As an important renewable energy source in microgrid, photovoltaic (PV) generation has developed rapidly recently because of the merits of high flexibility and expansibility. But the partial shading from the trees, buildings or clouds easily appears in the large-area PV array system. In this paper, the partial shading impact on the PV array system is analyzed, and the results show that it will reduce the whole output power generation and the hard-shading fault will damage the stability of the PV system. In addition, it is analyzed that the parallel connection is much more advantageous than the series topology in partial shading situation, thus it is advised that the parallel connection should be adopted when the series voltage meet the requirement. Secondly, the hard-shading detection based on voltage sensor configuration is proposed and the hard-shading fault characteristics quantity is analyzed. Thirdly, according to the abovementioned fault feature, the backpropagation (bp) algorithm is adopted to locate the faulty position. Finally, the model is constructed in Matlab/Simulink circumstance to verify the analysis and the data is collected to verify the bp algorithm.

A near optimal bp (NObp) algorithm for low-density parity-check (LDPC) coded M-ary BICM communication system is proposed in this paper. Due to the good code structure of LDPC code, we derive the NObp algorithm with the generalized distributive law from the generalized M-ary bp algorithm. The simulation results show that the NObp algorithm outperforms the traditional BICM-bp algorithm over both the AWGN and Rayleigh fading channel. And the EXIT chart of two algorithms confirms the superiority and the fast convergence of our proposed NObp algorithm.

This paper proposes a hybrid Bat-bp approach based on dissolved gas-in-oil data set (DGA) to optimize the structure of back propagation neural network (bpNN). bpNN is a multilayer feed forward neural network. The rule of local decline that bpNN used is easy to fall into local optimum. Bat algorithm is a metaheuristic bionic algorithm with great local performance, which is adopted to optimize the initial value of bpNN. The recommended Bat-bp method has been employed in power transformer fault diagnosis for the first time. To prove the proposed method has better ability of power transformer fault diagnosis, this paper compares the fitness of Bat-bp with bpNN and other optimized approaches including PSO-bp, GA-bp based on the same DGA data set. The mean squared error (MSE) is used in this paper to evaluate the performance of the total four methods. The experimental results show the Bat-bp has increased the fault diagnosis accuracy from 75.68% to 95.22%, which is higher than those optimized models.

An algorithm for quickly training the bp neural network system identifier (bpNNSI) of the chaotic optical systems is presented in this paper. The ability of this algorithm, termed as the chaos speedup bp algorithm (CSbpA), has been demonstrated with the computer simulation of identifying the Bragg diffraction acousto-optic system (BDAOS) in which a 1:4:1 bp network was employed in identification. Taking the normalized output time series of the BDAOS as the training series, the bpNNSI was trained with the CSbpA as follows: (1) trained the bpNNSI to learn a chaotic state of the BDAOS with the bp algorithm where the initial weight distribution was set randomly; (2) took the final weight distribution obtained in (1) as the initial weight distribution for the other states of the BDAOS to be identified; (3) trained the bpNNSI to learn the other states still with the bp algorithm but with the initial weight distribution obtained in (2).

For the errors in the original depth data obtained by TOF depth camera, which lead to image distortion, the method of establishing bp neural network space registration model was proposed to calibrate the depth data deviation caused by non-systematic random error in the process of TOF camera depth data measurement and systematic error of TOF camera measurement principle. The results are compared and analyzed with the calibration results based on the principle of keyhole imaging, bp algorithm is adopted to establish the space registration of bp neural network model, and its precision is higher than the calibration results based on the principle of keyhole imaging, stronger generalization ability, better able to recover the real scene depth data. It provides a new idea and method for the calibration of depth data measured by TOF camera.
