A mathematical model for the evolution of the component and air temperatures in a board of electronic devices is considered. The board consists of a grid with thermally active devices which generate heat that is conducted to their neighbors and to the edges of the board, as well as exchanged with a forced convective flow of cool air. The model consists of two coupled, discrete systems of equations: one for the temperatures of the devices and the other for the associated air temperatures. In our version of the model, the cooling term, i.e., the heat exchange between the board and the air, is linear. Existence and uniqueness of solutions is proved for our model, as well as convergence to the steady-state solution. The model is used, in conjunction with the annealing algorithm, to find the optimal placement of electronic devices on a board in such a way as to decrease an objective function of the temperature of the system, with applications to the reliability of such boards.

The physical meaning of phase difference controls the occurrence time of peak values of triangular series, which can be abbreviated as peak arrival time. This article describes a method for deducing the correspondence between the energy distribution characteristics in the time domain and the peak arrival time. The variation laws of acceleration time-history curve of natural seismic wave can be transformed into its energy distribution characteristics in time domain. Based on the needs of seismic engineering, this article proposes a conversion formula to describe the relationship between the peak arrival time and the energy distribution characteristics in the time domain. To ensure that the variation laws of acceleration time-history curve of artificial seismic waves are more consistent with those of natural seismic waves, a normal-fitting annealing algorithm is proposed based on the normal-fitting method. The proposed method not only considers the frequency distribution characteristics of the peak arrival time comprehensively but also optimizes the fitting parameters according to the actual situation. The results of all the experimental cases verify the rationality and reliability of the proposed method.

Integer-valued, minimax robust designs for approximately linear models with correlated errors

We consider finite design spaces and integer-valued discrete designs to construct minimax designs, which are robust against both departures from assumed linear regression response and departures from the assumption of uncorrelated errors. Simulated annealing algorithm is developed to carry out the minimization problems to search for minimax designs. In particular, minimax designs are studied for approximately linear models with errors following moving average (MA) processes. Results are obtained for MA(I) and MA(2) error processes in this paper, and those results can be extended to MA(q) (q greater than or equal to 3) processes. Examples of minimax designs are given for approximately polynomial regression and approximately second order multiple regression.

A DBN-PSOSA hybrid response surface method for bridge reliability

When solving bridge reliability problems, the traditional response surface method has a highly nonlinear implicit function, which results in a low fitting accuracy and difficulty in meeting the requirements. Therefore, the dynamic Bayesian network (DBN), which is suitable for solving a multi-state unit or system uncertainty problems, is selected to construct the response surface of the implicit function. In this study, the DBN model is combined with the particle swarm optimisation based on simulated annealing (PSOSA) algorithm to improve the optimisation efficiency of model parameters and allow the constructed implicit function to simulate the structure limit state function. The DBN-PSOSA hybrid response surface analysis method is proposed for bridge failure probability calculations. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, and the reliability of an actual bridge project is analysed. The results indicate that this method has a higher calculation accuracy and efficiency compared to the traditional response surface method, and is easy to combine with the existing general finite element analysis software to achieve the rapid analysis of bridge structure reliability.

Reliability evaluation of concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge based on DBN-PSOSA hybrid algorithm

