Analysis of consumptions has proved a misuse of antibiotics, despite the existence of national requirements. To be able to compute drugs consumption quantities of highly heterogeneous drugs expressed in various doses units, the World Health Organization has defined a defined daily dose. A methodology has been also defined from previous work to compute manually the drugs consumptions in daily defined dose. We automated this methodology by using data fusion on data retrieved from different sources including a French public database and the World Health Organization website. Evaluation proved the efficiency of the approach, except for inconsistency cases. We identified these cases and proposed a solution to avoid them.

Pervasive smartphones that embed a variety of sensors enable us to sense and learn about the physical environment around us, even the society we live in. However, the sheer volume of data collected through participatory sensing can deeply hamper the performance of various applications (e. g., dataprocessing time and transmitting cost). In this paper, we proposed a method to reduce the volume of sensor data while preserving the information content of the original data. Our proposed method REPresentative Sense (REPSense) borrows the idea from electoral system. Hence, after data reduction, output data (target) can represent the original data (source) as parliament members are elected to delegate their constituencies. This method can compress multi-dimensional data with arbitrary distribution. We evaluated our method using real-world datasets collected by 12 users over a period of 4 months. The results show that our method outperforms state-of-the-art by comparing baseline methods in terms of data divergence and dataprocessing performance.

This paper describes the development and application of a medical pattern evaluation methodology The ADAPT process aims to facilitate the increased rise of data mining technologies in medicine by providing a method of translating the language of data mining outputs into that of the medical domain. The research behind this work was developed in response to issues raised both in the literature and in public forums regarding the difficulty of adapting data mining technologies for the unique needs of the medical domain. This paper also responds to the need for automated systems to reflect the methodologies and processes applied in the management and analysis of medical data. The solution presented here shows promise as a method of providing a bridge between traditional data mining and the needs of medical domain users.

The multi-parametric capillary sensor with local sample heating has been shown as an effective tool for diesel fuel fit for use classification at the laboratory level of technology, where a trained operator performs the experiments. The sensor consists of disposable capillary optrode, head and measurement control unit. An increase of the technology level of the sensor requires automation of samples handling and implementing automatic rejection of uncertain outlier data. Such data uncertainty may come from variations of capillary optrode diameters, inaccuracy of optrode filling with sample, inaccuracy of corking the sample as well as inaccuracy of optrode positioning in the head. Mentioned inaccuracies of preparation of the measurement may lead to outlier data, which impacts the correctness of sample classification. In this paper automatic detection of outlier data received in multi-parametric capillary sensors of diesel fuels is proposed and examined with data collected by untrained and trained operators. Performed experiments show that direct statistical tools applied to raw data lead to improper results of outlier data pointing. The proper outlier data pointing taking place for raw data converted to vector pattern of data on the base of physical phenomena described by experimental data or with the use of analysis of first derivative of raw data characteristic points course.
