Efficient power management remains a significant challenge in remote sensor networks due to isolated operational environments and limited traditional energy sources. Existing solutions often struggle to adapt to variable demands and incur high maintenance costs. To address these challenges, this research presents a novel power management system tailored for remote sensor nodes. Leveraging fuzzy-logic methodology, the system intelligently allocates energy from diverse sources such as solar, wind, and batteries, optimizing power distribution while extending the system's operational lifespan. Implemented on an arduino mega 2560 microcontroller, the system offers adaptability and compatibility with various IoT applications. Its plug-and-play design enables seamless integration with sensor nodes, enhancing their self-powered capabilities. Validation through extensive simulations using Proteus 8.12 Pro confirms the system's efficacy, compatibility, and reliability in sustaining continuous power flow to variable loads and battery units. This research bridges the gap in remote sensor power management, offering a promising solution to mitigate challenges associated with traditional power systems in such environments. By reducing maintenance costs and enhancing reliability, this innovative approach holds promise for enhancing the longevity and effectiveness of remote sensor networks.

This paper reveals the easy way to control a simple frequency driver, in this case, the arduino mega 2560 board acts as a driver controller, driving a BLDC motor also known as the electronically commutated motor. The advantages and disadvantages of using BLDC motors compared to other motor types and their applications will be highlighted. The simulation is made in Proteus 8.3 Professional and the driver is made from three high-speed MOSFET drivers TC4420.

Control engineering is an interdisciplinary field requiring knowledges on math and physics, circuits, sensors, actuator, and microcontrollers (for digital control implementation). It also provides users experiences in testing, simulation and real-time implementation. This paper presents a real-time level control of a laboratory water tank plant demonstrating the essence of control engineering. The objective is to design and apply a PID controller to maintain the water level in a cylinder tank by using arduino microcontrollers. After plant modelling and device testing, controllers are designed, and the closed-loop system is simulated. Refined controllers are then implemented through arduino mega 2560. By comparing the simulation and experimental closed-loop system performances, the difference caused by plant-model mismatch is discussed. The importance of integrating math, physics, and circuits with arduino programming in embedded control systems is highlighted.

The most widely used control strategy in industry is proportional integral derivative (PID) controller. The popularity of PID controllers can be attributed partly to their robust performance in a wide range of operating conditions and partly to their functional simplicity. One of the applications is to control CNC cutting machine model by using permanent magnet DC motor as actuator. In the current work, we contribute to present the design of Real-time PID tracking controller using arduino mega 2560 for a permanent magnet DC using Matlab with the intention to both illustrate graphical interface properties using (Matlab GUI) and display the responses of DC motor controlled through PID in real time under real constraints and disturbances. Furthermore, we implement it to the selected arduino by using Support Package for arduino Hardware in MATLAB. The speed control implementation of permanent magnet DC motor based on arduino mega 2560 and L298N H-Bridge as alimentation using PID control method has been validated by experiments on the physical system. Practical results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and advantage of the system control scheme in Matlab in real time. Performance analysis shows the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme in real time.

随着现代社会飞速发展,人们对居住环境条件的要求也越来越高,智能家居慢慢成为人们普遍追求的产品,但因为智能家居行业产品生产无标准化与生产成本过高,导致智能家居并不常见。智能家居系统的核心部分是其控制系统,如何使其功能更满足人们的生活需求是该领域研究的热门话题之一。本论文以智能家居系统的刚性需求为出发点,结合相关传感器技术,设计并实现了一套智能家居控制系统。论文首先介绍了智能家居控制系统的基本概念,简单描述了国内外智能家居发展历史与现状,并推测了智能家居几年后的发展方向与技术状况。其次,通过市场分析进行论证比对,将arduino mega 2560作为核心主控板,并选取WiFi模块、ZigBee模块等,实现了一套基于arduino mega 2560的智能家居控制系统。在其硬件子系统上,由主控单元、检测单元、光控单元、网络单元、报警单元和显示单元六大单元组成,并且各个单元模块协同运作,具备采集、存储、处理室内环境数据与远程操作家居设备等功能。在此硬件子系统的基础上,使用arduino IDE的开源电子编程平台进行相应的软件开发,从而完成智能家居控制系统软件子系统的设计实现。最后对系统整体做测试。测试结果表明:基于arduino mega 2560的智能家居控制系统可以正常工作,并且达到预期目标。本设计的新颖性在于使用arduino开源平台,并基于低能耗的理念,方便操作,与同类产品相比,具备易扩展、低成本、安防性等突出优势,适用于现代智能家居市场,具有巨大的推广与使用的价值。

