In contemporary lifestyles, a common challenge is the urgent requirement to purchase a specific item without knowing its location, often due to time constraints. While online ordering is an alternative, the associated waiting period poses a drawback. To address this, a purpose-built application has been developed to efficiently locate products in nearby retail shops. By swiftly presenting available items in the vicinity along with their distances, the app eliminates the need for exhaustive inquiries at multiple shops. The central aim is to enhance user convenience by saving time and energy. Beyond aiding buyers, the application offers benefits to sellers by increasing visibility, potentially attracting more customers, and fostering recognition. The platform seeks to simplify the product search and purchase process, benefiting both consumers and retailers.

In this study, a Bluetooth-based android application interface is developed to perform a manual and automatic control of a four-wheel-driven mobile robot designed for education, research, health, military, and many other fields. The proposed application with MIT App Inventor consists of three components: the main screen, the manual control screen, and the automatic control screen. The main screen is where the actions of the control preference selection such as manual control and automatic control and the Bluetooth connection between the mobile robot and android phone occur. When the robot is operated manually for calibration or manual positioning purposes, the manual control screen is employed to adjust the desired robot movement and speed by hand. In the case of the need for automatic motion control, the desired robot position and speed data are inserted into the mobile robot processor through the automatic control screen. At the first stage of the work, the proposed android application is developed with the design and block editors of the MIT App Inventor. The compiled application is then installed on the android phone. Next, the communication between the Arduino microcontroller used for the robot control with the Bluetooth protocol and the android application is established. The accuracy of the data dispatched to the Arduino is tested on the serial connection screen. It is validated that the data from the android application is transferred to Arduino smoothly. At the end of this study, the manual and automatic controls of the proposed mobile robot are performed experimentally and success of the coordination between the android application and the mobile robot are demonstrated.

Computers lessen all the laborious work, specifically by introducing software applications following mobile applications and IoT (Internet of Things) in numerous civil engineering disciplines. Prevention of forfeiture of life and property is becoming the prime agenda, and seismic vulnerability assessment of existing buildings is one of the quickest methods for an earthquake disaster mitigation plan. In this study, an attempt is made to modify the commonly used FEMA rapid visual screening score sheet concerning Indian building typology and the age of the building. Also, to make RVS further rapid an RVS tool named RVS_IND App is developed using the android App, particularly for the seismic performance evaluation of buildings at the visual inspection level. The application reduced the time taken for RVS from 15 to 20 mins per building to <2-3 mins per building and all the building score sheets can be stored during a walk down, apprising the speed of assessment of huge building stock.

The Earth has witnessed the evolution of thousands of plant species in the kingdom named Plantae. Due to the diversity and subtle differences in each plant, it becomes difficult for a novice to identify a particular plant and to know the properties associated with it. We propose a classification model that can solve this issue by categorizing the input plant image. Our methodology can classify up to 79 different plant species found predominantly in Himachal Pradesh located in India. A Deep Learning-based model is used to carry out the classification. Our model is optimized to work efficiently without a live internet connection on smartphones and other devices with limited computational power. A total of 79 distinct classes were classified using the Convolution neural network DenseNet-161 model architecture with a testing accuracy of 97.3%. The application works on any android platform and can classify the input plant image with an average latency of 1.98 s. Our application built on this model assists farmers and locals to get in-depth knowledge about the species including the local name, scientific name, description, and the care requirements by uploading or taking a picture of the plant leaf.

The teaching of children with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Arabic-speaking countries depends mainly on the traditional techniques which are limited and outdated. On the other hand, smartphone applications (apps) have become an essential part of the current life style. They are literally used to accomplish thousands of different tasks related to almost every possible aspect of daily life. However, the available apps related to the children with ASD in Arabic countries are extremely rare and limited in their features and services. Motivated by that, this work tries to fill the shortage in this area by presenting MOLHEM as a helping app for Arab children with ASD that comes with an interactive avatar based chatbot. The proposed system aims mainly to improve the child's different social skills in addition to enhance the linguistic and mathematical abilities. In fact, MOLHEM has a variety of interactive teaching tools including stories, music, videos, and others. Moreover, the chatbot allows the child to have real conversations in both Arabic or English languages with a chatbot represented by a cartoon character avatar. On the other hand, the parent will have the privileges to supervise the child's usage of the app, get regular performance and activity reports, in addition to control the sessions' length. In fact, MOLHEM was practically tested by a group of specialists and parents of autistics and the feedback we got was very promising. As a future work, we plan to create an IOS version, add new learning categories, allow shared playing for a group of users, and include artificial intelligence techniques.

