Hand gesture control system has been unfolding the entire humanity to quite a wide range of applications, such as human android interaction, automation & control, virtual games, 3D animations, posture recognition language, traffic signal controlling, virtual play station, etc. This glove can be used to control small scale machines and home appliances. Increased usage of robots in unfavorable cases where conditions don't stay certain like rescue operations and nuclear environment has made advancement in the modern world of army and defense. This work proposes an integrated approach of tracking and recognition of hands which is intended to be used as human-robot interaction interface (inferred from HMI (human machine interface)).

This research paper proposes a framework to perform ( hardware in the loop) HIL simulation in real-time (RT), the framework includes steps for the formulation of the Target RT Computer and Open Source System, which are important elements in RT modelling. In order to carry out tests, the implementation of the frequency response of a single area electric power system, including primary frequency control, is proposed. The electric power system was prepared to be implemented in the RT-Lab software that is compatible with MATLAB Simulink, in order to simulate in real-time with the Opal OP4510 device. Besides, the controller was designed in Simulink to be able to implement through the arduino programming platform;they were also connected to work in HIL in RT. The results of the simulation and performance analysis show that for the case proposed with HIL, the primary control happens within a few seconds of the frequency variation. The control helps to re-establish the balance between the generated power and power demanded, thus stabilizing the system frequency. Elements formulated using this framework were successfully used in the primary frequency control.

This paper deals with hardware implementation of the robust sensor fault detection and accommodation system of F8 aircraft control system. Both detection and accommodation of normal acceleration sensor is done using two different models of neural network. The simulation model of the novel method of fault accommodation is tested for timing constraints in the embedded system target of ARM processor. Longitudinal plant dynamics of F8 aircraft model and C-Star controller is used for validation of neural network based sensor fault detection and accommodation (NNSFA) system. The robust sensor fault accommodation system is implemented on ARM target of Atmel SAM3X8E ARM Cortex-M3 CPU. This board is inbuilt with ADC and DAC ports to interface pilot input command and the display of the cockpit.

The concept of a hardware-in-the-loop method of implementing open-loop control of a three phase modular multilevel converter (MMC) using a cyclone II FPGA (field-programmable gate array) device on an Altera DE2 board is presented. Control signals are generated for the lower and upper level of each arm of the MMC by comparing reference signals with a carrier signal. This MMC topology employs a large number of switches depending on the number of levels needed in the output waveform. For its efficient operation, these switches need to operate as fast as possible and in parallel. Hence, an FPGA is a preferred choice for generating the switching signal. The analog-to-digital (ADC) pins of an arduino due micro-controller is used to interface the FPGA controller with the MMC and implemented in MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation and experimental results presented affirm the effectiveness of this open loop control implementation.

Storms in desert areas cause sand accumulation on the surface of photovoltaic panels so producing a decrease in the electrical conversion efficiency per day of solar farms ranging from about 0.6% up to 80%. Hence, continuous activities for cleaning the photovoltaic panels are required in total absence of water and under severe environmental conditions for the workers. In this communication we present a 12 V battery-powered autonomous robot for cleaning of dusty photovoltaic panels. The cleaning strategy adopts two helical brushes placed in front of and behind the robot. According to the robot movement direction, the forward brushes remove the sand until it falls out from the photovoltaic panels. The robot has been conceived to be moved as a half-track equipped with two independent rubber belts powered by two DC motors. The electronic onboard control system is based on arduino due platform and employs ultrasonic sensors providing the real-time effective position of the robot, the movement regulations as well its direction and speed.

Biopotential electrodes are essential for measurements of biological signals. There are many different manufacturers and many different types of electrodes on the market. Essential parameters such as impedance, distortion and phase angle are often not disclosed by the manufacturer. This work presents a simple device that can be used to test electrical parameters of any biopotential electrodes in the frequency range of few Hz to 2 kHz. The device is based on arduino due and uses this board's internal DAC and ADC for generating and sampling the measurement signal. The proposed device was used to measure electrical parameters of a brass biopotential electrode with various signal voltages and also for evaluation of four different commercially available Ag/AgCl electrodes. The traditional method of tea leaves harvesting is done in following ways, such as Hand Plucking using knife, Hand Plucking without using Knife. In the recent years the harvesting machines are introduced which can be operated by a single person or multiple persons and also a robotic vehicle. The challenges faced in the above systems are not enough capacity of human resources, intruding of wild animals into the fields, the machines don't have the intelligence on its own and also the robotic vehicle is terrain dependent which can be used only in the plain terrain. But the fields in India are irregular terrain. This paper proposed a semi-automatic system where the tea leaves will be harvested automatically by a robotic arm which will pluck the tea leaves based on the grade. The grade identification is done using the image processing techniques such as, Key Frame extraction, Rice counting, optical flow, and noise model with segmentation. The proposed work is novel because it has capabilities of considering motion with key frame capabilities and the noise model.

This paper describes a system design for testing implantable devices, namely pacemakers, that measures selected pacemaker parameters to indicate their proper functionality or potential malfunction. The resulting signals are interpreted and plotted using the programming interface of MATLAB. The efficiency of the resulting wiring is tested on real pacemakers and compared to the values of commercial programmers. The system is designed for easy and universal measurement of pacemaker parameters for learning purposes in the teaching process.

The paper shows that applying a uniformed control design methodology enables to modify the control structure designed to maintain zero permanent control error for the control signal steps to a control structure designed to maintain zero permanent control error even for a linearly varying control signal. The different design solutions have the same basis and essentially the same result. It is also shown that the synthesis will be radically simplified if we consider all input variables of the control structure to be a disturbance. This statement immediately enables to consider the controller as a block tracking the control (analogy to a disturbance observer). Zero permanent control error (for any disturbance signal) is achieved because the control structure behaves as a corresponding derivative.
