Here, we are going to describe the design and the cost estimation of a PV analyzer based on arduino uno, an electronic platform. The purpose is to introduce a PV analyzer with lower manufacturing cost as compared to other's. This proposed design is the sequential assemblage of voltage sensor, current sensor, temperature sensor, variable rheostat and arduino uno. The analyzer will contribute in measurement and keeping the record of various output parameters like current, voltage & power. It also store the data of the parameters (temperature) affecting the output of a PV system. This designed analyzer has been tested for different probable conditions and it performed up to the mark. This sequential design can be used for any PV system providing set of the components with specific power rating. Design and cost estimation of the above mentioned analyzer can be seen here.

Persistent increase in population of world is demanding more and more supply of food. Hence there is a significant need of advancement in cultivation to meet up the future food needs. It is important to know moisture levels in soil to maximize the output. But most of farmers cannot afford high cost devices to measure soil moisture. Our research work in this paper focuses on home-made low cost moisture sensor with accuracy. In this paper we present a method to manufacture soil moisture sensor to estimate moisture content in soil hence by providing information about required water supply for good cultivation. This sensor is tested with several samples of soil and able to meet considerable accuracy. Measuring soil moisture is an effective way to determine condition of soil and get information about the quantity of water that need to be supplied for cultivation. Two separate methods are illustrated in this paper to determine soil moisture over an area and along the depth.

This paper proposes the use of Rochelle salt (KNaC4O6.4H2O) as a piezoelectric sensor for efficient smart energy saving systems. The piezoelectric properties of Rochelle salt tested for different configurations have been discussed and the best possible arrangement has been proposed for pressure sensing by arduino uno. The Rochelle salt crystals have been synthesized, converted into powdered form and molded in suitable configuration efficient for pressure sensing applications. The proposed Rochelle configuration comprises of 26gms of Rochelle salt packed in cylindrical insulating tube of length 11.4cm and diameter of 5cm employing Cu-Al as electrode combination capable of generating the maximum output voltage of 391mV, which is sufficient enough to be sensed by arduino uno. This arrangement has been used for efficient energy saving applications in tunnels, bridges. The lighting system in the tunnel or the lights along the bridge can be turned ON when the vehicle enters the tunnel or cross the bridge by installing the proposed Rochelle sensor on the entrance of tunnel or bridge and can be effectively turned OFF when the vehicle crosses the tunnel or bridge by employing arduino uno, thus leading to the efficient energy saving lighting systems. The prototype of the proposed system has been successfully developed and tested experimentally.

In this paper, a simple method battery charge controller has been designed to protect the battery from over-charging and deep discharges. The control of the process is entrusted to arduino uno board, that must be able to find out the battery state and determine when the charge process must be finished. The state of the battery is perfectly controlled all the time. The use of an arduino uno based on microcontroller has been considered in order to allow a good flexibility, to simplify the hardware required (only a few external components are used), and to provide an intelligent tool to undertake, through the programmed algorithm. A buck DC-DC Converter has been used to step down voltage from the panel photovoltaic to charge voltage of the battery. This paper presents a comparison between the simulation and practical realization results of the device. A good agreement is obtained.

In this paper a new, low cost and efficient PV analyzer has been designed using the arduino open source electronic platform for remote areas of developing countries. The designed analyzer is observed to have satisfactory accuracy and provides deep insight of PV arrays. The analyzer comprises of arduino uno, irradiation sensor, temperature sensor, voltage sensor and current sensor. It was tested for various commercially available PV panels of different types and sizes. The obtained results are reliable and have comparable performance to the commercially available PV analyzers. This PV analyzer is of special interest for solar energy research and application in developing regions, as it is both cost effective and open source. It can be modified according to the demands of the project. The details of the analyzer's components and implementation are described.

Waste management is one of the primary problem that the world faces irrespective of the case of developed or developing country. The key issue in the waste management is that the garbage bin at public places gets overflowed well in advance before the commencement of the next cleaning process. It in turn leads to various hazards such as bad odor & ugliness to that place which may be the root cause for spread of various diseases. To avoid all such hazardous scenario and maintain public cleanliness and health this work is mounted on a smart garbage system. The main theme of the work is to develop a smart intelligent garbage alert system for a proper garbage management .This paper proposes a smart alert system for garbage clearance by giving an alert signal to the municipal web server for instant cleaning of dustbin with proper verification based on level of garbage filling. This process is aided by the ultrasonic sensor which is interfaced with arduino uno to check the level of garbage filled in the dustbin and sends the alert to the municipal web server once if garbage is filled . After cleaning the dustbin, the driver confirms the task of emptying the garbage with the aid of RFID Tag. RFID is a computing technology that is used for verification process and in addition, it also enhances the smart garbage alert system by providing automatic identification of garbage filled in the dustbin and sends the status of clean-up to the server affirming that the work is done. The whole process is upheld by an embedded module integrated with RF ID and IOT Facilitation. The real time status of how waste collection is being done could be monitored and followed up by the municipality authority with the aid of this system. In addition to this the necessary remedial/ alternate measures could be adapted. An Android application is developed and linked to a web server to intimate the alerts from the microcontroller to the urban office and to perform the remote monitoring of the cleaning

