Machine learning is one important aspect of automation. The research on automation raises a fundamental question: Can machines learn to act & behave like humans? Safe & efficient robot-human interaction - known as 'collaborative robotics' or 'cobotics'- has the power to transform production & assembly lines. The probability of industrial mishaps involving robots (like that in SKH metals, Manesar, August 2015) has increased with time. Companies using robots have burgeoned more safety programmes but they have some drawbacks. A real-time, MEMS sensor (PZT material) based, economical approach is proposed ensuring the safety in robotic workspace by shutting the robot system off or slowing it down upon human entry. During operation if a fault is detected at the robotic arm, the cabin operator is informed through the Human Machine Interface (HMI). The arduino trips the robot when the operator steps on the piezoelectric mat (Doormat) while entering the workspace. The conventional safety switch can be bypassed since it is manual & sometimes problematic where fast response troubleshooting action is required but our proposed design has relatively less failure rate than traditional one. The unification of arduino uno & Relay, based on 'OR' logic protects the personnel from any unexpected robotic behaviour even when he fails to trigger the safety switch. The status of the robotic arm can be monitored distantly by IOT integration. It is programmed with a calculated threshold value of the foot pressure corresponding to 60 Kg of body mass for the circuit tripping to avoid false triggering. As this operation is part of a process plant, operators can increase the speed of other similar processes in the unit to compensate for the loss of production.

Sensor network has taken the focus significantly on their vast of the practical purposes study as individual sensors and their related networks for engineering structural as well as a high efficiency monitoring. The sensor network was designed to respond to emergencies in the real-time as the radiological field observed. An intelligent system-based sensor network is presented and used to monitor the health of remote oil wells, in which it compromises of three sensors used for data sensing in oil field, including a temperature sensor, a pressure sensor, and a gas sensor. The intelligent micro-processor sensors are engineered generally for an oil well's data processing, crucial fault alarm or signal, traditional data storage or signal, data/status connection. The smart microcontroller (arduino uno) was connected to a global mobile communication system (GSM), for the monitoring of information processes, a malfunctioning sensor or a power management indication and the malfunctioning message would be sent to the maintenance team if any purpose required.

A smart home/house is an advanced, automated home. In other words it is a home that constitutes advanced automation systems to provide the occupants with sophisticated monitoring and controlling over the different functions of the building. By applying smart home technology we can enjoy comfort, can save energy and can make better security. In this paper a study on different types of home automation control has done and then less expensive and better efficient system has been proposed. The proposed smart home system which we are going to discuss consists of arduino uno micro-controller. The controllers are capable of monitoring and controlling different appliances in the home automatically in response to the signals comes from the related sensors. The proposed system is able to monitor and control lights, room temperature, alarms and other household appliances. A hardware implementation with MATLAB-GUI platform for the proposed system is carried out to support the usefulness of the proposed technique and the reliability of the system is introduced. The proposed system is a cost effective, flexible and simple model.

New innovations and the latest technology has brought about revolutionary changes in the branch of medical science enabling us to be more enthusiastic about health monitoring system. As people are more prone to cardiovascular diseases now-a-days, innovative heart rate monitoring system has now been getting popular. But only monitoring system is not enough in case of emergency need of medication and treatment. During cardiac arrest cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) should be administered by a trained person. For this reason a message is needed to be sent to an authorized person or a doctor. This paper focuses on measuring heart rate with arduino and sensor using noninvasive method with sending an emergency and urgent message via Global System for Mobile (GSM) communication module and radio frequency (RF) module, and a comparison between the two modules is made with respect of speed, reliability and cost.

Recent advancements in technology have provided solutions to the communication of deaf and mute individuals. In this paper, the main objective is to provide easiness of communication and to implement an automatic speaking system for deaf and mute people. Communication is one of the most vital behaviors of a human. Every living being has its way of communication. What would it be like if humans could not talk or listen! The primary purpose of this project is to help people who cannot speak or hear. Since many of us cannot understand sign language, it will help people with disabilities to communicate with us and enable them to share everything. It will play an essential role in healthcare and education. This research study utilizes wearable gloves so that anyone can afford this easily. Four flex sensors, an accelerometer, a speaker module, gloves, an arduino uno, an LCD screen, a GSM 800L module, and lithium-ion rechargeable battery are used to develop an intelligent sign language recognition system for dumb people. Three rechargeable batteries were used to charge arduino uno, GSM, and speaker module. The sensor converts the detected execution load into a voltage and the arduino uno microcontroller detects this voltage. Finally, the detected signs are displayed on the LCD to display and pronounced verbally by the speaker.

