COVID19 proved a devastating threat to human society in terms of health, economy, and lifestyle. It quickly spread around the world and caused many governments to close their borders and declare a general quarantine at the national level sending everyone home, with this they changed the lifestyle of many people because they lost the mobility of moving from one place to another. This has led to people somehow losing physical activity and the fear of moving on public roads. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), physical inactivity is the fourth risk factor for global mortality since it generates 3.2 million deaths annually, this is worrying since people do not perform any physical activity. In view of this problem, in this article a blood pressure measurement system was made visualized through a mobile application, in such a way that it can help to observe if they have a stable or high blood pressure, with this, it will be possible to diagnose if a person can present hypertension and prevent them from suffering from any cardiovascular disease. Through the design of the blood pressure measurement system, it was possible to observe that the operation was done correctly, the sensor makes the corresponding measurements and classifies it according to the measurement made, all this is visualized through a mobile application, showing if the person presents a normal or elevated pressure.

As the continued COVID-19 outbreak has brought about an international catastrophe with spreading. Due to the absence of powerful remedial sellers and the lack of immunizations in opposition to the virus, populace vulnerability increases. Therefore, social distancing is a concept to be a good enough precaution in opposition to the pandemic virus. As discussed, this paper present and discuss the ideology of how to provide automated social distancing by measuring the distance between the user and the opposite person and monitoring the temperature of the user, alarming them when social distancing is violated and also if the temperature is raised more than a normal body temperature by using a microcontroller named arduino with ultrasonic sensor and PIR sensor as a detecting medium. To achieve this objective, we have developed a small wrist device that can help users to be safe in public places, crowded areas, etc., and also easier to wear and use as it is like a smartwatch. Detailed processes and work are shown in this paper. © 2022 IEEE.

People who are deaf or dumb can usually communicate using Sign Languages. However, this is not feasible if one of the interlocutors doesn't know Sign Language and hence the ease of communication provided by this language vanishes. In this proposed method we have developed a system that uses flex sensors to recognize hand movements related to alphanumeric signs used in American Sign Language. As a byproduct of our research efforts, we developed a new data set made up of depth images of letters and numbers in American Sign Language, carried out an empirical evaluation. In this paper we have introduced a novel method for predictions regarding the development of a comprehensive system using arduino uno for sign language transcription. © 2022 IEEE.

In today's contemporary, fast-paced and dangerous world, knowing safety precautions is a fundamental necessity when operating a motor vehicle. Furthermore, there is proof of a concerning rise in the quantity of traffic accidents. Many data points to driver fatigue or intoxication as the primary cause of most accidents. When developing the system, the most crucial things to consider are the locations of the cars, the actions of the drivers and the real-time monitoring of every event. In essence, a driver monitoring system uses sensors and cameras to keep an eye on the driver and notify users of any suspicious behaviour, like speeding too much, drinking, staying alert when it's not needed, etc. This is an important way to determine the driver's driving habits so that decisions can be made later. Heartbeat, temperature and eye blink sensors are used in the construction of this system, which monitors the driver's condition and sounds an alert when the monitored values rise above the preset threshold value while the DC motor is set to slowly cease. Developing this system with all available sensors and analytical capabilities is essential to accurately monitor the driving behaviour of the driver. © 2024. Carbon Magics Ltd.

Precision agriculture is crucial for ensuring food security in a growing global population. Nutrients, their presence, concentration, and effectiveness, are key components in data-driven agriculture. Assessing macro and micro-nutrients, as well as factors such as water and pH, helps determine soil fertility, which is vital for supporting healthy plant growth and high crop yields. Insufficient soil nutrient assessment during continuous cropping can threaten long-term agricultural viability. Soil nutrients need to be measured and replenished after each harvest for optimal yield. However, existing soil testing procedures are expensive and time-consuming. The proposed research aims to assess soil nutrient levels, specifically nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations, to provide critical information and guidance on restoring optimal soil fertility. In this research, a novel chip-level colorimeter is fabricated to detect the N and P elements of soil onto a handheld colorimeter or spectrophotometer. Chemical reaction with soil solution generates color in the presence of nutrients, which are then quantitatively measured using sensors. The test samples are collected from various farmlands, and the results are validated with laboratory analysis of samples using spectrophotometers used in laboratories. ANOVA test has been performed in which F value > 1 in our study indicates statistically significant differences between the group means. The alternate hypothesis, which proposes the presence of significant differences between the groups, is supported by the data. The device created in this paper has crucial potential in terms of environmental and biological applications.

