Smart Integrated Circuit Breaker (SIGCB) is a highly computerized automatic electronic circuit breaker, which isolates the end-consumer loads from the supply mains, once when fault occurs in the load side or in the grid. The SIGCB acts like an electronic actuator if any error occurs within the system and update to user about the current situation, also it enforces the isolation when the voltage or current meets ahead of stability value. To avoid the inrush current the system waits for delay time and turns on naturally. © 2020 IEEE.

Intrusion Detection System with Remote Signalling for Vehicles Using an arduino controller and Radio-Frequency Technology

Malicious activities or policy violations have been a concern for the past years. For example, many people have been victims of robbery on vehicles. A conceptual diagram of an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) [1] [2] for vehicles with remote signaling using an arduino controller and radio-frequency technology is proposed in this paper. To address malicious activities on vehicles, two aspects are considered here, namely: notifier and detector. Firstly, an object-oriented C module that puts on and off a controller (installed inside the vehicle) and an anti-theft electronic editing that powered using an alternator and supported by a back-up battery are implemented. Secondly, a magnetic intrusion sensor, controlled by a proximity detector using radio-frequency technology, has been installed on each vehicle door. To enable IDS, a user needs to activate the monitoring system when leaving their vehicle. This is done using a remote system. In case the user does not activate the monitoring system while leaving the vehicle, a 5-meter-proximity detector will automatically lock the system and set off the monitoring system whenever the user is outside the detection zone. The detection zone is a 5-meter radius area centered at the controller. Here, monitoring consists of geolocating any intruders within the detection zone. This means, if any of the vehicle doors is opened while the system is still locked, the controller will activate the vehicle alarm for a few seconds, thereafter send an SMS notification to the owner. The system automatically unlocks as soon as the proximity detector is within the detection zone. The contribution of this paper, as compared to other similar work, is to reinforce the electronic implementation of IDS.

Voice-based motion control of a robotic vehicle through visible light communication

Robotic vehicles and their applications have gained widespread significance in recent times in order to automate every sphere of human activities. Besides, it invites a great deal of attention in environments where human presence or intervention becomes very difficult and in most cases not being possible. The paper therefore proposes a voice based movement and evolves a direction control scheme for a robotic vehicle in a Light Fidelity (LiFi) medium with a view to exploit its available enormous bandwidth. Choice of Li-Fi as a medium owes to its quick response time and ability to respond to voice based commands. It engages the role of an artificial neural network (ANN) for recognizing the syllables through Levenberg-Marquardt training algorithm. The scheme relies on two sets of instructions issued to the vehicle controlled by the arduino controller, which allows acting in accordance to the instruction recognized by the voice recognition module. Αcloud-based home electricity data-monitoring system,which is based on an arduino Mega controller,is proposed for monitoring the electricity consumption(electrical power)and power quality(PQ)in *** system is also capable of monitoring the fundamental frequency and supply-voltage transients to ensure that the appliances operate in a safe operation *** measured data(voltage and current)are transmitted through a Wi Fi device between the arduino controller and *** transmission control protocol(TCP)server is set up to acquire the high-data transmission *** server system immediately displays the calculated parameters and the waveform of the acquired signal.A comparison with a standard measurement device shows that the proposed system,which can be built at a low cost,exhibits the same functions as a factory product.

This paper presents the design and the implementation of a smart irrigation system supplied from solar energy using off-shelf components as part of a senior design project. Introducing smart irrigation technology enhances the effectiveness of water utilization and will help farmers make their activities more beneficial. In addition, it is to increase the agriculture sustainability in common and considering the characteristics of irrigation in the rural areas. This paper brings forward new device based on wireless networks such as solar photovoltaic technology, arduino-based controllers, transmitters, receivers, and sensor nodes are used to measure soil moisture, humidity, temperature, and the sensor readings are transmitted to a remote station. Experimental results indicated that the developed system could provide a sustainable solution to enhance the efficiency of water use and to preserve it in the agricultural fields while using solar photovoltaic energy as a renewable power supply.

