Reinforcement Learning - RL is an important agent problem that was not approached using the tools provided by Agent oriented programming - AOP. AgentSpeak(L) and its Jason implementation based on Java platform are representing state-of-the-art approaches of AOP based on the Belief-Desire-Intention - BDI model. Temporal Difference Learning - TDL is a passive RL method that can be used by an agent to learn its utility function while it is acting according to a given policy in an uncertain and dynamic environment. In this paper we present an approach for modeling and implementation of TDL using the Jason AOP language. So, our paper is presenting a contribution towards narrowing the gap between RL and AOP, by endowing BDI agents with TDL skills.

The number of smartphones running on Android platform increased dramatically in the past few years, contributing to an explosion in the number of applications. These applications are increasing in the number, size and becoming more complex requiring sophisticated software engineering techniques such as aspect-oriented programming (AOP) and Component-Based Development which are highly explored in desktop environments but have not been much investigated in this platform. In the literature, few studies have been conducted in order to show their feasibility in real case scenarios. In Android platform, there are limitations in memory and processing power that can limit the use of these software engineering techniques. This paper explores Android platform in an approach that uses these sophisticated techniques to modularize crosscutting concerns and build a Software Product Line, analyzing the impacts on performance and memory consumption in a real case study.

Although security patterns contain security expert knowledge to support software developers, these patterns may be inappropriately applied because most developers are not security specialists, leading to threats and vulnerabilities. Here we propose a validation method for security design patterns in the implementation phase of software development. Our method creates a test template from a security design pattern, which consists of the "aspect test template" to observe the internal processing and the "test case template". Providing design information creates a test from the test template. Because a test template is recyclable, it can create easily a test, which can validate the security design patterns. As a case study, we applied our method to a web system. The result shows that our method can test repetition in the early stage of implementation, verify pattern applications, and assess whether vulnerabilities are resolved.

This paper presents a novel reverse engineering technique for obtaining real-life event logs from distributed systems. This allows us to analyze the operational processes of software systems under real-life conditions, and use process mining techniques to obtain precise and formal models. Hence, the work can be positioned in-between reverse engineering and process mining. We present a formal definition, implementation and an instrumentation strategy based the joinpoint-pointcut model. Two case studies are used to evaluate our approach. These concrete examples demonstrate the feasibility and usefulness of our approach.

Program slicing has numerous applications in software engineering activities like debugging, testing, maintenance, model checking etc. The main objective of this paper is to automate the generation of System Dependency Graphs (SDG) for aspect-oriented programs to efficiently compute accurate slices. The construction of SDG is automated by analysing the bytecode of aspect-oriented programs that incorporates the representation of aspect-oriented features. After constructing the SDG, we propose a slicing algorithm that uses the intermediate graph and computes slices for a given AOP. To implement our proposed slicing technique, we have developed a prototype tool that takes an AOP as input and compute its slices using our proposed slicing algorithm. To evaluate our proposed technique, we have considered some case studies by taking open source projects. The comparative study of our proposed slicing algorithm with some existing algorithms show that our approach is an efficient and scalable approach of slicing for different applications with respect to aspect-oriented programs.

The paper is a summary of already published results on the aspect. NET project, our aspect-oriented programming toolkit for the. NET platform. The latest of our results up to now have been only discovered in Russian journals, so the primary goal of the paper is to widen the scope of publicizing our results. The paper overviews goals, key ideas and history of the aspect. NET project and its use in our research on refactoring cloud applications for Microsoft Azure. The Enterprise Library Integration Pack for Microsoft Azure is a solution by Microsoft to separate cross-cutting concerns in developing cloud applications. Using this library implies modification of the target application's source code. In practice, there appear situations when updating the sources is undesirable or impossible, since they can just be confidential. The paper presents a method of seamless integration of aspects and the target application using the aspect. NET toolkit which allows the developers to avoid changing the source code of the target application when weaving aspects.

This paper discusses a generative programming technique based on attribute-oriented programming (source code annotations) and aspect-oriented programming. We propose an annotation-based generator framework that combines these two techniques to provide a rapid and easy-to-use implementation options for annotation-based generators. The framework is inspired by internals of the industrial rapid application development tool Spring Roo. We discuss how the technique used in Spring Roo can be enhanced using Convention over Configuration principle. The paper briefly presents the generator framework prototype - AnBaG. We conclude with a discussion that compares the Spring Roo generation with AnBaG.

Enterprise Information Systems maintain data with respect to various business processes. These processes consist of business operations restricted by business rules expressed as preconditions and post-conditions. Each rule must be considered and enforced throughout the system, from user interface to persistence storage. Such rule evaluation in multiple contexts results in both significant rule restatement and high maintenance complexity, as there is no single focal point for capturing and reusing these rules. In this paper, we apply the aspect-oriented Design Approach to the persistence layer to simplify business rules management, enforce business rules throughout the system and consequently decrease development and maintenance efforts. Our preliminary results show that it is possible to define business rules in a single place and then apply them automatically in a persistence layer. We retrieve data sets restricted by given operation post-conditions with respect to current execution context without any manual rule restatement. aspect oriented programming (AOP) and aspect oriented Modeling (AOM) have been proposed as development methodologies when dealing with non-functional requirements for embedded systems, which usually represent cross-cutting concerns in relation to a "functional" application. In this paper, based on the observation that non-functional aspects need to be developed from a system-level perspective, we note that application-level AOP is not sufficient to address non-functional requirements (as it usually ignores execution platform constraints). We then propose a development process that considers AOM in conjunction with two standard development approaches for embedded systems: Model Based Development and Platform Based Design. The proposed methodology is illustrated by means of an example with logical execution time requirements.

aspect-oriented programming (AOP) is an emerging programming paradigm that supports implementation of cross-cutting requirements into named program units called aspects. However, these aspects are hard to deal in many stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) especially in aspect-oriented software testing. Main aim of testing is to find the errors during execution of the program. Error can prevail in any part of the program so this study use Control Flow Graph (CFG) to depicts all path of the program during its execution. Some path of the program executes rarely, so with the help of automated test data generation tester can execute those path because generation of test data for these path is not manually possible. Test data generation process can be automated with the help of various techniques and framework. This work provides review of some of the recent work that has been done in the area of AOP test data generation. Based on those work, this work proposes a approach for generating test data for AOP using Genetic Algorithm (GA).
