PID controllers are a fundamental building block of industrial control systems. In this paper we present a simple demonstrator that can be assembled using basic electronic components and an arduino uno development board as plant and digital controller, respectively. The complete system can be easily built using components that are often available in a basic electronic lab, avoiding mechanical or electromechanical systems. The proposed system is open and flexible, allowing the study of digital PID control systems and the experimental evaluation of different tuning methods.

The paper given below is the introduction of a new system on railway crossings. The following alarming system is to make people aware of the presence of the locomotive nearby and would warn them to clear the crossings before the locomotive to cross the track so as to reduce the number of accidents. The use of traffic lights as well as sensors help in the functioning of alarming system introduced. The traffic lights would in turn use conventional source of power that is solar power which will increase the efficiency of the system.

Ordinary household medicine boxes store various medicines for emergencies, but their function is limited to medicine storage. Most elderly people need to take medicines for a long time due to physical reasons, but they often miss or forget to take medicines due to memory decline, decreased vision, and inconvenience, which causes great harm to their health. Based on this, this work has designed a "household intelligent medicine box based on the Internet of Things". The work has the functions of medication time monitoring, medication quantification, medication classification, medication reminder, etc. Based on the results of the SolidWorks mechanical structure modeling, the arduino uno controller is used to control the precise rotation of the MG945 steering gear to control the output of the medicine. The user presses the button and the device automatically delivers the medicine. The work provides health testing services such as heartbeat detection and uses the voice module to remind you to take medicine at the time set by the timer. Also, according to the function of the medicine box, a matching client APP has been developed. By using the HC-05 Bluetooth module for intelligent control of the medicine box, the user can open the APP with a mobile phone, input corresponding instructions to control and insert medicines information. The APP can judge whether the elderly take medicine on time and set the time, type, and quantity of medicine by checking the feedback data of the medicine box. APP records the remaining amount of medicine and the time of taking medicine for the elderly by connecting to the remote database.

This paper presents a holistic view of the concept of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) generally used and implemented for solar applications, so as to maximize the output for a conventional solar panel. This paper comprises of detailed study in the field of MPPT in a simulative environment using MATLAB and the same results are reproduced in hardware using Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm. Improvement in the performance of a conventional solar panel is seen through the simulation in terms of output voltage of the boost converter connected as the main DC-DC converter device. This is performed by changing the irradiance to the solar panel. The waveforms of current, voltage and thus the output power show its maximized value. The hardware results include the change in duty cycle with change in irradiance and thus signify the change in output voltage and current for a flyback converter controlled by the MPPT algorithm.

Blood pressure (BP) is a vital signal to determine fitness of the patient. Existing BP tracking systems are either mechanically intrusive or intravenous. Consequently, they cannot be used for long period causing uneasiness, soreness and discomfort. the right strategy to that is the cuff less technique to estimate BP. This paper accommodates literature evaluation about present blood pressure monitoring, photoplethysmogram (PPG) and numerous techniques that involves PPG for BP estimation. This paper compares diverse tourniquet-less techniques used to estimate BP with the assist of ECG and PPG or only PPG. This includes Pulse Wave velocity (PWV), Pulse Transit Time (PTT), Pulse Wave evaluation (PWA), etc. Primary purpose of this paper is choice of the method for implementation. It also includes the schematic of the proposed system for implementation.

Home surveillance system is becoming one of the key factors of the home security systems. A fully remotely controlled surveillance of home is going to be the future. Everyone is worried about the security of the home when they are not at home;also they want to be sure that the children or old ones are safe. This paper presents a novel solution that makes the surveillance of home from anywhere with the help of internet. Remote home surveillance with the help of internet, mobile robot and an IP camera is presented. The utilization of various available apps on internet has been done. Using the Team Viewer, arduino uno, RF transmitters, PC, IP camera a unique way for the home surveillance system has been realized.

The significant decrease in agricultural land and the rapid development of hydroponic system technology such as Nutrient Film Technique (NFT), have brought huge challenge to farmers. This hydroponic system requires special attention to several parameters such as the water temperature, water level, acidity (pH), and the concentration of the nutrient (EC/PPM). We first monitor and collect information from NFT Hydroponic farmer and then systematically evaluate and analyze them. Unfortunately, it is still controlled by using the conventional way (human), for example in controlling the concentrations of nutrient has to be done at least once a day, so much time is wasted. In addressing these issues, we need a system that can be applied and used easily. We built a hydroponic monitoring and automation system that can monitored using sensors connected to the arduino uno microcontrollerm, Wi-Fi module ESP8266 and Raspberry Pi 2 Model B microcomputers as the webserver with the concept Internet of Things, in which each block hydroponic farming can communicate with the webserver (broker). Web used as the interface of the system that allows user to monitor and control the NFT hydroponic farming. The NFT hydroponic web interface management systems using a responsive web framework, such as Bootstrap for the front-end, JQuery and JavaScript libraries. The result shows that this system helps farmers to increase the effectivity and efficiency on monitoring and controlling NFT Hydroponic Farm.

Water is a very important resource for all the living things on earth. Plants, animals and human beings essentially require water for their survival. It is very important to control biological, physical and chemical contamination of the water which can be overseen by monitoring the water quality. The information collected regarding the contamination levels of the water body indicates the water quality of the water body which can be assessed to meet the quality standards for various uses and this leads to take necessary steps to restore and protect the quality and health of the water body. Moreover monitoring the water quality can help in detection of the water pollution and toxic chemicals discharged in the water which leads to contamination of the water. In water quality monitoring systems characteristic parameters collected are temperature, pH and turbidity of the water from the water bodies. The Farmers can use the data and find the place which is best suitable for agriculture, based on water sources. The government can also use the data for finding the purity of water bodies and ground water. The existing methods for detecting contamination levels are very tedious and in some cases the sample has to be taken to the lab for analysing. Some methods are not cost effective and cannot be used by all.

Today, the humans are completely dependent on technology and are struggling hard to make it more advanced. People have made their life more complex and busy. In their busy schedule they don't bother for their health. Hence, we have developed a project titled "Smart Health Band". The purpose of this project is to autonomously monitor the health of the person. This health band can sense body temperature and pulse rate of a person. Upon sensing the temperature and pulse rate, the data is to be sent to a cloud named "Thingspeak". Here, a graph displays the sensed temperature and pulse rate. This data is then fetched on a mobile application. Hence, user can see the pulse rate and body temperature by using the application. In critical condition, if the pulse rate drastically increases/decreases above or below the threshold value, then a notification will be sent to the doctor. Smart Health Band is constructed with the help of arduino uno, pulse sensor, LilyPad temperature sensor, Wi-Fi module, batteries and Velcro Tape to be mounted on. This project intends to decrease the death rates which occur due to the heart attack or heart related issues.

This paper proposes a method to design an Electronic Hand Glove which would help deaf and blind people to communicate easily. There are around 285 million visually impaired people in the world and 900,000 deaf and mutes. They use sign language to communicate with others. But it's very difficult to use and understand this sign language as it contains approximately 6000 gestures. The model uses 26 gestures of hand to communicate alphabets and 10 more gestures to communicate numbers. This would help the deaf person to communicate with others by typing text on LCD screen through hand gestures. The text is converted into speech so that the blind person could hear and communicate.