Sit-to-stand is a common activity in daily life. It is difficult for the elderly and patients with lower limb disorders to complete this motion due to limb pain, muscle weakness, partial loss of motor control function, and physical defects in joints. An STS assistive device is a piece of automated medical equipment that can facilitate rehabilitation training for patients with lower limb disorders and improve their lower limb function. In this paper, we introduce a 3-DOF series type STS assistive device. First, we selected 26 healthy adults to carry out an STS transfer experiment, and we obtained the trajectory and velocity of each joint and the law of plantar pressure during STS motion. Second, based on the above kinematics and dynamics law, a 3-DOF series mechanism was designed. Through forward and inverse kinematics analysis, the relationship between the end-effector and the linear actuator was established. The trajectory planning of the end-effector was carried out according to the natural STS transfer trajectory, and the law of the linear actuator was obtained. The trajectory planning was verified by ADAMS. Finally, the arduino controller was used to build the control system of the STS assistive device, and the prototype experiment was carried out.

Robotic vehicles have been actively researched in recent times to automate most of the commercial applications to ease the daily life of consumers. Robotic automation has been an integral part of industrial concerns drastically reducing the manpower and effort needed for various processes. They are mainly based on RF communication, the spectrum of which is quite scarce. This has necessitated alternate means of providing communication paths for robotic vehicles. Light fidelity (Li-Fi) is a rapidly emerging technology exploiting the optical properties of abundantly available light energy. In spite of being limited by a line-of-sight communication unlike RF, they do not provide any hazards as well as quite suitable for small- to medium-scale indoor communication. This research article has proposed a Li-Fi based robotic vehicle controlled by voice commands issued from instructors. Voice recognition is achieved using MFCC-NN model, while the light energy is collected by a solar panel replacing the conventional photodetectors. The efficiency of the proposed work is established after observing superior performance for a wide range of experimentations done. The characteristics of light propagation through different glass medium have also been investigated justifying their probable utility in a small-scale business environment.

We present the design of smart and dynamic floral clothing accessories. The statement "smart" represents the floral clothing accessory that is able to sense the signals coming from the surrounding and makes responds, or is executed with the preset program. Besides, it could be remote control by using smart phone or computer. "Dynamic" means that the floral clothing accessory is able to show dynamic visual effects such as a flower blooming, branches swaying, light tracking just like a sunflower, or a butterfly wings waving. The main floral components of the product are a variety of flowers, leaves, branches and butterflies combined together. The products are operated by SMA actuating mechanisms, arduino controllers, and various sensors. The prototype of the products have been developed and can be realized in clothing application in the future, which will bring new features for daily clothing to add more highlights and fashion.

The demand for CNC machines in educational institutions and industries is rapidly increasing. This paper presents an affordable model of a CNC machine that can engrave the circuit's layout on copper plates. Our emphasis on designing this machine is to model a low cost and robust model of CNC machine for PCB prototyping. This CNC machine is a combination of electro-mechanical design and control circuitry. Because of its user-friendly design, it provides great ease in engraving operation. First, a layout is designed by using a standard PCB designing software. Then the finalized layout is converted into G-code. This code contains axis information which is translated by the firmware of the microcontroller. According to the axis information, the controller drives the mechanical assembly with the accuracy of micrometers. The result shows better performance on various circuits and proved to be a cost-effective tool for academia and industry.

This paper develops a Net Zero Energy Building (NZEB) prototype with renewable energy integration applications. Most of the power generated by the utilities is consumed by the domestic loads and with urbanization;energy demand is continuously increasing in developing countries like India. To meet the ever growing demand, generation has to be increased and thereby transmitted over long distances which results in increased system losses reducing the overall system efficiency and reliability. Generation addition by non-renewable sources would increase the greenhouse gas emissions caused by the additional consumption of fossil fuels. Towards addressing this problem, there is a lot of scope for researchers to increase the overall system efficiency and reliability and also to preserve the fossil fuels for future generations. One solution is by adopting Net Zero Energy Building (NZEB) concept which includes integration of renewable energy generation (like solar), intelligent controllers, Internet of Things (IoT) etc., for home energy automation. NZEB concept ensures that the loads of a building are controlled in such a way that the net energy consumed from the utility grid over a period of time (monthly/annually) will be close to zero. The net energy is the difference of the energy imported from grid to the energy exported to grid over a period of time. In this paper the real time NZEB prototype is developed with appropriate assumptions using wireless sensors to achieve home automation with IoT.