This work describes the frequency stabilization of a dual longitudinal mode, red (632.8 nm) He-Ne laser, implemented using an open source low-cost microcontroller (arduino uno) and its performance characterization using a simple interferometric method. Our studies demonstrate that frequency stability up to 0.42 MHz (3r, 17 h) can be achieved using this setup. This simple and low-cost system can serve as an excellent part per billion level fre-quency reference for high-resolution spectroscopy based applications.& COPY;2023 The Author(s). Experimental investigation on controlled cooling by coupling of thermoelectric and an air impinging jet for CPU

In this study, experimental tests have been carried out on the coupling thermoelectric cooling module with minichannel heatsink subjected to impinging airflow for cooling desktop central processing unit (CPU). A controlled thermoelectric-forced test system was designed for this purpose. This was designed using electronic arduino card. The proposed hybrid cooling system was compared with the conventional forced air-cooling technique. Three power of heat source (CPU) were adopted, investigated, and compared, namely 60, 87, and 95 W. Performance of controlled thermoelectric cooling with three preset temperature were experimentally examined. The effects of air velocity and thermoelectric input current on the case temperature (T-case), thermal resistance, and heat transfer coefficient were analyzed. Results showed that theT(case) increases with the increase of its input power. In addition, increasing air jet velocity and thermoelectric input current improve CPU cooling significantly. For a CPU power of 95 W, the recorded T-case temperature was 57 degrees C with the conventional system. While it was maintained below 50 degrees C in the hybrid system. The thermoelectric cooler has had a major effect on CPU cooling, having 15% improvement over conventional forced air-cooling. However, this was accompanied by an increase in energy consumption in the range of 45 W.

In this work, basil plants were fertilized with 0, 2.5 mM and 10 mM nitrogen (with different NO3-/NH(4)(+)ratios), and then monitored using a low-power technique based on an optical leaf meter and a low-cost RGB sensor interfaced with an arduino uno board. The study aimed to investigate possible relationships between the concentration of some plant compounds (i.e., leaf chlorophyll and flavonoids content) and the nitrogen balance index, with the output data of a low-cost RGB sensor to indicate its capability in discriminating among different levels of nutrition. The data obtained underwent univariate and multivariate analysis. The univariate data analysis showed that the low-cost RGB sensor readings followed the development of the plants according to the varying applications of nitrogen. The multivariate analysis of the data showed that the indices related to plant metabolic efficiency and leaf colour were those most affected by the nitrogen levels of the solutions used. The comparison of the discrimination powers of the systems showed that both systems achieved comparable discrimination performances (85.0% and 89.4%) for plants supplied with 0 mM nitrogen solution. However, at increasing levels of nitrogen, the RGB sensor performed worse than the optical leaf meter (- 15.8% and - 8.6% for the 2.5 and 10 mM N treatments). The effect of the NO3-/NH(4)(+)ratio could hardly be distinguished (except for the total chlorophyll resulting from the optical leaf meter readings). More data is, however, necessary to create a more robust model for future implementation of the application of such a sensor.

Temperature transducers are commonly used to monitor process parameters that are controlled by various types of industrial controllers. The purpose of this study is to design and model a simple microcontroller-based acoustic temperature transducer based on the variations of resonance conditions in a cylindrical resonance tube. The transducer's operation is based on the generation of an acoustic standing wave in the free resonance mode of generation within a cylindrical resonance tube which is converted into a train of pulses using Schmitt trigger circuit. The frequency of the generated standing wave (i.e., the train of pulses) is measured by the arduino uno microcontroller, where a digital pin is used to acquire pulses that are counted using a build-in software function in an arduino IDE environment. Experimental results are performed for three sizes of diameters to investigate the effect of the diameter of resonance tube on the obtained results. The maximum nonlinearity error according to Full-Scale Deflection (FSD) is about 2.3 percent, and the relative error of the transducer is evaluated using experimental findings and the regression model. The circuit simplicity and design of the suggested transducer, as well as the linearity of its measurements, are notable.

A pedagogical approach to wavelength division multiplexing measurements using 3D printing and arduino

We have successfully performed wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) measurements using traditional as well as innovative approaches. The results obtained are accurate and precise. Both the approaches add to the conceptual understanding of WDM for the students. The innovative approach allows students to develop the WDM experimental setup at a very low cost by using the arduino Board. It reduces the hardware dependence of the costly instruments like function generators as well as digital storage oscilloscope besides facilitating the carrying out of experiment using RGB LED and single optical fibre. It can be used as a good classroom demonstration to explain this difficult concept. The 3D design and printing of connectors for the RGB LED, and the optical rod has made the system very robust as one can easily couple, multiplex and demultiplex the optical signals. It is to the best of our knowledge that these studies have not been reported earlier. © 2023 IOP Publishing Ltd.
