Calculation of circulating current in transposition bars is important to the transposition-type design of stator windings in large generators. The circuit network model of the stator transposition bar, including only resistance and reactance parameters, is proposed in this paper, and the calculation method for parameters is given. The analytical algorithm of circulating current in stator transposition bars is proposed based on the circuit network model. Contrary to the existing calculation method for circulating current, the presented analytical algorithm is a general and fast method for different transposition types, which can avoid establishing complex 3-D models. In order to validate the proposed analytical algorithm, the strand current and circulating current of less than 540 degrees with a void transposition bar in a water-cooled turbogenerator are calculated by analytical algorithm and 3-D finite-element method.

We present a set of analytical formula on describing the diffraction field of the three dimensional (3D) triangular-mesh-based model. The advantage of the proposed method is that it can avoid using the numerical algorithm - Fast Fourier Transform, which leads to a depth-of-field limitation by the Whittaker-Shannon sampling theorem. We employ the proposed method to generate the hologram of 3D texture model derived from the real scene or 3D design software. In order to further increase the computation speed, we have rendered a real scene by employing the GPU platform. Our homemade GPU algorithm performs hundreds of times faster than those of CPU. As we developed a general phase adjustment technique for polygon-based algorithm, the holographic reconstructed scenes possess high performance.

This paper points out that the fan-beam short-scan FBP algorithm is not exact, even in an ideal noiseless situation. The error depends on the focal length of the imaging geometry. Chlorophyll-a is an important index of entrophication. A large number of scholars have engaged in studying Chl-a inversion methodologies in the heavily polluted case II waters. However, the low-level-polluted case II waters haven't been paid enough attentions. In this study, we chose Guanting Reservoir, China, a low-level-polluted case II water area, as our study field. Then, we modeled three algorithms (original three-band algorithm, enhanced three-band algorithm and analytical algorithm) to retrieve Chl-a concentration. The results show that the Chl-a concentration predicted by the enhanced three-band algorithm is much more correlated with the measured Chl-a concentration (R2=0.843, RMSE=1.98) than the original three-band algorithm (R2=0.802, RMSE=2.15) and analytical algorithm (R2=0.836, RMSE=2.24). So, the enhanced three-band algorithm is the most applicable method of these three algorithms and has the potential applied in the inversion of Chl-a concentration in low-level-polluted case II waters.

The present study deals with the theoretical and experimental analysis of a permanent magnet claw-pole synchronous generator (PMCPSG) suited for small rating, direct-driven applications, such as small-scale wind power plants. After the computation of the machine main dimensions using an analytical algorithm, a Hooke-Jeeves optimisation procedure was implemented in order to obtain the optimal geometry of the PMCPSG. The electromagnetic field and static performances are studied, based on three-dimensional finite element analysis. A prototype of the PMCPSG is tested on a test bench for resistive and inductive loads.

A layout design algorithm for a variable-width inductor is proposed to minimize metal resistance. For a given chip area, the proposed algorithm can rapidly design metal widths of each coil in a planar inductor due to the analytical form. Two on-chip inductors with identical chip areas and inductance are fabricated to verify the proposed method in foundry 90-nm CMOS technology. Measurement results demonstrate that the improvement of metal resistance in the proposed device is approximately 19%. The results of this paper provide an effective algorithm to design a high-Q inductor for RFIC applications.

The relations established between the tensile and compression strength have been based on the Griffith fracture hypothesis for a biaxial stressed state. The effect has been taken into account of technological residual thermal stresses, which are formed in wurtzitic boron nitride (wBN) grains in sintering at the stage of cooling because of the thermal expansion anisotropy, on the strength of wBN.

A layout design algorithm of a variable-width transformer is proposed to minimize metal resistance in this letter. The proposed algorithm can rapidly design metal widths in each coil of a planar transformer for a given chip area. Two on-chip transformers with identical self-inductance are fabricated to verify the proposed algorithm in 90-nm CMOS technology. Measurement results demonstrate the improvement of metal resistance approximates to the value of 11.6%. Results of this study provide an effective algorithm to design a minimal-loss transformer for radio frequency integrated circuit applications.
