This paper addresses the challenges faced by individuals with impairments, focusing on their specific needs. Moreover, the insights from this study can be applied to individuals who have encountered accidents or various similar circumstances. The primary objective of this endeavor is to mitigate their discomfort. The project demonstrates the creation of an affordable machine control system utilizing IoT technology. This system incorporates functionalities such as speech control and hand gestures, making it beneficial for people with impairments. The Internet of Things (IoT) pertains to the interconnectedness of electronic devices, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity among machines, vehicles, structures, and other entities. This connectivity enables the gathering and sharing of data. The application of IoT technology in this undertaking facilitates wireless control of devices via internet connectivity. The project employs a Node MCU development board as the central computing module. Furthermore, the project envisions an interface that empowers users through voice commands and hand gestures, accessible through a dedicated app. The MIT Software Inventor employs an online speech-to-text infrastructure to enable speech control. The system listens for the user's vocal commands and recognizes hand angular positions. Upon detecting specific predefined phrases, corresponding actions are triggered to activate or deactivate the machines. The innovative aspect of this concept lies in its ability to empower differently-abled individuals to effortlessly control machines through voice commands and hand gestures. The proposed system extends its applications to the industrial sector, streamlining machinery management and enhancing personnel control. This app-based interface can be accessed from any global location, further enhancing its accessibility and usability. © 2023

In Indonesian, Horticulture is one part of agriculture that is very important for the survival of the Indonesian people. Crops are useful to meet people’s food needs. The cultivation of agriculture crop very dependent on climate, weather and external factors. The optimal environment will provide optimal plant growth results, so people must really pay attention to the condition of these crops. To maintain plant growth so that crops can grow well, it is necessary to monitor the crops. To find out how plant growth, which needed a system to monitor plant growth. This paper will discuss about the implementation of a plant growth monitoring system. This system will check the climate, weather, and external factors like air, soil, light, and others, which will affect the crops. Internet of Things (IoT) assumes a significant job in a large portion of the fields. The utilization of IoT expanded in view of the different preferences we can get from that. The horticulture is where a great deal of progress is required because that is one of the fundamental needs and a huge area of individuals is associated with that. All this information is sent by arduino uno dev boards to the Ubidots IoT (Internet of Things) cloud platform. Data in Ubidots will be sent to the user’s smartphone.

Using hand gestures for controlling laptop features is a creative and innovative strategy of communication between users and devices. As compared to existing methods, the technique of hand gesture has the benefit of being easier to use. By using this technique, the conventional method of using mouse, keyboards, and controllers will have to change since by utilizing the proposed solution, one can interact with the computer with hand gestures. In this technique, ultrasonic sensor is used to classify the hand movement in real time. Ultrasonic sensors (HC-SR04) measure the distance of the user’s hand by using sound waves to calculate the time difference between reflected waves. The principle thought of our methodology is to accelerate the interaction with the computer, by using universally used equipment like a laptop, arduino uno board, and low-cost sensors like the HC-SR04. By the use of PyAutoGUI and PySerial, the device was able to communicate and interpret the input data by the arduino. Hence by acting along these lines, any user can easily interact with the computer using simple, easy to learn hand gestures. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The exhaust gases emissions from the vehicles that run on the gasoline and diesel release large amounts of harmful gaseous pollutants into the environment. These pollutants not only harm the environment but also causes serious health issues for human beings, so there is a need to control and monitor the emissions from the vehicles, a measurement is made for the emissions of the vehicles. The sole purpose of this tool is to pave the way for consumer or owner of vehicles to beware of the emissions from the vehicles. The hardware components to be used in making this tool are arduino uno board which has atmega32 has microcontroller, mq2 and mq7 gas sensors for sensing the constituents of exhaust gases, smart for viewing the detailed amounts of sensed pollutants on your screen and Bluetooth module for transferring the data from controller to smart phone, also the software to be used is arduino IDE and App inventor. The methodology adopted in this study is theoretical method which includes the ideology of developing the functional smart motor vehicle exhaust gas sensor, construction and testing. Every time someone wants to enter a traditional door, they usually have to open it by hand. As a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, it is imperative that every human being take precautions such as wearing a mask, maintaining a distance, sanitising their hands and arms, and not touching anything excessive. A prototype of an automatic door control system with a body temperature sensor is designed to limit direct physical contact with conventional door knobs, preventing the spread of COVID-19. The main motto of this project is to utilise a sensor with a combination of embedded equipment for the door opening system. The components MLX90614 Temperature Sensor, Passive Infrared Sensor, arduino uno, 16 × 2 Liquid Crystal Display, Servo Motor, and Light Emitting Diodes are used to implement the system. The door gets opened when any human movement is detected near the door, as well as when it detects its temperature and the presence of a mask with the help of various tools and technologies. A passive infrared sensor observes the motion and transmits a signal to the transistor, which in turn gives an interrupt signal to the programmable ATMEGA microcontroller. A contactless infrared digital temperature sensor then senses the body temperature of the human, and if the temperature is above the brink temperature, the output signal is transmitted to the direct current motor that's used to unlock the door and to the arduino. This is a prototype where all these electronics are plugged together to get the corresponding output © 2023