In this paper, a developed system using an android-based mobile application to replace the conventional remote controllers of air conditioning units. This android mobile device will be used as a controller to switch the power of the air conditioning (AC) units and an accurate time power consumption monitoring for each AC unit. The study uses Android Studio for the android programming development and a NodeMCU ESP8266-12E microcontroller board to establish the network connectivity between the circuitry and the android mobile phone. The system used the arduino uno board to read the voltage sensor (ZMPT101B) shield and current sensor (SCT-013-030)'s data. After conducting the sensors' testing and calibrations, results showed significant accuracy of 96.95%. The power ON command for the AC units from the android mobile phone has an accuracy rate of 99.91% and 99.85% from that of the power OFF command. Power consumption calculation, on the other hand, has 91.09% accuracy.

Irrigation in arid regions and during periods of inadequate rainfall is essential for the growth of agricultural crops. The irrigation process entails supplying water to agricultural areas in a meticulously calculated manner. This ensures that the soil receives an appropriate amount of water to maintain the necessary moisture content for optimal plant growth. Most irrigation in tree fruit orchards is traditionally applied based on the grower's experience or simple observations, which may result in either over- or under-irrigation. Smart irrigation technology operates on the basis of an automated scheduling program and an automatic electronic operating system that utilizes sensors to determine the water needs of cultivated plants based on agricultural seasons and crop types. The objective of this paper was to develop an advanced system for managing and supervising irrigation processes, utilizing fuzzy logic and wireless sensor networks (WSN). The comprehensive control of the proposed system was achieved through the integration of arduino uno. This system aims to determine the optimal timing for irrigation and the precise watering dosage that will enhance optimal crop response while ensuring judicious use of resources. The system also enables the display of results using an Android application.

This research study presents the design and implementation of a Metal Detector Robot equipped with a bomb detection capability, utilizing various technologies including the arduino development board, GSM, GPS, driver circuits, an alarm system, motors, and a metal detector. The primary objective of this project is to create a robot capable of detecting and neutralizing explosive devices, enhancing security and operational safety, particularly in military applications. The Metal Detector Robot leverages an Android-based smartphone to scan spaces for metal objects, including landmines, thus mitigating the risks associated with manual detection methods. The robot system incorporates a metal detector that employs coil induction to identify metal presence, displaying detection rates on an LCD interface. Controlled by an arduino uno, the robot is powered by a DC motor and emits both an audible buzzer and visual display on the LCD screen upon metal detection. Testing results indicate that the robot can be effectively controlled via an Android smartphone, ensuring efficient and precise metal detection in designated areas. This innovative approach significantly enhances security measures by providing a reliable tool for bomb detection and neutralization, reducing the potential for harm or fatalities associated with traditional landmine sweeping methods.

Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is a label-free method of molecular detection of particular interest for biomedical applications. We aim to create a hand-held, easy to use EIS measurement device, for biomolecular detection. Electrochemical cyclic voltammetry systems help millions of diabetics monitor their blood glucose levels 2-8 times per day, but their use is very limited due to the poor lower limit of detection. The EIS technique can be used to detect a much larger array of biomolecules at very low concentration. Our EIS system generates the magnitude and phase of the impedance from test samples via MATLAB, which provides the real and imaginary components of the impedance. The circuit was integrated on a single chip and fabricated in a standard 0.5 mu m CMOS technology. A hand-held EIS measurement system was built using the chip and an arduino uno to measure a Randles circuit equivalent over the frequency range from 1 Hz to 2 kHz, the measurement and simulation results show excellent agreement.

The misplacement of books in libraries often results in wasted time when searching for a specific book on the wrong shelf. To address this issue, we created a novel, low-cost prototype Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) equipped with a camera and Wi-Fi modules. The UGV wirelessly sends data to a local server, which uses image processing to determine the location of the book. A web user interface was created to enable users to easily locate the exact shelf of the desired book. This solution has not been previously explored and was tested in our Institute's library. The adoption of UGVs greatly improved the overall user experience, transforming the manual and time-consuming process of book-finding into an automated and time-saving operation.
