In metropolitan cities, outdoor air pollution and ambient outdoor noise transmission are significant environmental hazards, degrading indoor environmental quality. Natural ventilation is often a viable option for diluting indoor air pollutants, but transportation noise transmission is a crucial ecological conflict. Therefore, personal control over the concentration of outdoor/indoor air pollutants and noise levels is a significant threshold for natural ventilation availability. This study proposes real-time data detection and notification solutions using sensors and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve indoor air quality and outdoor air quality and outdoor noise transmission. An intelligent real-time detection and notification system was implemented in a distributed computing framework with cloud and edge computing. The objective of this study is placed on three facets: (1) development of sensors and NVIDIA Jetson Nano prototype for air quality and noise level detection, (2) application of machine learning for air quality and noise level prediction and classification, and (3) web interface for real-time monitoring and prediction for air quality and noise level detection. The results showed that the proposed user interface provides building occupants with real-time data of outdoor/indoor Air Quality Index (AQI) and noise levels for the optimized occupant control over Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). The personal control over indoor environmental quality (IEQ) enables occupants to promote natural ventilation behaviors and integrate with the existing building system on optimized IEQ by interacting with AI-based real-time data.

COVID-19's widespread has infected about 3 million world population, and the countries have enforced a complete lock down that has created a severe economic and health crisis. In presence of this pandemic, the educational activity, tutorial courses and laboratory saw a drastic change. In this context, important modifications have been imposed mainly related to the structure, the way of operating, and the operational phase which involve students and teachers. Even more difficult is the implementation of laboratory and experimental activities through remote labs. In this paper we address this latter point, a possible implementation of a remote laboratory through the adoption of a software platform to connect students to the real lab will be presented. The use and the interconnection of TeamViewer software, LabVIEW, MATLAB and arduino, will allow the students, at home, to carry out remote routines, program for conditioning circuit and see remotely the effect of the "virtual" lab implemented at distance. The hardware part is installed in the "real" research laboratory at the university and they can remotely perform measurements, characterizations and test validating the theory through experiments. This approach can be implemented with various experiments, here we will show a study of a DC motor with an analysis of vibrations and transient by using MATLAB for dynamic simulations. LabVIEW for the characterization, arduino for the acquisition/driving, and TeamViewer software has been used to virtually connect the students to the real lab.

Industrialization and urbanization in India have caused heavy environmental pollution. Most of the surface water had been polluted due to the environmental influence. Providing better quality drinking water to public is also a challenge due to pollution in the ground water and contamination even during distribution. Thus, it is very necessary to have adequate methods and equipment for water protection and drinking water quality measurement is an important aspect for the purpose. The protection of public health is an imperative and the potential of millions of severe effects from water contamination is not unrealistic. There is a need of In-situ monitoring, instant collection and calibration of data rather than manual collection of samples and testing. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has paved its significance into various applications. Although manual monitoring of water quality has been done, it requires a lot of labor, time and equipment. So, there is a need to develop a robust and reliable smart system where a real time monitoring of parameters of water quality for different water distribution tanks is done all the while. In this paper, Water Quality Monitoring (WQM) in a predefined Wireless Sensor zone using Zigbee Technology is implemented. Water Quality can be accessed in practical systems through the sensors which send the water quality data to the base station. Now a days, Renewable energy power generation is playing a main role in which Solar power is widely used. Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Controller improves the efficiency of Solar Power System. In this paper, a flexible, reliable Wireless Senor Network (WSN) based method of monitoring the quality of water with maximum power point tracking controlled solar PV system is developed. The waste management is a major problem all over the world. The smart is an innovative automated device for the separate collection of used absorbent hygiene products. The Automatic Intelligence Smart Bin helps to solve waste management problem in smart cities. The smart bin will play a important role in smart cities. The smart lifestyle begins with cleanliness environment within the city which originates with smart bin. The smart bin utilized HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor is used to identify human being and TowerPro SG90 Servo Motor is used to open/close the smart bin lid automatically. The arduino uno microcontroller was used to control the smart bin overall functionality. The smart bin separates dry/wet garbage collection using IoT sensor within the smart bin. The smart bin is full up to 80% then the microcontroller sends warning message to garbage collector automatically. The top of the smart bin solar panel is fixed, which is used to collect energy from sun. The collected energies are stored in the battery bank which is used to operate smart bin automatically. The applications of smart bins are shopping malls, Colleges/University campus, Railway stations, Tourist areas, Parks etc.

