Healthcare has become one of the principal issue with the rise in human population and medical expenditure. For a healthy life, it is essential to follow human body's vital signals. Continuous Monitoring of patient's vital signals cannot be provided outside hospital. As it is hard to monitor the patient's condition for 24 hours, it was proposed in this paper to observe continuously the condition of patient despite the patient being busy with his routine and to screen the health status to the doctors through Internet of Things. This paper proposes health monitoring system using non-intrusive biomedical sensors that measure five parameters like ECG, heartbeat, respiration, temperature and blood pressure. Proposed method makes use of arduino mega Controller to which non-invasive biomedical sensors are connected. The output is displayed on any digital monitoring system using arduino mega. The data obtained from the sensors is uploaded to the ThingSpeak cloud to store and to access patient's information by their doctors or by the concerned for necessary follow-ups in real-time. IoT is a powerful domain where sensors can connect and data is viewed over the Internet.

The development of remote lab has grown during the last decade. However, almost all current laboratories use proprietary software (a Labview like software) and expensive hardware (server) to implement them. This paper presents the development of a low-cost alternative, flexible, and reconfigurable remote lab, based on an architecture built around an arduino mega. Low-bandwidth connections requirement was carried out by the use of HTML code for the development of the required graphical user interface. The usability and effectiveness of the proposed solutions were evaluated by considering a case study of two groups of students that carried out the same lab work: The first one remotely and the second one in a hands-on lab. This test showed that the remote laboratory was well received by students: Remote students group realize their task in a shorter time and have slightly better outcomes than students group in a hands-on laboratory. An automatic railway track crack detector system for Bangladesh Railway has been proposed here which aims in building a robot that can detect and analyze any kind of crack on the railway line and send the coordinates of that faulty line to the concerned authority. This robot includes two ultrasonic sensors, GPS, GSM modules, and arduino mega based crack detection assembly which is cost effective and robust to facilitate better safety standards in railways. As soon as the robot passed through a crack that might cause the derailment of a train, the ultrasonic sensors sense that and generate a signal. Then this signal is fed into the arduino mega. At that point, with the assistance of GSM and GPS modules, an alert SMS consist of the geographic coordinate of that damaged track is sent to the nearby railway authority who can easily take necessary steps to resolve the problem before any major accident occurs. This will save several trains in Bangladesh from an unwanted discontinuity from the rail track.

The Internet of Things (IOT) has been denoted as a new wave of information and communication technology (ICT) advancements. The IOT is a multidisciplinary concept that encompasses a wide range of several technologies, application domains, device capabilities, and operational strategies, etc. The ongoing IOT research activities are directed towards the definition and design of standards and open architectures which is still have the issues requiring a global consensus before the final deployment. This paper gives over view about IOT technologies and applications related to agriculture with comparison of other survey papers and proposed a novel irrigation management system. Our main objective of this work is to for Farming where various new technologies to yield higher growth of the crops and their water supply. Automated control features with latest electronic technology using microcontroller which turns the pumping motor ON and OFF on detecting the dampness content of the earth and GSM phone line is proposed after measuring the temperature, humidity, and soil moisture.

The design and implementation of an automated liquid observation and controlling method utilizing an affordable liquid flow sensor and the microcontroller are presented here which has the ability to assist the health care provider to control the saline circulation rate using Matrix keypad or Android phone. The arduino mega (2560) platform has been used as controlling unit for providing necessary control along with a 3x4 matrix keypad and Bluetooth module to control the drop per minute manually and by using an android phone. The designed flow sensor will be hooked up to the drip chamber of the saline container to determine the saline flow rate as well as an accurate number of a drop of the saline. The obtained outputs from the sensor are continuously checked with the given command and if any mismatch is found, the microcontroller moves the servo motor to modify the circulation rate to balance with assigned command. The device has been tested after completion of necessary hardware development. The outcome is satisfactory which indicates a possible application in taking care of patient more appropriately.

The work presented in this paper is aimed at the up-gradation of software and hardware modules of a compact pressurized water reactor simulator. This simulator was originally based on programmable data processor (PDP-11/34) computer and it had been facing frequent troubles due to obsolescence and unavailability of spare parts. Furthermore, the FORTRAN based software was difficult to maintain and had a console interface which was old-fashioned and difficult to use. So, these simulator modules needed to be replaced by state of the art ones. We developed Visual C++ based application that uses modified FORTRAN subroutines and has graphical user interface (GUI) for operator panel and instructor terminal. Hardware upgradation includes replacement of PDP-11/34 computer with an Intel Microsoft Windows XP based desktop system and replacement of color CRT monitors and associated display system with LCDs and video graphics array (VGA) cards. Additionally, the dedicated interface card between the computer and operator panel is replaced with an arduino-mega based interface card. The newer modules provide reliable operation thereby assuring continuous availability of the simulator to its users. The C++ based GUI provides far more efficient and easy operations from the instructor terminal. The upgraded simulator is easy to maintain and user friendly that makes it venerable for introducing the fundamental concepts of nuclear power plants to trainees.

Recent research on robots has been trying to develop intelligent robots that can match human behavior on high level intelligent tasks that require sensing, complex motion and intelligence. In the recent few years robot is given some artistic behavior that robot can sing, dance even robot can play games. This paper presents a control method for a robotic arm to let the robot to acquire another human artistic behavior "drawing". In the proposed design MATLAB has been used for image processing interface and trajectory calculation. Value of co-ordinate position of a pixel of binary image is converted into joint angle applying inverse kinematics and servos are controlled with arduino mega. Sobel and Canny are applied for edge detection method and authors showed comparison between the output images after applying Sobel and Canny edge detection method. Image is given input through Matlab GUI, which is user interactive.

Home automation is a famous and most used technology in the world. The object of this paper is to develop a home automation system based on environmental monitoring system, which can be monitored from all over the world. Besides the system will have an individual sun tracking solar panel based power supply technology. The system employs an embedded web server based on arduino mega 2560 microcontroller, with internet protocol connectivity for accessing and controlling electronic appliances remotely. Additionally, the proposed system does not require a dedicated server PC like other available systems and offers a specific communication protocol to monitor and control the home environment with more than just the switching functionality. To demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of this system, devices such as light switches, power plug, temperature sensor, gas sensor, water flow sensor, water level sensor and motion sensors, smart touch-pad control door security have been integrated with the proposed smart home control system.
