This paper presents a CATV based multicast file transfer system on top of ALC reliable multicast protocol, and also adjusts the work parameters of this system according to the characteristic of CATV. Based on this system, PC users can experience reliable file downloading at high speed with QoS assurance by access to the CATV network using DVB network interface. The system has already been implemented and successfully applied in practice.
