Vision is an important aspect of brain functionality as it allows us to view our surroundings, and maintain the incisiveness of our mind. For a blind person, to walk without resistance, is the most difficult task. Visually impaired are compelled to depend on others for conducting daily activities, especially walk outdoor. As a humanitarian service, our paper aims to help the blind people to walk independently and enjoy the freedom of walking. The model we present here act as a virtual eye to the visually disabled persons, which helps them to navigate to their destinations without the help of others. This model uses a mobile app, concurrent with the lately developed system using the fundamental principles of arduino uno board is based on ATmega328 microcontroller. This module is appended to a walking stick so that it is manageable by a blind person. The sensor in the apparatus returns the span warns with a sound alert if any target can be deleterious to the blind person. The system brings a new domain, Internet of Things (IoT), to the fore of the blind people, to make their existence uncomplicated.

This paper presents a mathematical model for heart attack detection and alert system based on a list of factors using Internet of Things (IoT) devices namely, sensors, arduino uno board and GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications)module. This robust mathematical model helps in preventing a patient from getting sudden heart attack by sending anotification on their mobile in the form of message or email. This paper gives a brief study about the parameters on which heart attack depends and the values that are recommended by a doctor for a healthy body. The comparative analysis with the existing technique indicates that the proposed algorithm outperforms in terms of accurate detection of heart attack in human beings. Results obtained show that the proposed algorithm is competent enough yielding an accuracy of 82%.

Aquaculture is the farming of aquatic organism in natural or controlled marine or freshwater environments. The real-time monitoring of environmental parameters are very important for both shrimp aquaculture and paddy farming. Here, an electronic system is proposed for the efficient monitoring and effective control of different environmental parameters related to the paddy field and shrimp aquaculture. The proposed system is implemented as an embedded system to monitor and control the important environmental parameters with the help of sensors and actuators. A set of different types of sensors are placed in the cultivation field and each of them are connected to a common microcontroller board built on an arduino uno board. The micro-controller will monitor the sensor values and these real-time values are shared to a data logging system implemented on a Raspberry Pi based single board computer. The real-time sensor values can be logged into the SD card of the Raspberry Pi. The actuators such as pump and aerator will be turned on and off automatically by the Raspberry Pi in accordance with the threshold values of different environmental parameters. Moreover, the farmer is also given a facility to control the pumps and aerators through a latest trend in embedded system technology called the Internet of Things(IoT). The farmers can use a social media open-source Android app called Telegram for monitoring and controlling the system. Also, the real-time temperature and humidity values from the sensors are validated by using the information collected from a weather forecasting website. If any abnormality in the environmental parameters are observed, the system will notify the farmer by generating alert SMSs through a web-service application called Twilio. The installation of such a system in the paddy field will definitely help the farmers to increase the yield in a better environmental condition.

Variable-step incremental conductance (***.) technique, for photovoltaic (PV) maximum power point tracking, has merits of good tracking accuracy and fast convergence speed. Yet, it lacks simplicity in its implementation due to the mathematical division computations involved in its algorithm structure. Furthermore, the conventional variable step-size, based on the division of the PV module power change by the PV voltage change, encounters steady-state power oscillations and dynamic problems especially under sudden environmental changes. In this study, an enhancement is introduced to ***. algorithm in order to entirely eliminate the division calculations involved in its structure. Hence, algorithm implementation complexity is minimised enabling the utilisation of low-cost microcontrollers to cut down system cost. Moreover, the required real processing time is reduced, thus sampling rate can be improved to fasten system response during sudden changes. Regarding the applied step-size, a modified variable-step size, which depends solely on PV power, is proposed. The latter achieves enhanced transient performance with minimal steady-state power oscillations around the MPP even under partial shading. For proposed technique's validation, simulation work is carried out and an experimental set up is implemented in which arduino uno board, based on low-cost Atmega328 microcontroller, is employed.

This paper deals with a low-cost system for temperature monitoring based on an arduino uno board. This is a graphical user interface (GUI) based system that allow users to set monitoring parameters, to read temperature value from sensor, to acquire data and to display certain important parameters. Moreover, the system send a warning message when the temperature exceeds a threshold, established by the user. Some experimental results are carried out to reveal the performance of the proposed system.