BackgroundThere is a rising issue of pollution in the atmosphere. Particulate matter, CO, CO2, NO, NO2, ozone etc. are causing adverse impacts to the surrounding and the well-being of every individual living across the entire globe. Therefore, there is a stringent need to be aware of these atmospheric pollutants for safeguarding the quality of air that we human being breathe *** this work, we integrate microcontrollers like arduino uno and Raspberry Pi along with the primary measuring sensors like ozone sensor and PM7003 sensor for carrying out characterization of air quality and variability investigation of several traits/parameters by including but not limited to temperature, pressure, humidity, PM1, PM2.5, PM10, and ozone. By deploying arduino uno, Raspberry Pi and other miscellaneous components, we developed an interactive and effective method for collecting practical data corresponding to the quality of *** and discussionFirst, we present our experimental set-up along with its observations made using the set-up for the several parameters considered for measuring the air quality. Then, we present the graphical comparative study of traits/parameters like temperature, pressure, humidity, PM1, PM2.5, PM10, and ozone. Then, we present the summary of observations made for the major pollutants for characterization of air quality and variability investigation. Then, we carry out the case study using three different types of sensors like temperature, MQ2, and MQ4 sensors as an extension of the major segment of our work. Finally, the performance validation of measurement was done using four common performance indicators.

Currently, there is a significant increase in incidents of drunk driving and road accidents, primarily caused by drivers who lack control over their vehicles. Approximately 31% of traffic crash fatalities in the United States are attributed to drivers who were under the influence of alcohol. The number of fatalities resulting from these avoidable collisions in 2021 amounted to 13,384 individuals. Over a span of 10 years, the average number of fatalities amounted to 10,850 individuals. Implementing an engine locking system that incorporates alcohol detection can effectively mitigate the occurrence of accidents caused by intoxicated driving. An engine locking system that incorporates alcohol detection technology can prove highly beneficial for law enforcement agencies. It offers an automated safety solution for automobiles and other vehicles. While it is not possible for a person to expedite their sobriety, there are several methods that can enhance their alertness and give the appearance of being more sober. One such solution is the implementation of alcohol detection and engine locking system. When a dri ver attempts to operate the vehicle while heavily intoxicated, the MQ3/BAC sensor detects the presence of alcohol. If the alcohol concentration exceeds a certain threshold, a signal is transmitted to the arduino uno. Based on this signal, the engine will be deactivated. This measure has the potential to decrease the occurrence of accidents caused by driving under the influence of alcohol, hence minimizing the risk of fatalities and property damage resulting from drunk driving. In this article a comprehensive study is carried out on various alcohol detection and engine locking systems using arduino. The various components used in each of the systems are analyzed.

In this communication, several modules are presented to carry out practices with a microcontroller, initially with the PIC16F88, which was later conditioned to be used by the ATMeg328 on the arduino uno platform. Finally, a new module is presented with the ATMega328, but on the arduino NANO platform. The practice modules consist of a printed circuit board where the necessary components are incorporated to carry out the practices planned with this device in the Digital Electronics subject. In this way, time is saved in assembly and security is gained in operation, so that the student can focus on the programming and operation of the device. These boards have been used for several years with numerous students and have worked perfectly.

Electrochemical sensing of dopamine using nanostructured silver chromate: Development of an IoT-integrated sensor

Dopamine, one of the most important neurotransmitters, plays a crucial role in the functions of human metabolism, as well as the cardiovascular, central nervous and hormonal systems. This study focuses on the synthesis of nanostructured silver chromate and their application in dopamine sensing. The nanoparticles were synthesized using a complexation-mediated route using aminosalicylic acid as a stabilizer, resulting in uniform particles ranging from 3 to 15 nm in size. The synthesized silver chromate was characterized using X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy techniques. Electrochemical studies revealed that the silver chromate exhibit excellent catalytic activity for the detection of dopamine. The electroanalysis provided the selective recognition of dopamine with the limit of detection of 1.05 mu M and sensitivity of 2.68 mu A mu M- 1 cm- 2 in a linear range of 5-45 mu M. Additionally, a portable, IoT (internet of things)-integrated sensor based on the synthesized silver chromate was developed using arduino uno R4 Wi-Fi module, enabling real-time monitoring of dopamine with data transmission to a cloud platform.
