In 1865, the second wave of Christianity movement was introduced into Taiwan through foreign missionaries, and thus the early church architectures were built. The images of church architectures and their reflections on local traditional architecture of Taiwan is an interesting topic. This study investigated the origin and development of church building of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, in order to understand how early Christianity presented religious characteristics by architecture entity and the formation of church architecture at the time. By literature review and time table, this study discussed the features of early church architecture of the Presbyterian Church. The cases included the currently existing monumental or historic churches, as well as the disappeared old churches only with photos remained. This study found that: 1) most of the early church architectures present style of "localization", yet the expression of churches in northern and southern Taiwan is different;2) elements of church architecture include red brick wall, pointed arch windows, flying buttresses, towers, and cross;3) church architecture has different characteristics of different regions.

Due to increase of video surveillance situation, advance of autonomous driving technology, and development of artificial neural network, the multi-object tracking (MOT) has been attracted attention in the computer vision community. Moreover, the importance of multi-input processing and real-time analysis is increasing with the need for fast processing of many videos. Modern multi-object trackers use sequential processing to input continuous frames of video and derive tracking trajectories for all objects mainly on a single server. When performing deep learning with high computation on a single server, latency inevitably occurs. The latency is the main reason that the tracker cannot meet the real-time requirements. Removing the number of operations to reduce latency will immediately lead to poor performance of tracker. Cloud edge computing is the best way to meet the real-time distributed requirements because it can solve the data transmission delay problem of traditional cloud computing and effectively cooperate between edge devices. In this paper, we propose a new system structure called Cloud Edge Multi Object (CEMO) tracker for developing deep learning-based cloud-edge real-time video analysis applications. CEMO tracker is a container-based microservice structure that divides large application functions into small, independent units, and is a flexible architecture based on Kubernetes, a container orchestration platform. CEMO tracker, which can efficiently perform operations on simultaneous input, integrate the results and show them to users, is expected to solve multiple objects tracking problems efficiently through distributed cloud edge computing technology.

Research in terms of security in vehicular architecture has been a focal point of deliberation in the automotive sector. The Automotive industry development has continuously evolved the scenario of adding more integration to networked vehicles or semi-autonomous vehicles. The end product of such manufacturing practices is a vehicle becoming a networked computer on wheels. In spite of providing numerous advantages, these developments in the automotive industry are also bringing more challenges in terms of security. Hence, the industry has been forced to emphasise the principle of Security by Design. Efforts in this direction have resulted in the formulation of the ISO/SAE 21434 standard. In this work, we focus on summarising the ISO/SAE 21434 standard and analysing its relevance for automotive architecture development. Related works in the standard's approach of Security by Design are summarised. Additionally, we propose an application work of the standard in the context of automotive architecture development as future work. © 2023 IEEE.

Challenges using modeling and simulation in architecture development

A discrete event simulation was developed combining the Optical Tracking Network (TeleTrak) and Satellite Position Attained by RF-Keyed Tracking (SPARK) system into one system to track, image, and identify space objects as they pass through the space fence to increase space situational awareness for the United States Air Force. The objectives for this study are threefold: model a “to-be” architecture for a combined TeleTrak and SPARK system to develop system requirements, determine if an optimal position for the telescope exists to return to while waiting for the next collect, and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of DOE and simulation principles and techniques. The paper explores the uses and pitfalls of modeling and simulation with this case study. While a working model remained elusive, several important observations emerged. Six recommendations are given to help others become more successful in a modeling and simulation environment along with ideas to pursue in additional research.

Towards development of an Analytical Model Relating FPGA architecture Parameters to Routability

We present an analytical model relating FPGA architectural parameters to the routability of the FPGA. The inputs to the model include the channel width and the connection and the switch block flexibilities. The output is an estimate of the proportion of nets in a large circuit that can be expected to be successfully routed on the FPGA. We assume that the circuit is routed to the FPGA using a single-step combined global/detailed router. We show that the model correctly predicts routability trends. We also present an example application to demonstrate that this model may be a valuable tool for FPGA architects. When combined with the earlier works on analytical modeling, our model can be used to quickly predict the routability without going through any stage of an expensive CAD flow. We envisage that this model will benefit FPGA architecture designers and vendors to quickly evaluate FPGA routing fabrics.

