Intelligent testing for arduino uno based on thermal image

The goal of this paper is to develop a tool that will aid manufacturers of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) in testing their production lines with an acceptable rate of fault detection and minimize the test time. The PCB unit, namely the arduino uno board, is used to generate the thermal profile for the unit under test. This work is based on using a classification approach that classifies the PCB defects into the Integrated Circuit (IC) level. In the proposed technique, histogram features are extracted from the ICs hotspots which are used as inputs into a classifier model. The number of effective features are minimized by the principal component analysis. The image classification and detection are performed based on three soft computing techniques;multilayer perceptron, support vector machine, and adaptive neuron-fuzzy inference system. The effectiveness of the models is evaluated by comparing their performance and accuracy of classification. (C) 2017 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

Application of lithium tantalate (LiTaO₃) films as light sensor to monitor the light status in the arduino uno based energy-saving automatic light prototype and passive infrared sensor

Growth of LiTaO3 film on a type-p silicon substrate (100) was conducted using the Chemical Solution Deposition (CSD) and spin coating methods at a speed of 3000rpm for 30 seconds. The film on the substrate was then heated at 850(o)C for 15hours. The resulting film was then characterized for its sensitivity value. The film was utilized as a light sensor to read changes in light intensity to monitor lighting status in an arduino uno-based energy-saving automatic light prototype. Previously, the output of the film in the form of an electrical voltage was strengthened using a voltage amplifying circuit (OP-Amp). The energy-saving automatic light prototype was manufactured in two conditions, an automatic condition (with assistance from an infrared passive sensor and real time clock) and a manual condition (with assistance from a GSM to control the lighting and LiTaO3 film as a light sensor to monitor the lighting status). In the automatic condition, the assessment of the infrared passive sensor's sensitivity was conducted at distances of 0m, 0.5m, 1m, 1.5m, 2m, 2.5m, and 3m at angles of 0(0), 30(0), 45(0) and 60(0) (the source of motion was human movements). The real time clock was used to regulate the infrared passive sensor activation time (7 a.m to 5 p.m Western Indonesia Time). In the manual condition, when entering manual time (outside the 7 a.m to 5 p.m Western Indonesia Time range), to be exact, the GSM would send a message containing the duration of the lighting usage and the cost of the lighting usage. Activation of the lighting was conducted by replying to the message with the code #1 to turn on the lighting and #0 to turn it off.

Design of arduino uno Electronic Module for Digital Measurement of Rotational Speed in Agricultural Machinery Actuator Systems

Many agricultural machines and equipment and their components depend on rotatory power. Measuring the rotational speed and properly controlling the rotating parts are necessary for enhanced machine operation. A module that is capable of accurately measuring the number and rate of revolutions of rotating parts of machines is an important instrument. This paper describes the design, assembly, and deployment of an arduino digital speed meter. It is an excellent mechatronics instructional project for undergraduate students, and its application as an efficient and cost-effective method to measure rotational speed on agriculture machinery which provides the engineering student with experience in all stages of system development. This meter is a system-on-electronic-module (SOEM), and due to its simplicity and low development cost, it is an economical and easily deployed computerized unit. The basic circuit of the arduino digital speed meter consists of an arduino uno board, an optical infrared accelerometer (IR) sensor based on the return of projected infrared light from the rotating part of the machine, and a digital display to show the speed of the rotating part in revolutions per minute (rpm). An experiment utilizing these components to evaluate the rotational speed of the PTO shaft provided highly accurate measurement results comparable to the accuracy of a commercial digital Tachometer. The average differential between the project developed module and a commercially available tachometer was only 4.47%. Considering the cost differential these results are very commendable. This innovative module is a cost-effective solution for hands-on instruction in mechanism design and development;it is a practical application for rapid on-site evaluation systems, while offering a simple economical method to measure agricultural power output.

