The authors discuss an approach, called ATTACK (automated tracking taxonomy and coding knowledge), which uses knowledge-based technologies to support the automated synthesis of new target tracking systems for the investigation of new tracking algorithms. In this approach, users are prompted for tracking system characteristics on a series of dynamic, interactive forms. Design rules are applied to the user-applied characteristics in order to derive executable code satisfying those characteristics. The key to ATTACK is the structuring of the knowledge base, which encourages completeness and consistency, and is suitable for automated analysis. The structure, in concert with suitable processing software, guides a user through the system specification process in a natural, organized fashion, and permits informed short cuts, through default settings, for prototyping exercises. The structure is flexible, permitting corrections and amendments on a routine basis, thereby allowing the body of knowledge to evolve naturally.< >

The user inputs the required bending parameters through the specially designed user interface, and the calculation module calculates the motion trajectory of the elbow based on the parameters entered by the user, and determines the bending radius, central axis and coordinate values of each position of the elbow. The G-code generation module generates the corresponding G-code according to the calculated motion trajectory, and the transmission module is responsible for transmitting the generated G-code to the CNC pipe bender to make it perform processing operations. The CNC pipe bender controls the movement of each axial direction of the pipe bending machine according to the received G-code instructions. The fully automated processing process is realized, and the labor cost is reduced.

In order to solve the problems such as difficulty in off-line programming of complex curved surface of high-speed rail weld, low quality and efficiency of grinding and poor production environment, an automatic programming system for high - speed rail weld grinding robot is designed to achieve CAD/CAM/Robotics integration by means of on-line reasonably planning the grinding trajectory, which base on the robot off-line programming system and combine with the sensor to automatically detect the weld position and feature information. Based on CAD secondary development, the experiments on the high-speed rail weld grinding robot automatic programming system are executed for function testing, and the code is input into the robots system to carry out rail weld grinding experiment. The robot finished the automatic programming of rail grinding and achieved a good grinding effect, which effectively solved the problem of automatic programming of grinding and improved the programming quality and efficiency.

Phi NIX is an automatic programming system for writing programs which interact with external devices through temporally-ordered streams of values. Abstract specifications are stated in terms of constrains on the values of input and output streams. The target language is the Stream Machine, a language which includes concurrently executing processes communicating and synchronizing through streams. Phi NIX produces programs by repeatedly transforming abstract specifications through successively more concrete forms until concrete Stream Machine programs are produced. An example which Phi NIX has successfully implemented involves three major steps: transforming the specification into an applicative expression, transforming the applicative expression into three imperative processes, and merging the processes into a single process. Each major step involves several other transformation steps that reformulate and simplify intermediate expressions.< >
