RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology is one of the most important branches of the automatic identification technology which achieves the identification of targets by contactless communications. One of the major challenges for RFID systems is to avoid or solve collisions due to interference that might occur between tags which decrease the efficiency of RFID system. This paper focused on a detailed comparative performance evaluation study and an adoption of certain algorithms of anti-collision for passive RFID system, for the two families of solving collision: deterministic (according to the: QTA, CTTA, BS-QTA, BS-CTTA) and stochastic (ALOHA, SLOTTED ALOHA, np-CSMA). The simulation results for the two families that we get with protocols evaluation are based on their own proper evaluation parameters. Thus, for evaluating the simulation of the stochastic family, we have proposed a new performance metric which judges and correctly evaluates this anti-collision protocol;which is: the number of identified tags versus to the time. This metric provides a direct measure of the time taken to read a group of tags.

In order to improve the identification efficiency of tag anti-collision algorithm in RFID system further, the improved framed slotted ALOHA algorithm is proposed with accurate tag estimation and quick identification. the whole process is divided into two phases including tag estimation and tag identification, in tag estimation algorithm, the collision probability threshold parameter is used to estimate the number of tags accurately for the optimization of the number of time slots in the initial frame;in tag identification phase, the binary search algorithm is used to identify the tags fleetly that collide with other tags in time slots. Simulation result shows that the improved FSA consumes less time slots than dynamic framed slotted ALOHA (DFSA), the binary tree protocol and FSA. The proposed algorithm can improve the tag identification efficiency in RFID system further.

The goods and bads of the reader anti-collision algorithms play a vital role to the efficiency of the whole network system. In this paper, the reader collision problem is researched in detail and its different styles are summarized. On the basis of researching the existing algorithms, a new kind of reader anti-collision algorithm is proposed. RFID system is widely used in wireless communication systems. Tag collision, causing the RFID reader cannot identify the tag data, is a serious problem when several tags use the same communication channel simultaneously. Framed slotted ALOHA algorithm is normally used to solve the RFID collision problem. However, it requires an exponentially increasing number of slots with the tags number increasing. An improved anti-collision algorithm is presented in this paper, which has a lower collision probability and needs fewer slots. The proposed algorithm has been used in a 433MHz RFID system and reduces the tag collision probability successfully.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a popular automatic identification and an emerging wireless technology with highly promising applications. In an RFID system, the anti-collision algorithm is one of the primary mechanisms to address the issue of multi-object identification. This paper focused on a detailed study of the ALOHA anti-collision problem and a comparative study with the basic binary tree protocols. Two tag estimation methods were investigated and a performance analysis was successfully achieved based on various key design parameters such as the probability of a successful transmission, the collision ratio, the offered load, the system efficiency, the system throughput and the estimation accuracy of successful transmission.

The system consists of a portable computer, the USB-Wireless protocol conversion module and wireless data acquisition module, which can be suitable for various types of vehicle performance testing. Optimum anti-collision algorithm is adopted in wireless transmission part, and the system synchronous data acquisition between different modules can be realized by time compensation.