Changes in the social reality have resulted in a shift in both paradigm of contemporary architectural design and the whole architecture ***-behavior study increases its importance significantly in the new design ***,the teaching of environment-behavior does not need to rigidly adhere to the mode of existing theoretical courses of environmental psychology,but should turn to fully intervention in architectural education,and it is also has the *** support of the Department of architecture of Huazhong University of Science and Technology,we try to develop an open teaching strategy for environment-behavior teaching facing the development of contemporary *** we decomposed the original teaching target and reconstructed to establish a development system of cognitive analytic skills across grade and course *** this basis,the teaching content expanded,new curriculum system was constructed,teaching methods was *** several cycles of construction,loose course series have been initially established involving three related theoretical courses crossing the undergraduate and master education,and strategy training in architectural design(I),(III).Currently teaching content has been expanded to accommodate the environmental awareness of the designer’s own work,cognitive research on the design media,etc..The learning of knowledge and skills has achieved transfer between the concerned courses,including architectural design training.

The development of software-based systems for vehicles in compliance with the new standard ISO 26262 functional safety for road vehicles requires a common understanding between the two domains. In this paper, we consider the impact of the ISO 26262 to the concept phase of the vehicle development, especially the model-based development of electric/electronic architectures. To found a formal basis for the electric/electronic architecture modeling, located in the development process and addressed by ISO 26262, we introduce a meta-model, combining the major concepts and relations of electric/electronic architectures and ISO 26262. Safety analysis can be supported by data available in the electric/electronic architecture model. In this paper, we present a methodology to facilitate and accumulate context-based information from electric/electronic architecture models to use them as input information for safety analysis. We also demonstrate how to perform the safety analysis method, that is, failure mode and effect analysis, based on the same architecture description language as the electric/electronic architecture model and also within the same modeling tool. We also present a methodology for the modeling and consideration of safety aspects and requirements crossing different system perimeters. This facilitates the consistent description and analysis of systems of systems, such as contemporary vehicles. Copyright (C) 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Data-flow refers both to a language-level paradigm of computation and to a family of processor architectures based on this paradigm. This article elaborates data-flow language issues and the evolution of data-flow languages. In considering limits to the expressive power of these languages, underlying architectural issues are of necessity discussed. Although the article attempts to present a complete history of data-flow languages, it concentrates on those languages that specifically belong to this class and have been implemented for a data-flow machine. In many cases, the distinctions between issues of language semantics and machine architecture are unclear. Usually we have found that this reflects the evolution of data-flow, and the close association between language and architecture development. In some sections of the article, it may appear that there is an imbalance in the amount of detail presented when compared with other sections. This imbalance is proportional to the publications and the amount of information readily available for the topics.

Digitalization of public services, particularly in cross-border contexts, demands for a high level of interoperability. To effectively and systematically cater for interoperability in public service design, architecture development methodologies represent important means of support. The Design Science Research Methodology (DSRM) or the The Open Group architecture Framework (TOGAF) architecture development Method (ADM) provide great tools for rigorously developing digital public services and service architectures. However, these approaches do not per se sufficiently address interoperability. This paper proposes a methodical framework based on DSRM and TOGAF to develop public service architectures, which tackles all layers of interoperability of the European Interoperability Framework (EIF). The proposed framework is tested on the use-case of small-scale public procurement services and on PEPPOL standard specifications. The framework comprises six phases, covering the four layers of interoperability and the TOGAF viewpoints while enabling an iterative design process, which is inspired by DSRM.

On European level the EU Mandate M/490 including the final reports of the respective working groups are gaining momentum in the community. Two of the mandate's core results deal with architecture description and use case management. As a response to the mandate, among other deliverables, the Smart Grid architecture Model (SGAM) has been developed to provide a framework for Smart Grid architectures. Additionally, use case templates as well as a comprehensive methodology for use case management have been specified. The focus of this contribution is to demonstrate how use case management and the SGAM, and thus recommended by the EU, can be applied together in practice to specific use cases provided by the DISCERN project. The very purpose of the SGAM application is to share information among projects that implement similar use cases based on different technical solutions. Finally, open issues and research gaps to be addressed in order to utilize the SGAM will be presented.
