Developing a new multidimensional model for selecting strategic plans in balanced scorecard

The main motivation of this research is to develop an innovative multidimensional model through multi attribute decision making (MADM) methods for strategic plans selection process in the balanced scorecard (BSC). The current study adopted MADM analytical methods including AHP, ELECTRE, BORDA, TOPSIS and SAW to rank the initiatives / strategic plans in BSC. Then the results of those methods were compared against each other in order to find a robust model for selecting strategic plans. The correlation coefficient between methods indicated that multidimensional and ELECTRE methods with 0.944 are the best performing and AHP with negative correlation (-0.455) is the worst performing method for selecting strategic plans in BSC. The high correlation demonstrates that the model can be a useful and effective tool to finding the critical aspects of evaluation criteria as well as the gaps to improve company performance for achieving desired level. Developing multidimensional model is the core model for the selection of strategic plans. This study addresses the problem and issues of group decision making process for selecting strategic plans in BSC. It has numerous contributions that particularly includes;1) Determination of the explicit criteria sub-criteria and criteria to improve ranking strategic plans in BSC, 2) Adopting MADM analytical methods including AHP, ELECTRE, BORDA, TOPSIS and SAW for the selection of strategic plans decision problem in BSC, 3) Developing multidimensional model to address the selection of strategic plans problems in BSC. The proposed model will provide an approach to facilitate strategic plans decision problem in BSC.

Dependency on the balanced scorecard (BSC) and the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model is inadequate in the context of sustainability, environment, and other multiple factors along with the changes in the market dynamics. As a result, performance evaluation through a holistic approach in the manufacturing industry is not comprehensive. Therefore, a Supply Chain Performance Measurement (SCPM) is required to assess the supply chain's effectiveness. This research formulates Integrated Supply Chain Performance Measurement (ISCPM) model through the supply chain performance attributes in the outlook of input-process-output considering the BSC and the SCOR model at three decisions levels with an application of quantitative techniques to bring synergic effect to all stakeholder issues. A gap analysis was performed through systematic literature reviews. The integrated supply chain performance measurement model incorporates ten supply chain performance measurement attributes supplier relationship management (SRM), internal supply chain management (ISCM), and customer relationship management (CRM). The model was then tested from the various sectors in the manufacturing industry of Bangladesh, through a simple random sampling. The ISCPM model furnishes stakeholders of the manufacturing supply chain with the appropriate strategies to review and appraise their performance toward fulfillment of the ultimate goals. This model is suggested to be implemented in manufacturing industries to improve their operational performance. The study contributes to academia developing the ISCPM model with ten performance measurement attributes that enrich the literature on SCPM. It also contributes to the industry for practitioners by bringing synergy into the framework and performance measurement attributes which eventually upgrade the prosperity of the manufacturing industry and eventually the society.

Understanding the Drivers of Cloud-Based Service Adoption and Their Impact on the Organizational Performance: An Indian Perspective

This study aims to understand the drivers of cloud-based services (CBS) adoption and its impact on the performance of Indian organizations. The conceptual model was developed using diffusion of innovation theory, technology-organization-environment framework, transaction cost economics, technology acceptance model, and balanced scorecard model. This quantitative study collected data from IT experts of 334 Indian organizations using questionnaire survey method. Data analysis using structural equation modelling reveals that among six identified drivers, credibility of cloud service provider has the strongest impact on the decision to adopt CBS, followed by top management attitude, economic flexibility, perceived usefulness, and relative advantage. While perceived ease of use of the CBS was found statistically not significant. Conversely, the impact of CBS adoption was found strongest on the financial performance of the organizations. Further, CBS's adoption drivers and their impact on performance vary significantly on the basis of age and size of the organizations.

Usually, companies confront the difficulty to make the best decision about the way to invest their recourses in different project alternatives. The company acquires competitive advantages when their software development projects are well evaluated and correctly selected. Selecting projects in the Information Technology field presents challenges in many senses;e.g., the difficulty that entails assessing intangible benefits, projects are interdependent and companies impose self-constraints. In addition, the framework to make the decision is generally uncertain with many unknown factors. This paper aims to propose a model that integrates methods, techniques and tools such as the balanced scorecard model, neutrosophic Analytic Hierarchy Process and zero-one linear programming. The proposed model is designed to select the best portfolio of Information Technology projects, it overcomes the obstacles mentioned above and can be coherently incorporated in the strategic plan process of any company. In addition, it eases the course of experts' decision making, because it is based on Neutrosophy and hence incorporates the indeterminacy term.

With the sustainable development has become the theme of social activities, the construction industry is facing the resources and environmental pressure caused by high energy consumption and high pollution. Green construction supply chain management has become the inevitable trend of the development of the construction industry. In order to improve the scientific rationality and operability of green construction supply chain performance evaluation, this paper analyzes the characteristics of green construction supply chain. Based on the balanced scorecard (BSC) model and Supply-Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model, this paper constructs a green building performance evaluation index system. Due to the uncertainty and complexity of evaluation, considering the subjective and objective factors, the G1 method and entropy method were used to determine the comprehensive weight of the indicators, and introduce the grey correlation theory to establish the comprehensive evaluation model of green construction supply chain. The model and algorithm were applied to the case study, and more accurate and objective evaluation results were obtained. It provides a useful perspective for the green supply chain performance evaluation and continuous improvement in the construction industry with important theoretical and practical application value.

The intention of this paper is to show and present a multi-criteria approach in measuring the success of high-education institutions, primarily from the point of success in studies. Our approach, actually integrates two concepts: BSC (balanced scorecard) and DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) with the goal to improve and develop the extended BSC model. Measuring success is to be presented through all the four perspectives of BSC, and the emphasis is to be put on measuring the efficiency of the teaching process, where there are students with fluctuating entrance values/inputs, such as their average grades from high school, number of points at the entrance exam, and output values: average grades in the course of studying and the length of studies.

Strategic planning is especially important for organization's success and creation of competitive advantage in a competitive and complicated environment, and on the other hand achievement and implementation of strategies can perform an important role for the purpose of organizations' success, balanced scorecard is a new tool for designing operational strategies. One of balanced scorecard problems is the abs use of priority in strategic plans' performance. So, in this article by using proposed model, using the consensus of organization's managers and experts' opinions, measures of four perspectives and general objectives are determined in BSC, and then using experts' opinions and taking the relative importance of decision makers' opinions into consideration, by using (1)Topsis method that it is one of Group Decision Making model, the performances of strategic plans are prioritized in BSC model. The introduced method is used in a study, and extracted results from it are analyzed from different points of view. In this article Initiatives is called strategic plans.