Flotation with microbubblesis one of the most viable methodi for separating oil fr6m water. Microbubbles are formed by the' injection 'of a small air flow through 'a pressurized liquid flow. In the present study, a microbubble generation arid measurement unit (MBGMU) was constructed to measure mean microbubble size through the liquid flow and airflow of the system. The liquid flow rate was measured by a Hall effect-type sensor, whereas it was necessary to construct a sensor for bubbles immersed in glycerin for the determination of the airflow rate. This sensor was used to determine the minimum and maximum airflow limits, and the airflow measurements were compared with pressure gauge readings to establish a calibration curve. The arduino uno R3 (R) board was the microcontroller of the MBGMU for the determination of the liquid flow rate. A coupled system involving a GoPro Hero 6 camera and microscope lenses was assembled to capture images of the microbubbles. The airflow rate ranged from 0.001 to 10,0001/h, and a high linear regression coefficient was found (98%) for the calibration between airflow and the variation in pressure. Images of microbubbles in motion were captured for future analyses. This innovative device is a promising system to be applied in industrial processes for the control of microbubbles produced in flotation systems. (C) 2019 Institution of Chemical Engineers. Design of remote monitored solar powered grasscutter robot with obstacle avoidance using IoT

arduino uno-based Solar powered Grasscutter designed to cut healthy grass in places like parks, hotels, public places, etc., The Grasscutter is designed through IoT (Internet of Things) technology, which is controlled remotely through Blynk application supported with Bluetooth module. The proposed model consists of hardware components like arduino uno, Solar panel, DC motor, motor driver, rechargeable batteries and Bluetooth module. The designed model is programmed through arduino IDE to control the operation of the Grasscutter. The control mechanism and movements such as Forward movement, Backward movement, Right movement, Left movement, On mechanism, Off mechanism and Stop function for the Grasscutter prototype. An ultrasonic sensor connected to the head of the model avoids the system from colliding with obstacles while in movement.

Time dependent performance analysis of a Smart Trash bin using state-based Markov model and Reliability approach

In this paper, the authors have developed a quantitative mathematical model to assess the performance of a smart trash bin. This model takes into account six hardware components of the trash bin, including arduino uno, ultrasonic sensor, servo motor, switch, battery, jumper wires utilizing Markov modelling and reliability-based approach. The objective of this model is to facilitate timely planning of repair and maintenance activities, ensuring prolonged availability of the smart trash bin after identifying the weakest component/components of the system. The efficient functioning of all components in the smart trash bin is imperative for the timely transmission of the garbage level data to the municipal corporation. To achieve this, the paper focuses on evaluating key reliability metric for smart trash bin system, specifically reliability, unreliability, and Mean time to Failure (MTTF). The modelling approach employs a state-based Markov model, from which Kolmogorov differential equations are derived and subsequently solved using Laplace transformation. After collecting data from organization and experts of the field explicit expression for system reliability, unreliability and MTTF have been obtained. Furthermore, this study includes sensitivity analysis of the system to pinpoint critical components which is switch and servo motor, requiring attention for proper maintenance. The research finding indicates that reliability and MTTF of the system diminish as the failure rate of the components increase under certain conditions.

The emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) enables both people and devices to access services, data, and actuator control from remote locations, even spanning thousands of miles. Ensuring authentication, communication integrity, and confidentiality for IoT devices is essential for systems security and still an open challenge too. In this context, Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs) have gained significant attention due to their ability to generate stable, tamper-resistant, and random fingerprints that can be successfully exploited to provide cryptography keys or to implement authentication schemes. However, PUFs necessitate dedicated hardware, making them costly and available only in specific designs, thereby impeding their broader adoption. In this paper, we enable the usage of static random access memory (SRAM)-based PUF on arduino uno device, an open-source board implemented upon an ATMega328P, without requiring special hardware. We analyze SRAM PUF quality parameters and how to reconstruct a reliable cryptography key by engineering a fuzzy extractor. Additionally, we design a secure bootloader as root-of-trust and, as a case study, we detail how to authenticate arduino Sketches and how to implement an authentication scheme.