This article presents a novel five-level transformer-based inverter with inherent boosting abilities specially designed for photovoltaic applications. The key distinction of this proposed inverter lies in its three-leg configuration and a single transformer with an increasing output voltage of twice the input voltage, which results in a smaller size, more cost-effective and less complex inverter circuit. Additionally, this innovative design features fewer components, lower total voltage requirements, reduced voltage rate of change (dv/dt), and a decreased number of active devices compared to its counterparts. The article provides a comprehensive explanation of the circuit's operation and principles. It underscores the utilization of arduino programming to generate the required control pulses for this five-level inverter. Finally, simulation results are included to validate the feasibility and performance of the proposed inverter, both in steady-state and dynamic operating conditions. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents designing and implementing an Automatic room temperature control system using the arduino and DHT11 sensor. The fan speed control system has also been proposed. Here, the user sets the minimum and the maximum reference temperature range from the keypad. The DHT11 sensor senses the surrounding room temperature and gives the result in degrees Celsius. Both the reference and the measured values are displayed on the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). The arduino microcontroller, being the processing unit of the system, gets the sensor's measured value and compares it with the set threshold. The results are: when the measured room temperature is less than the minimum of the threshold value;then, the microcontroller turns on the heater. If the measured room temperature is greater than the maximum threshold value, then the fan triggered on. The speed of the fan will be controlled by the pulse width modulation (PWM) technique based upon the temperature difference between the sensor reading and the maximum threshold. The larger the temperature difference, the larger the fan's duty cycles, and the faster its speed. Finally, if the room's measured temperature is between the setpoint range, all the loads are turned off. That means the room temperature is maintained normal.

Most of the activities carried out all day are done outside the home. This condition happens in every major city. Therefore, it is ascertained that the occupants must leave many empty houses for working hours or special moments. These empty houses were targeted by thieves, especially those without a flawed security system. We proposed a smart door lock prototype that protects the home from strangers. We make an automatic house locking device using FPM10A Fingerprint components, HC-SR501 PIR Sensor, arduino uno, and Solenoid Door lock. A Telegram application will be added, connected through the arduino IDE software, which functions to notify when the door of the house/room is open.

Persistent increase in population of world is demanding more and more supply of food. Hence there is a significant need of advancement in cultivation to meet up the future food needs. It is important to know moisture levels in soil to maximize the output. But most of farmers cannot afford high cost devices to measure soil moisture. Our research work in this paper focuses on home-made low cost moisture sensor with accuracy. In this paper we present a method to manufacture soil moisture sensor to estimate moisture content in soil hence by providing information about required water supply for good cultivation. This sensor is tested with several samples of soil and able to meet considerable accuracy. Measuring soil moisture is an effective way to determine condition of soil and get information about the quantity of water that need to be supplied for cultivation. Two separate methods are illustrated in this paper to determine soil moisture over an area and along the depth.

Indonesia is one of the many countries with one of the most frequent earthquakes. Generally, in Indonesia earthquake damage level measurement is conduct by direct observation. However, the vibration intensity level of an earthquake could result in different levels of damage. Hence, a damage intensity scaling system plays important roles as measuring damage impact caused by an earthquake. Therefore, in this paper we proposes a design and development of a low-cost damage intensity scaling system based on microcontroller and microcomputer. The proposed idea is to record the damage level intensity data, distribute a valid data, and send an early warning if the earthquake damages is severe. This system hardware design utilizing MPU6050 Accelerometer sensor and a potentiometer as a vibration detector. This system use Telegram API and MQTT protocol to send sensors data to end user. The results of the experiment shows that our system has an average 3.17% of difference with the more sophisticated system owned by Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of Republic Indonesia.

This paper presents and implements an unauthorized object detector using ultrasonic waves. Ultrasonic refers to the waves with frequencies over 20 kHz. It is insensitive to human ears having audible perception range of 20 to 20 kHz. Thus, ultrasonic waves are useful for distance measurement in driverless cars. The distance can be measured by using two techniques;pulse echo and phase measurement methods. In this work, pulse echo method is considered where the target is detected via 'non-contact' technology. The Ultrasonic Module keeps monitoring and checks the echo reflected back by the entity to display the exact angle and distance on the screen. The novelty of this work is the development of an alert system that not only detects the target but also measures and displays its exact distance. PROTEUS software has been used for simulation. Hardware is also developed and tested to detect any entity in the prescribed range.
