Pantograph slide plate and contact wire play an important role in the process of electric energy transmission. However, the contact state between the two can affect the flow quality of the train and then affect the train operation. In order to more accurately judge the failure of the mesh system, a SAOA-HKELM sliding contact failure diagnosis method based on SmoteTomek is proposed in this paper. First, a metal-immersed carbon slide plate and copper wire are used as friction pairs to simulate the sliding operation process of pantograph-catenary system. The variation in the current-carrying stability coefficient and off-line rate with sliding speed, contact current, pressure fluctuation amplitude and pressure fluctuation frequency are obtained, and it is used as the criterion of pantograph-catenary failure. Second, a comprehensive sampling algorithm is used to supplement the minority samples in the experiment. The generated balanced dataset was used to train the hybrid kernel extreme learning machine failure diagnosis model, and the improved archimedes algorithm was used to optimize the parameters of the model. Aiming at the shortcomings of the basic archimedes algorithm, the circle chaotic mapping strategy, reverse learning strategy, individual mutation strategy, and the introduction of a nonlinear density factor are applied to the basic archimedes algorithm to expand the global search range of the basic algorithm, population flexibility, and optimize the population individual quality to form a shifty archimedes algorithm (SAOA). Finally, the accuracy of the model is compared with that of other models, which further proves the effectiveness of the model and the superiority of the improved algorithm for unbalanced datasets. © 2023 IEEE.