This paper proposes a new control strategy that combines the standard P &O algorithm with the fuzzy logic mechanism. The objective of implementing the P &O control strategy based on variable-step size is to operate a photovoltaic generator (PVG) at a maximal power point (MPP) using one of the two switches, increasing or decreasing the actual duty cycle for controlling the boost converter. This is heavily dependent on the signs of the voltage and power variations of the PVG panel. Furthermore, the fuzzy logic mechanism is used to monitor the voltage and power variation and generate the optimum step size that immediately brings the preceding duty cycle toward its optimum. Therefore, the proposed combination allows improving the standard P &O-MPPT performance. The entire PV pumping system-based permanent magnet synchronous motor has been modeled and simulated using Simulink/SimPowerSystem software. The validation of the proposed control strategy is demonstrated experimentally using a PV system operating in islanded mode. The experimental validation is carried out using arduino mega 2560 board, which is programmed using the graphical interface of the MATLAB/Simulink software. The obtained simulation and experimental results prove the superiority of the proposed control strategy as compared to the standard P &O-MPPT control strategy under different weather conditions.

Today, all smartphones, notebooks, or other communication devices could connect to the cloud, so the data are accessible everywhere. When these devices are interconnected through the internet, they make an Internet of Things (IoT) network that exchanges data among network nodes and other services. IoT has a broad application area from smart applications to various industrial usages. However, the high volume of data transferred in the IoT network makes it crucial to implement mechanisms to transfer the data safe and secure. Enciphering is one of the best techniques to offer end-to-end security. Considering an IoT network, nodes have restricted resources, and applying classical cryptography methods are costly and not efficient, so lightweight block ciphers are one of the sophisticated solutions to overcome security drawbacks in this scope. In this paper, ten lightweight algorithms involve AES, PRESENT, LBlock, Skipjack, SIMON, XTEA, PRINCE, Piccolo, HIGHT, RECTANGLE tested to evaluate their performance for key factors such as memory usage (RAM and ROM), energy consumption, throughput, and execution time for both encryption and decryption modes over cloud transmission. We have done simulations using Raspberry Pi 3 and arduino mega 2560 as the leading devices in the IoT scope. As a result, this paper will help IoT developers to choose the right platform and enciphering algorithm to set up a secure network due to multiple factors like energy and memory usage, especially for software platforms.

This paper is about an open source SCADA system Emoncms which is used to monitor different parameters of a solar water pumping system for Pakistani Conditions. A prototype built in lab for the overall system is also discussed in this paper. The parameters monitored are environmental parameters which include temperature, humidity and solar irradiance;hydro parameters include water level in the water tank, water flow rate into the tank and electrical parameters include Photovoltaic panel voltage, battery voltage and load current. These parameters are collected by arduino mega 2560 which acts as a hub for the sensors and then a string of data which contains information about different parameters which were measured using sensors is sent through a serial communication at a sampling rate of 30 seconds to Raspberry Pi which has open source SCADA Emoncms server installed. The Emoncms identify the different parameters sent to it, perform logging and display data in three different dashboards. The first dashboard has live parameters displayed over it, the second dashboard gives graphical view of real time changes in the parameters and the third dashboard displays the historically logged data of different parameters monitored.
