In this paper, we investigate a novel random selection strategy for dual-hop Single-Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization (SC-FDE) in cooperative systems with multiple relays and amplify-and-forward relaying employing fuzzy comprehensive evaluation-based algorithm. We address the problem of optimal resource allocation for SC-FDE minimum mean square error (MMSE) receivers. In particular, the relays cooperate according to contribution factors which are the result of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation algorithm. The fuzzy algorithm takes into consideration different fuzzy factors, namely, norm-based selection ratio (NBSR), instantaneous capacity-based selection ratio (CBSR), singular value based selection ratio (SVSR), and equalizer output signal quality-based selection ratio (EQSR) strategies, which are motivated by minimizing the instantaneous error rate. Different sub-channels are further associated with uniform random distribution where the thresholds of the uniform random variables are associated with the contribution factors (evaluated through the fuzzy algorithm). Our novel Random fair allocation fuzzy comprehensive evaluation-based (RFCE) strategy proves superior SER performance as well as improved diversity gain which is achieved by randomizing the allocation. The employed fuzzy algorithm further improves the performance by assigning partial weights to different participating fuzzy factors.

The common SHOOT- LOOK- SHOOT method is usually efficient in defending strategic or tactical targets against a salvo attack. However, using this method is not always practical due to time constraints. In the presented study the alternative SHOOT- SHOOT- LOOK method is investigated and an algorithm for its implementation is derived. Solutions to three main problems that arise while applying this method are presented: finding the optimal locations of the defending missiles for the second SHOOT stage;updating the locations of the defenders during the LOOK stage;and deriving the optimal allocation plan of the defending missiles to the attacking missiles. The solutions are based on a probabilistic analysis of the expected miss distance, between each pair of defender and attacker, which is dependent on the guidance law of the defender and geometry of the engagement. The results show that the algorithm can increase the probability of the defended target surviving the salvo attack, or alternatively, it can reduce the number of defenders needed to reach a given level of protection.

This paper investigates the Dynamic Subcarrier allocation (DSA) issue in Long Term Evaluation (LTE) uplink. Many researches pay more attention on maximizing the system throughput or improving the fairness between multi-users, however, they ignored the user actual spectrum demand. In this paper, an improved subcarrier allocation scheme has been proposed, which considers the user demand of quality of services (QoS) especially the demand of transmission capacity. In this paper we study on how to satisfy the users' capacity demand with also to guarantee throughput to some extent. The scheduler allocates a chunk to the user with largest capacity demand in greedy way and renews all the users' requests before the next allocation, so that the algorithm can meet users' demand as far as possible. By making a comparison with other existent allocation algorithms, we can see that the proposed algorithm achieves better demand satisfaction without computational complexity increase through exhaustive simulations.

Ultra Wideband (UWB) system uses extremely low signal power to coexist with other primary users (PUs), which limits the use of the UWB's wide spectrum band. Cognitive Radio (CR) enables UWB systems to efficiently use the overlapped spectrum without causing interference to other wireless systems. In this paper, we focuses on the low-complexity joint optimization algorithm design with respect to transmit power allocation and spectrum sensing time (SST) for maximizing the spectrum efficiency of the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing based CR-UWB system. The SST optimization algorithm minimizes the spectrum sensing time in order to maximize the time length of applying the power allocation algorithm for data transmission. The proposed group power allocation algorithm adaptively assigns the transmit power to the subcarrier groups according to the effective signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of each subcarrier group based on greedy algorithm. The proposed joint optimization algorithm can maximize the CR-UWB systems spectrum efficiency at a extremely low primary user SNR regime with low complexity.

Cell-edge users inevitably suffer from strong interference from adjacent cells, and consequently their throughput will decrease. Recent investigations show that the Han-Kobayashi (HK) rate splitting scheme is the best known strategy to mitigate the interference for a two-user interference channel. However, its receiver is too complicated to implement in practical systems. This paper takes the multi-layer rate splitting (MLRS) scheme as an alternative and proposes a new mutual-information based power allocation algorithm for the MLRS scheme. Simulation results for the scenarios of two cell-edge users show that the proposed power allocation algorithm brings two advantages. First, it can reduce the complexity of receivers for the MLRS scheme. Second, it can achieve performance comparable to the simple HK scheme in a two-user fading interference channel and provide about 39% gains in terms of average throughput, compared with a fixed frequency reuse 2 scheme, in a realistic tri-sectored wireless network.