This research study presents an innovative android application for a Temporary Driver Booking System, which aims to revolutionize the temporary driver industry by providing a streamlined, efficient, and safe solution for connecting customers with qualified drivers. The platform offers a seamless user experience, allowing customers to specify their transportation needs and choose from a pool of verified drivers based on availability, experience, and ratings within the stipulated range by calculating shortest distance between User and Drivers using Haversine and Dijkstra's algorithms on the other hand, driver can manage their availability, and accept service requests. Safety and reliability are ensured through rigorous driver verification processes, including background checks and license verification. In case of emergencies, an emergency assistance feature allows users to quickly alert the support team and share ride details for prompt assistance. The construction industry is progressing by integrating collaborative approaches including new technologies and monitoring construction flow across the project life cycle. Material handling accounts for almost two-thirds of a construction project's budget, approximately 65 percent. Maintaining the project's budget and schedule requires timely delivery of construction materials to the required site location while maintaining their quantity. This study aims to identify shortcomings in the construction supply chain's transportation phase. To address one of the significant problems in this phase, the supplier's monitoring of real-time location during vehicle movement, a mobile application prototype was developed using the JAVA programming language, android Studio Development Kit, and Firebase database. The study demonstrates the development of a mobile app framework for the case study project. The app was tested while delivering consignments of precast elements for the construction site using tools and the results were compared in terms of time efficiency. The test results indicated that the app is well-designed, user-friendly, and meets the needs of construction industry. It is an interactive, accurate and convenient method to use mobile apps to facilitate ordering, tracking, monitoring, and real-time management of logistics processes from dispatch to record storage, inspection and risk mitigation.

This paper presents the android application which transliterates Indian languages like Odia, Bengali, Hindi, Telugu and English to their respective braille script. It includes the prospect of voice-based search apart from the text-based search for people with visual disabilities to access reading materials in Indian regional braille scripts. The morphological characteristics of grain kernels play an important role in identifying the quality of rice. Manual sorting and inspection of rice kernels is a laborious process and susceptible to human errors. Mechanical separators such as indented cylindrical separators have also been used to separate broken kernels. In recent times, computer vision through image analysis has been applied to automate these processes, however, this necessitates image acquisition and processing devices. This article focuses on the development and use of an android application to determine the physical quality of rice kernels by quantifying broken grains using image processing and analysis techniques. The algorithm for the application includes several steps within image processing such as: image acquisition, preprocessing, segmentation, morphological transformation, and feature extraction. This quality inspection system was evaluated for medium-grain white rice. Experimental results showed a maximum average error of 2.8% in the prediction of broken kernels. This application can be used by primary producers and traders for analyzing the quality of rice.

Most autism centers in Arabic countries rely on manual techniques in teaching children the basics of language, math, and social skills. Actually, these techniques may be limited in measuring the child's progress in a systematic way considering different fields. To overcome these limitations, we developed Autistic Innovative Assistant (AIA) which is an android smartphone app that is dedicated to teach Arabic autistic children the necessary linguistic and mathematical basics in addition to improving their social skills through creating an interactive learning environment. The proposed app covers five main categories with an interactive quiz, included in each, as an assessment tool. The lessons included in each category are viewed as a series of colorful pictures with a written sentence and an audio message to describe the meaning of each, thereby attracting the child's attention and making learning a fun activity. Each child's supervisor can access his/her quizzes' records, measure the child's progress in different categories, and use the related recommendation reports to adjust the app usage pattern. AIA was tested by a group of autistic children for a one-month test period in a real life environment represented in "Jordan Specialized Center for Autism" and the results and feedback were very promising.