All over the world, it is quite difficult to do the desalination of sea water. Alongside it is very tough to do cultivation and manage daily needs in a coastal area due to lack of distilled water. And the traditional desalination processes are very costly and time consuming at the same time. So, in this project a solar-desalination process is proposed that desalinate sea water with a very low cost and effort. Besides that human civilization is now pushed forward to a new era where every bulk automated structure is getting compact through the use of microcontroller. This incited us to design a microcontroller based solar-desalination system, which is powered by solar energy. The proposed model of sea water desalination for coastal area uses concentrated sunlight through Fresnel Lens as the main factor together with a solar panel. And the whole process of sea water collection to desalination of the water is controlled via an arduino uno.

Clean Pakistan is a government campaign to keep the nationwide environment of the country clean. According to higher education commission (HEC) Pakistan report of 2014-2015, total number of students in universities was 1,295,178. Growing number of students in universities of Pakistan also create lots of garbage in universities. In result, the waste collection and garbage management in universities are a crucial issue to be concerned by the universities administrator. The major need of a managed and healthy university campus environment begins with cleanliness of classes, corridors offices and parks of campus and we can achieve this with the efficient management of garbage baskets of campus. A university campus waste will have managed more efficiently only if the garbage baskets are placed throughout the campus and collected well. The major issue in the traditional waste management system in most of the university campuses is the unhealthy and overflowing status. A solution is proposed to upgrade minor and important component of the university waste management system in this paper, which is garbage basket and its management. The basic idea of this project is to connect each garbage basket by using internet of things (IoT) protocol with main sweeper monitoring room for showing status of each basket and notify wirelessly.

A wearable device is a technology that is worn on the human body. With the miniaturized and low power sensor technologies, it can be used in wearables for receiving and transmitting information about health care and their surroundings. This paper aims at designing a complete RF transceiver system at 2.4GHz for communication health parameters with the designed rectangular patch antenna. The signals are sensed by the wearable device which is mounted on the patient to be monitored;these signals are the input data of health parameters like temperature/heart rate. The sensors along with the transmitter section are clipped onto the patient and the health parameters are collected. The observed data is processed using arduino uno microcontroller and transmitted with the help of the RF module through the transmitting antenna. On the receiving section the data is collected through the receiving antenna connected to RF module and processed for further analysis of health parameters. A wearable antenna is designed for transmitting and receiving signals at 2.4GHz. A rectangular patch antenna is designed with slots to enhance directivity and good impedance matching with the other RF circuits. The antenna is simulated using Ansys HFSS v19, fabricated and tested which gives a VSWR of 1.5 and Return loss of -*** gain of the antenna is 5.2dB. Further the collected data is visualized and can be analyzed by the supervisor by logging onto the webpage and accessing the health parameters.

IoT plays a vital role in critical patient care remote monitoring anywhere around the globe. Cardiac patients in remote areas in specific aged patients have to visit physician for diagnosing their health state regularly. In our proposed system critical cardiac patient heath was diagnosed using electrical bioimpedance technique and the same diagnosed impedance cardiograph signal was make available in live to the physician through IoT. Before designing hardware, simulation circuits are designed to obtain the required specifications in order to avoid hardware damage during testing.

Chicken breeders are a type of work that is already familiar to Indonesian people and many chicken farmers still use manual methods to feed chickens and maintain the temperature of chicken coops. Because of that, the role of technology is needed for automatic feeding and monitoring the temperature of the cage so that chicken production reaches its maximum. This study aims to design a monitoring system for the temperature of the cage and chicken feeder automatically using a microcontroller. In this prototype, the feeding process uses DS3231 RTC module and motor servo, for monitoring the temperature of the chicken coops uses DHT22 sensor with lamp as indicator, and arduino uno as a microcontroller. Feeding is carried out based on a predetermined time that is morning at 08.00, afternoon at 13.00 and evening at 18.30. In the temperature control system, the temperature is less than 24 degrees C, the lamp will automatically turn on to match the temperature required by poultry, and if the temperature is more than 32 degrees C, the lamp will automatically turn off. The results of this study are able to monitor the feeding process and temperature of the cage in chicken farmers automatically.
