users has increased, and large-scale disorderly charging will increase the operating costs of battery swapping stations and increase the risk to the power grid. Through experimental comparison with other algorithms on 23 test functions, the results demonstrate that the convergence accuracy and speed of this improved algorithm are superior to those of other algorithms. Furthermore, in solving the optimization problem of EV battery swapping station scheduling, by reasonably allocating the battery pack charging time and establishing the forecasting model of switching demand, the average variance and peak-to-average ratio of the grid are reduced by 29.55% and 13.2%, respectively, based on meeting the user's switching demand. Approximately a 12,500 RMB reduction in the cost of charging lowers the operation cost and risk of battery swapping stations and enhances the user experience.

Inclined Obstacle Recognition and Ranging Method in Farmland Based on Improved YOLOv8

Unmanned tractors under ploughing conditions suffer from body tilting, violent shaking and limited hardware resources, which can reduce the detection accuracy of unmanned tractors for field obstacles. We optimize the YOLOv8 model in three aspects: improving the accuracy of detecting tilted obstacles, computational reduction, and adding a visual ranging mechanism. By introducing Funnel ReLU, a self-constructed inclined obstacle dataset, and embedding an SE attention mechanism, these three methods improve detection accuracy. By using MobileNetv2 and Bi FPN, computational reduction, and adding camera ranging instead of LIDAR ranging, the hardware cost is reduced. After completing the model improvement, comparative tests and real-vehicle validation are carried out, and the validation results show that the average detection accuracy of the improved model reaches 98.84% of the mAP value, which is 2.34% higher than that of the original model. The computation amount of the same image is reduced from 2.35 billion floating-point computations to 1.28 billion, which is 45.53% less than the model computation amount. The monitoring frame rate during the movement of the test vehicle reaches 67 FPS, and the model meets the performance requirements of unmanned tractors under normal operating conditions.

Multi-UAV collaborative path planning(MUCPP) is a complex multi-objective optimization problem. Compared with the traditional path planning algorithms, stochastic heuristic algorithm(SHA) can solve this kind of problem more efficiently. In this paper, we first introduce several widely used UAV path planning algorithms. Then, recent works on MUCPP based on SHA are reviewed, where the feature, improvement and application, merits and demerits of those proposed algorithms are ***, the challenges of path planning for multiple UAVs are put forward and the future development trend is prospected from the aspects of theoretical and applied research.

Accurate matching the best atom is the key factor for compressed sensing reconstruction process to precisely recovery of the goal signal. The inner product matching criterion applied by Backtracking adaptive matching pursuit algorithm(BAOMP) is the lack of consideration of information, leading to the imprecise matching of the best atoms. The matching criterion of Dice coefficient considered the signal reduces the reconstruction error. So this paper proposed a new algorithm named Dice-BAOMP, which get the better performance. Simulation results verified the performance of proposed algorithms that success rates of reconstruction are 8%-10% higher than original algorithm.
