The step response of first-order systems is vital in control systems and electronics. Understanding this behaviour is key but often challenging. This article uses arduino with PWM to teach the step response in RC circuits, since arduino enables real-time data acquisition and visualisation, connecting theory to practice. The research seeks to illustrate the step response of an RC circuit using arduino, deepen knowledge of first-order systems, and offer a technique for collecting experimental data. All of this, since combining practical experiments with theoretical concepts boosts student involvement and understanding of dynamic systems. The work includes theoretical foundations, experimental procedures, and a brief discussion on the educational value of these activities.

This paper presents a new approach to teaching programming to undergraduate computer science students. A dedicated arduino board along with custom application programming interface (API) was introduced into programming classes with a view to strengthen students' engagement and improving the attractiveness of the course. The students were presented with basic functionalities of the board, which gave them a possibility to accomplish their own projects-typically video games-without any background in electronics. The level of engagement of the participants was observed by the tutors during classes and also reviewed based on questionnaires filled by 347 first-, second-, and third-year undergraduates. The results indicated that the proposed approach was well received by nearly 80%, while nearly 75% of the participants expressed a wish to continue their Computer Science education using arduino.

Recently, academia and industry have focused on the creation of new systems for mapping and exploration of unknown spaces in order to create advanced guide systems for robots and people affected by disabilities. In particular, the most common applications are related to the exploration of unknown and/or dangerous spaces that are not accessible to people by exploiting the advantages offered by ultrasonic technology. This work aims at designing a new low-cost system, namely, ultrasonic radar system, to blindly map environments by using ultrasonic sensors, then displaying the acquired information through an Android-based device.

This paper presents an API for communication between arduino and labview platforms, proposing a flexible structure for programming both to serve as a template for any project you want to undertake and optimizing the time of development of these. Proposes the use of the arduino UNO platform, this being open-hardware and low cost, being its open-source development software and free. Projects that can be addressed with the proposed structure can be of various kinds, data acquisition, control, hardware in loop, process monitoring, rapid prototyping, both for education and in research.

The automation industry is entirely dependent on closed-loop control strategies to address the inherent and time derived uncertain disturbances. PI control design has been in existence for solving the stability issues raised in any automated process. This research provides one such controller solution for the real-time nonlinear Two Input Two Output (TITO) spherical tank system, which is implemented on the arduino Mega microcontroller. The arduino based PI controller provides a cost-effective PI controller for this real-time system. In addition, the paper also discusses the servo response time and error analysis to assess the efficacy of the designed controller.

Instrumentino is an open-source modular graphical user interface framework for controlling arduino based experimental instruments. It expands the control capability of arduino by allowing instruments builders to easily create a custom user interface program running on an attached personal computer. It enables the definition of operation sequences and their automated running without user intervention. Acquired experimental data and a usage log are automatically saved on the computer for further processing. The use of the programming language Python also allows easy extension. Complex devices, which are difficult to control using an arduino, may be integrated as well by incorporating third party application programming interfaces into the Instrumentino framework. What happens if patient's health becomes critical in between that interval or when a doctor is not available with a patient. The answer is;a patient may lose her\ his life. So to avoid this critical situation;we are proposing a smart embedded system device which monitors patients health continuously. This system monitors patients heart rate, body temperature and saline liquid level (if any). if any of the above parameters goes beyond the threshold value, this smart device informs doctors or care taker and ask for corrective actions to save patients life.

In diesel engine, a lot of work is going on to enhance the capability of Engine Control Module (ECM) by adding different improved features. Most of the new features directly or indirectly have engine and vehicle speed as their contributing parameters. We need to provide actual engine and vehicle speed signals while testing these features and other ECM parameters which are affected by engine and vehicle speed. The instruments involved in generating these signals are not cost-effective. Digital circuits used to generate engine and vehicle speed signals have low cost but are inaccurate. So, this paper provides a low-cost arduino Timer and Interrupt based solution for generating these speed signals with high accuracy and precision. A graphical user interface (GUI) is also developed to get accurate (numeric) input from user. To mimic all possible engine speed conditions, crank cam displaced speed signals were also generated and given to ECM. The hardware developed using arduino can be used for testing of ECM remotely irrespective of actual vehicle or engine availability as it is self-sufficient of providing crank, cam and vehicle speed signals.

Considering the above scenario where the number of accidents occurring is very low, if we can execute the idea of the concept of utilizing sensors in the boats, we can diminish boat mishaps. This study was carried out within the scope of an undergraduate thesis. To produce an arduino based two dimensional plotter mechanical parts were collected, assembled and targeted mechanism was created. After the integration of the stabilizers into the mechanism that was created and the project framework is revealed in a healthy way, the hardware structure is completed by adding the necessary electronic components (motor drivers, stepper motor, servo motor, etc.). After that, arduino software was developed to enable the hardware to operate. At the last stage, the developed program was used to transfer the two-dimensional drawings converted to vectors into paper.