Recently, multimedia communication by smartphones and tablets via mobile networks have become popular in daily life. Therefore, an effective method to use the limited wireless resources is necessary. When using wireless resources among multiple users, the schedulers allocate resources to each user. When allocating resources, assuring quality of experience (QoE) and achieving high system throughput are fundamental. In this paper, we present a two-step radio resource allocation algorithm for the downlink of a long term evolution (LTE) network, by taking into account the user's and the service provider's perspective. At the first step, it allocates resources dynamically to each user so that a minimum QoE is guaranteed for every user. In the second step, it allocates resources dynamically to improve the system throughput while achieving a high-level of QoE. We show that our proposed algorithm achieves a higher level of QoE than the conventional allocation algorithms based on quality of service (QoS) metrics, as well as a higher throughput compared to the conventional allocation algorithms based on QoE.

When a single video server provides a streaming service, there are many limitations. Thus, clusters of multiple video servers are widely used today to provide better service. How movies are allocated to each server in a cluster is an important and ongoing research topic because the movies are large, and there are so many of them. We have developed a movie allocation algorithm based on the observation that client accesses follow a Zipf distribution. We have developed an algorithm in which servers use their storage to their full capacities, movies are assigned to servers as evenly as possible, servers receive requests as evenly as possible, and all movies are allocated to at least one server. For a robot to perform a task, several algorithms must be executed, sometimes simultaneously. The algorithms can be executed either on the robot itself or, if desired, on a cloud infrastructure. The term cloud infrastructure refers to hardware, storage, abstracted resources, and network resources associated with cloud computing. Depending on the decision of where the algorithms are executed, the overall execution time and memory required for the robot, change accordingly. The price of a robot depends on its storage capacity and computational power, among other factors. We answer the question of how to maintain a given performance and deploy a cheaper robot (lower resources) by allocating computational tasks to the cloud infrastructure depending on memory, computational power, and communication constraints. Even for a fixed robot, our model provides a way to achieve optimal overall performance. We provide a general model for optimal algorithm allocation decision under certain constraints. We illustrate the model with simulation results. The main advantage of our model is that it provides optimal task allocation simultaneously for memory and time.

Channel allocation is one of the fundamental problems faced by designers of the portable communication systems. A Distributed Dynamic Channel allocation (DDCA) algorithm is proposed. The DDCA combines the advantages of both the fixed and the dynamic channel allocation algorithms in an effective way. Initialization is easy and it is adaptive to slowly changing environments. It is flexible. A port can utilize all the channels available to the system. It is adaptive to slowly changing environments so that the port can adjust the channel allocation automatically when ports are added or removed from the system. It is stable, simple and fully distributed. Simulation shows that it has 25% improvement over the U.K. DECT testbed DCA [1] and 16% improvement over the Channel Segregation DCA [6], [7] in terms of system capacity with one percent of grade of service.

Aiming at the current uneven distribution of employment resources and poor accuracy of college students, social network mining is applied to the design of college students' employment resource allocation algorithm, and a college student employment resource allocation algorithm based on social network mining is proposed. First, build an LTE (Long Term Evolution) system. LTE interference suppression is performed through inter-cell interference randomization technology, inter-cell interference cancellation technology, and inter-cell interference coordination technology. Construct a resource allocation model based on the constructed LTE system, and the constructed resource allocation model is a continuous decision model. In terms of resource allocation, virtual machines can be simulated and placed through the established energy consumption model and performance loss model, so the state value can be obtained through the Monte Carlo method. Based on social network mining, according to the constructed resource allocation model and the obtained state value, the employment resource allocation algorithm for college students is realized. Experiments verify that this method has short task scheduling time, better resource allocation accuracy and efficiency, and it can optimize the allocation of employment resources for college students to a certain extent.
