Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a serious lung disease that severely limits patients’ quality of life and can lead to further health complications if it is not diagnosed and treated in time. In this study, various automatic programming (AP) methods, including Genetic programming (GP) and Multi-Gene Genetic programming (MGGP), are used to achieve highly accurate predictions for diagnosis. Among the methods, MGGP stands out with a prediction accuracy of 100%. The results highlight the potential of AP methods in modeling complex nonlinear relationships in COPD data and identifying key features that influence the diagnosis of the disease. In addition, the effectiveness and efficiency of AP methods suggest that they can contribute to the development of early diagnosis and treatment strategies.

A model-based automatic programming system for sequence control is described. The domain knowledge of the application area is discussed and an environment model that represents concepts of the domain-physical entities, actions and states, relations and conditions-in an extended semantic network is proposed. The system also has model-derivation methods. Because it uses a generic model to generate a specific description of the target plant, the system can be applied to the control of any plant of the same type. The model-based approach supports every task in the software life-cycle. As a result, it enables designers to specify control programs using natural terms and concepts. The system was evaluated by generating practical control programs for steel plants. It doubled design productivity while still producing programs that were satisfactory to design experts. These results suggest that at a primary goal of automatic programming research should be the development of models of the domain area.< >

Much research work in computer science has been carried out in order to facilitate the software development process. Among the numerous research topics, two of them, automatic programming and formal specifications, had rarely been subject to a joint approach. Since 1992, we have developed an automatic programming system called the Descartes system, which, based on formal specifications written in a mathematical language, generates an executable program written in procedural programming language. This system has been used for several industrial applications, among which are a control-command operations scheduler for a fuel-oil based thermal power station, an emergency shut-down system for a nuclear power plant, and a fault-tree processing module. After supplying several items for comparing our work with traditional approaches in the fields of program synthesis and formal specifications, we will describe the Descartes system, the associated specification language, and will then present the results obtained to date.

A new restricted programming language has been created to program task oriented machines. This led to a new method of integrating advanced production machinery. The method allows a design level to interface directly to a manufacturing environment. The manufacturing level advises on aspects of the production tasks which are necessary for the design. The method offers a route towards full factory automation, and integration with a design level. programming approaches at a factory level are presented, and novel techniques to fully automate factories are described. The framework allows the interrogation and programming of any level within a factory hierarchy. Each level of an automated factory hierarchy has been included and a case study is described to demonstrate a successful application of the approach. Hypertension is a condition where the pressure in the blood vessels is higher than normal. It can lead to serious problems such as heart attack, stroke, heart failure, kidney disease and vision problems. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment is important to find appropriate treatment strategies for the disease. In this study, automatic programming (AP) methods, were used and compared to analyze the risk of hypertension. These methods are Artificial Bee Colony programming developed from the behavior of honeybees, Genetic programming (GP) inspired by genetic selection and Immune Plasma programming (IPP) based on immune plasma therapy. According to the performance evaluations obtained from the methods, GP and IPP were the most successful methods with test success rates of 0.91% and 0.89% respectively. In future research, Due to the success of the AP methods, we aim to develop different versions for health problems.