When traditional response surface method is used to evaluate the reliability of concrete-filled steel tubular arch bridge, due to its complex structure and highly nonlinear implicit function, the response surface fitting accuracy is not high, and the reliability accuracy is difficult to meet the requirements of design specifications. In order to solve the above problems, this paper chooses dynamic Bayesian networks (DBN) which is suitable for solving the problem of multiple state unit or system uncertainty to build implicit function of the response surface function. And this paper combines DBN and particle swarm optimization algorithm based on simulated annealing algorithm (PSOSA) to improve efficiency of model parameter optimization. It can make the construction of implicit function simulate the real structure of the limit state function. Then this paper verifies the suitability for this kind of complex structure reliability assessment of DBN-PSOSA hybrid algorithm. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, and the reliability of a concrete filled steel tube arch bridge project is evaluated. The results show that this method improves the calculation accuracy and efficiency.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to extract electrochemical reaction kinetics parameters, such as Tafel slope, exchange current density and equilibrium potential, which cannot be directly measured, this study aims to propose an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) ***/methodology/approachIn traditional PSO algorithms, each particle's historical optimal solution is compared with the global optimal solution in each iteration step, and the optimal solution is replaced with a certain probability to achieve the goal of jumping out of the local optimum. However, this will to some extent undermine the (true) optimal solution. In view of this, this study has improved the traditional algorithm: at each iteration of each particle, the historical optimal solution is not compared with the global optimal solution. Instead, after all particles have iterated, the optimal solution is selected and compared with the global optimal solution and then the optimal solution is replaced with a certain probability. This to some extent protects the global optimal *** polarization curve plotted by this equation is in good agreement with the experimental values, which demonstrates the reliability of this algorithm and provides a new method for measuring electrochemical ***/valueThis study has improved the traditional method, which has high accuracy and can provide great support for corrosion research.

Phase-only diffractive optical element for improving the beam quality of a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser array

The propagation of the light beam emitted by a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser array is numerically simulated in a system, in which the beam is modulated by a phase-only diffractive optical element. The element designed by means of combining simulated annealing algorithm and block iterative projections algorithm can focus the beams array into a narrow peak with low background and keep it in a longer distance without diverging.

General second-harmonic pulse shaping in grating-engineered quasi-phase-matched nonlinear crystals

We describe a spectrogram-based simulated annealing algorithm for designing quasi-phase-matched crystals capable of producing second harmonic generation pulses of any chosen amplitude and phase profile. The approach applies a new and rapid analytic method for calculating the amplitude and phase of the second harmonic generation pulses generated by a quasi-phase-matched crystal containing an arbitrary grating design. The performance of the algorithm is illustrated by examples of femtosecond second harmonic pulses designed according to various target shapes including single, double and triple Gaussian pulses, positive and negative linear chirp and square, triangular and stepped profiles. On Exact K-optimal Designs Minimizing the Condition Number

A new design criterion based on the condition number of an information matrix is proposed to construct optimal designs for linear models, and the resulting designs are called K-optimal designs. The relationship between exact and asymptotic K-optimal designs is derived. Since it is usually hard to find exact optimal designs analytically, we apply a simulated annealing algorithm to compute K-optimal design points on continuous design spaces. Specific issues are addressed to make the algorithm effective. Through exact designs, we can examine some properties of the K-optimal designs such as symmetry and the number of support points. Examples and results are given for polynomial regression models and linear models for fractional factorial experiments. In addition, K-optimal designs are compared with A-optimal and D-optimal designs for polynomial regression models, showing that K-optimal designs are quite similar to A-optimal designs.

Basketball assisted teaching in instructional videos based on Mobile Edge Computing

Many teachers are limited by the teaching contents in physical education, which makes it impossible to show students some skilled movements, so students do not have enough time to learn about those abstract and challenging to understand running positions and skills. Especially in basketball teaching, if students do not have promising sports talents and solid basic basketball skills, it is not easy to acquire more basketball skills in physical education courses. Therefore, teaching through video has become inevitable. However, with the growth of video services, traditional cloud computing methods cannot meet the requirements of low latency tasks such as basketball teaching videos. Hence, Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) comes into being. Specifically, by introducing the end-edge-cloud system collaborative architecture, a cache strategy of simulated annealing algorithm for extended short-term memory networks is proposed. The simulation results show that the proposed caching strategy can effectively reduce transmission latency, improve the quality of basketball teaching, make it easier for students to get basketball skills, and significantly improve students' basketball skills when the ends used by students move between different MEC servers under the collaborative architecture of the end-edge-cloud system.
